their complicity on stage was tremendously creative! Saw Bowie live 22 times, since Outside album, great! There is Mike Garson on keyboards, he is discrete but in rare occasions, he drops a joke 🤣 he was in Bowie's 'band' longer than Miss Dorsey. When talent meets talent... ⚡🙏🔥❤️🔥🙏⚡
Sooo GooD- I loved the Original Album back when I was 14 yrs old...how time flies & the nostalgia brought by this music is like magic- as mentioned below part of a special group of artists that influence & inform us still to this day. I miss David Bowie so much- still gutted he's gone :( I thought he'd live 4ever. But be happy & know he's at peace with William Burroughs and the other great artists we have lost. For the Anderson/Burroughs keen, check out the amazing clip of him dancing with her on stage, they actually collaborated & got along v.well ;)
Music has changed with Bowie...for the best! I loved his art, respected him for his intellectual qualities that he transfered through music...my first concert was 'Outside', 1995, February...and followed by 21 others, in small theaters or medium concert halls... always great! For Heathen album he played of course the album, and other gems, went two days in a row, these songs completely changed, except for the Heathen part...and the final, was 'Ziggy played guitar' wonderful! ⚡🙏🔥❤️🔥🙏⚡
@@professormause because it’s one of the most iconic songs of all time, and directly addresses the modern human condition interaction between man and machine.
@professormause Your comment was unnecessary. I believe the listener was just bringing to light the originator of thd song. I didn't know it was a Laurie Anderson song.
Gail is a fantastic singer, David... he's David, but Laurie isn't just a singer. She is a great performer, actress, singer, musician and so on. Let's let Laurie do what only she does in a unique way, it's not a cover song. IMHO.
All songs are up for covers. The thing to keep in mind is that all covers, even ones we don't like are done out of respect for the artist and the song. I love this and it reminded me of the original which I also love, but had forgotten
Gotta love David for a gazillion reasons but he always allowed Gail Ann Dorsey to SHINE ON...and boy oh boy can she SHINE!
Gail is a baller
I just knew this lady would since David chose her ,their voices are. Match made long b4 in another place n time..

Probably the best version of this variously live recording. Certainly the clearest one to hear.

Maravillosa Gail Ann Dorsey , Que talento, belleza física y simpatía. ❤
I listen to /watch this all the time - one of my fave live covers ever
I saw her perform this in Seattle and it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. You kids are you young to remember smoking or non-smoking.

This is the only song where I've ever actually SEEN Bowie playing the sax!
Not sure, but think he played it also on the Album 'Black tie/ White Noise'. Saw him 22 times live and he never played it live...

someone know the synth use in background? The one that start at 0:37
"Was this on a 12'' Single ?", I've seen asked on discogs etc.
No, but it should have been.
Your footage of Bowie performing Slip Away in Wantagh, 2004, has been copyright blocked. Don't suppose there is any way to see it?
COOL ANN GALE, AWSOME INTERPRETER OF LAURIE ANDERSON. SHE'S THE REAL PROTAGONIST OF THIS VIDDY
Anderson didn't write it
Did tbis make an album
Zgail will miss Bowie not for long she is brilliant herself. Ziggy.🍓🍎🍊💙❤️Geordie Glasgow.
Is there a studio or live recording of this duet? Please inform!!! Thanks. ♐
David Bowie - Look at the Moon; released two days ago as part of a VERY limited run (Brilliant Live Adventures series)
