Heartstopper is a really awesome show (and only 8 episodes, each almost 30 minutes)
It's mostly about finding yourself, being true to who you are and queer joy and friendship, told from teens in highschool in Britain. There are dark moments and it deals with hardships that teenagers in general and queer teens specifically experience but it never gets too dark or defeatist, and it shows a lot of queer joy, found family and the importance of friendships
As a non-native English speaker I understand easily what she says because she speaks so well! I mean, slowly, very elegant... Love it
I think she's had voice training in her performing arts college.
Now she is the new companion in Doctor Who. I'm so happy for her.

Based on appearance, I was disappointed that Heartstopper hadn't cast a trans person in this role, but after reading up on the production, I see they did. I like authentic portrayals, especially when it is germane to the story line. Though I will say that if Kit is totally straight, he is doing an awesome job of portraying the emotional aspects of his character. Sadly, other productions didn't consider the emotional meta-language to be important.

Trans representation is super important. When that is said, she is beautiful, feminine and sound like a woman, therefore she will be much more easily accepted. Trans people who don’t fall in to that category have mountains to climb if they don’t fall in to that category. I think she will have a bright future, she was lucky to be able to start her transition early in life…..and therefore be accepted to be in shows and maybe films on tv. It all falls down to how sexually attractive you are to straight men…
