I'm watching in Feb. 2020. Found this camera at a Value Village thrift store for $20 with a 2nd long telephoto lense. It also came with the battery charger but only one battery. The memory card is only 2 gigs. LOL The one in my phone is 120 gigs. Maybe I'm not setting something right but I haven't had the flash work yet even setting it to force flash. But for twenty bucks it will be nice to be able to get those really long shots. Thanks for the review. It helped me know just what I got.
CCD sensors are very rare now, so to me the A350 has exceptional value alone. The menu system and battery life is vastly superior to their mirrorless line as well.
It was my first dslr, i ended up selling it so i could get the a65. I really miss using it, i liked its simplicity and good ergonomics. The live view function was pretty radical in its day, was a great asset
I have owned a Sony a350 for a while now gotten a lot of photos the only downside is low light situations any iso above iso 800 is bad and the highest iso is only 3200 and sometimes at high iso it looks like it wants to have night vision green!
Call me crazy, but i am convinced there is something unique about CCD sensor cameras at iso 100. I had an A100 and a Pentax K10d. Which both used the 10.2 CCD sensor and images just POP. Meanwhile now im using an A7R2 and its MEH. This A350 is a 14mp CCD, any thoughts how it compares to the A100 ? lets assume both cameras on tripod, manually focused at iso 100
You aren't crazy. CCD is global (all pixels expose at the same time), has bigger wells for light gathering, and has better color rendering. The imperfect look which includes more chemical process looking grain/noise is also more desirable.
You select Apature priority mode by selecting the A-mode on the dial. To controll ISO, Apature and Shutter speed, you need to select Apature first at in the A-mode, and then switch towards Manual, of M-mode on the dial. Here you can set the Shutter speed while not changing the Apature.
matthiâs Beek when in manual mode if you hold down the AV button and turn the front control dial it will change the aperture or shutter speed depending on how you have the dial setup, hope this helps

I can't see why not. The 18mm wide angle would be very useful for shooting rooms from a doorway, for example.
