    I wasn’t surprised that Mondo pulled this off. He’s running faster than 10m/sec when he plants the pole. He’s faster than every pole vaulter in the world and not by a small margin. Much faster. It’s why he’s in a class by himself.

      I was surprised he won, I wasn’t surprised he performed insanely well.
      So mostly I was surprised Warholm wasn’t faster, after all he is undeniably one hell of a runner himself!
      Very cool event nevertheless, and I wish more athletes would do things like this just for the fun of it.

      I’m a vaulter and can attest to that. But actually he’s running 10.2m per second with a pole to consistently be jumping over 20ft. The 10m per sec rule was placed back in the early to mid 90s when people were going for 6m. But mondo booming 6.20+ regularly now his plant take off speed is between 10m/s and 10.2m/sec. obviously calculated off time and distance from my own calculations. But it’s close and he isn’t the fastest pole vaulter ever as Ashton Eaton takes that hands down. I watched ashton Eaton take off personally from 16’2” and cleared 5 meters. Mondo has the best technique with the speed for sure. But he isn’t the most athletic to ever jump.

    The energy generated by Duplantis running so fast easily transfers to his pole, making it easier for him to jump higher than any pole vaulter, past or present.

    • @billlewis8711
      @billlewis8711 หลายเดือนก่อน

      However, using the words, "Easily ... Easier" don't quite fit!! Trans women and other males identifying as female are trying to take over women's sports, particularly affecting straight, cisgender women. You should be concerned, as the rights of straight women are hanging by a thread. Never before have the rights of straight women been under such pressure. Men aren't fighting to dominate; they're fighting to keep women’s sports for biological women and men’s sports for biological men, regardless of gender identity. It's unfortunate that you might not see the bigger picture here. But don't worry-if things go too far, men, including myself, will stand up for your rights. Please keep an open mind and do your own research beyond the typical local newspapers. In the end, you'll understand what I'm talking about because "this" will go to far in the end.
