@@Depthchargerthis is false - the tallies were only for those whose bodies had been identified. The overall total numbers remained unchanged and were undisputed by the UN, who in fact agreed that the Gaza Health Ministry's counts had always been considered reliable in the past.

Al Ahli Arab Hospital, and then it turned out that it was an errant rocket from Islamic Jihad that landed in the parking lot of the hospital and that 100-300 people were killed. The Palestinian Health Ministry is under the control of Hamas and if you believe that Hamas is telling the truth about any of this, you are as gullible as a Trump supporter.
On multiple past incidents, Israel has called into question Gaza’s numbers.
On every single occasion, Israel later agreed with those numbers.
So why would they continue to question the numbers unless they are trying to cover it up?
And what are the better ways to “count these numbers”? Asking Israel?

Ilhan Omar blamed Israel in a tweet at first, but to her credit, when the truth came out',she corrected it. Hamas does not include in their count,casualties from errant rockets: that they and other groups in Gaza fire at Israel but don't make it into Israel and fall on their own people like what happened at the hospital.They also don't distinguish between innocent civilians and Hamas fighters when they do their count. If the first congresswoman said she wished there were other sources, she is admitting that she doesn't trust the Health Ministry.

Whether the ministry of health has been truthful or at least acceptably reliable in the past does not change the fact that it lies now and has been caught lying throughout this war. Statisticians have went through the numbers and found clear anomalies. The numbers literally don't add up. Others have went through the list of names that later woman mentioned, and found errors that can't be explained by mere typos, such as people listed multiple times and people who have died years ago who now appear to have died in this war again. Other errors that might be typos but are unlikely include incorrect ID numbers, having too little or too many digits. To say X many people died, you need to know which exact people have were pronounced dead, and so you need exact details. Without these details, the list cannot be distinguished from pure fiction. And a few months ago the ministry itself had said that 11k (about a third of the reported casualties number) are incomplete listings. That means that about a third of that number could be flat out made up, even before you start noticing the repeating listings or the listings reused from years ago.
These reports are also never revised from the initial exaggerated casualty estimations, even when they're proven false or significantly smaller than first thought. They don't differentiate between civilian and combatant. They don't differentiate the causes of death (was it a victim of an Israeli attack, of the local authorities shooting their own people, of natural causes?).
Whether it's the only source, whether it's been used in past engagements, it's not reliable now.
