- "The House Beyond Midnight" is a short story by the American author, Allison V. Harding. The story first appeared in Weird Tales in January 1947, and was described as follows: “A house that could never have been, and could never be again-seeable only by dead eyes!”

It's really interesting to me how Harding writes from the perspective of men. I always get the sense that the main characters absolutely adore their wife.

This was a really good story, Harding was quite the effective horror writer.

This one was another real gem, they're always good, (Ian's reading alone,) but this one stands out, huge fun from start to finish.

Oh…a “friendly” escape…lovely!
Warren is, alas, dead. He was only at half HP when a wizard threw a fireball at him. Warren rolled a “1” on his save and took double damage. We scraped his ashes up and piled them in his helmet. Hopefully the cleric the next town over can raise him.
Creepy and fun story, and my brain filled in some Hammer Horror staples as the characters in the House. Thanks very much!
