Great video. I just switched to an iPhone 15 Pro Max from Android. A lot of what you said is spot on. One correction though, there is an alphabetized app drawer. Swipe over to the app library and then swipe down or tap in the App Library search field. Either one will open an alphabetized view of all your apps. The rest of your "Like to have" list is spot on.
Android user using iOS kill me 🤣 “I want an alphabetized app drawer but iOS still doesn’t offer…” dude swipes to the app drawer and all u so is hit ‘search’ and the alphabetized app drawer appears. Or u can change ur brain to function like a iOS user and get used to Apples categorization of your favorite apps and learn which folder they’re in through muscle memory which I’d argue is quicker. U have to fully embrace iOS to enjoy iOS not try to make iOS Android. 😂
@@borders27 it's hard to change our brains and think like an iOS user until we actually play with the os and learn over an extended period of time. In many ways they are similar, and then in some ways they are different. We just don't know what we don't know until we figure it out for ourselves or someone tells us.
@@borders27Common on really your logic is the same for Apple users going over to android. The learning curve is allot steeper though. IOS is really simple.
I hate how he gushes over the physical feel, not the lighter weight of titanium. My iPhone 13 pro max is a brick. I prefer Android phones more. I always use a case with any phone. His gushing over the physical feel of the phone is ridiculous and annoying.
@@mementomori29231but the weight is part of the feel lmao. You feel the weight. And it feels better than holding a brick in your hand. But in a case it doesn’t matter really
I also often bounce back and forth because I like using both every couple years to see what’s going on with Apple, and also android. In case I’m ever forced to stay on one for longer than I’d like so I’m still comfortable
I know! They are still AWFUL compared to Android. The most irritating thing is going in to an app... Reading the message for example, and then the notification still remains! It's SO backwards. Having to swipe away a notification you've already dealt with, just so illogical.
@@baraqcun 1000000%. Using SwiftKey on the iPhone is ok but still overall pretty shit compared to Android. Not being able to resize etc is garbage. And the fact that whenever it comes to typing in a password, Apple doesnt allow you to use SwiftKey to do it, it just switches back to the Apple keyboard 😂 honestly... I liked the iPhone 15 PM when I tried it out, just like I liked the 14 PM etc before it. But I can't make the switch, android just has far too many little nicities that make it very difficult once you've get used to having them. Oh and no status bar notification icons 🤦♂️.... So backwards too! iOS could be SO much better.
My sister got the 15 recently (due to her phone contract) - so we played around with it. I am coming from various Android phones (mostly Samsungs and Nokias), my sister has had Apple phones since, uh .. i think since the Iphone 6. What i liked: The build quality is good, it feels solid - but it gets warm quickly (in one spot. I hold the phone in my left hand, and it gets warm just below the camera module on the back and on the side of the frame). The screen is nice - nothing amazing, but nice. The hardware/software is quick, the haptics are GREAT (the linear vibrator really is good, not better than the flagship Samsung ones ... they are about on the same page - but its more when it gives feedback). Most of the rest was generic flagship smartphone business .. nothing to write home about. What i disliked: On Android, i plug it into a PC and move my music over to the music folder. On IOS .. well, thats not working. Even with iTunes, it does not work. I did not manage to give my sister custom notification sounds at all (we tried to figure it out for quite some time, along with google tutorials and all) - and it took us quite some time to upload custom ringtones. The music is put into what appears to be random folder structures on the phone, it did not recognize audio-books .. and autoplay seems to prefer the Apple music app over 3rd party apps that we preferred (foobar2000) Android has a LOT more free applications from what i can tell, from ad-skipping apps to simple music apps. In general - advertisement was significantly more intrusive, unskippable and annoying on IOS. (annoying meaning, it swaps screens (to the app store) multiple times, adds additional timers etc. Our conclusion was: She likes it very much. But she has always had an Iphone. I do not like it over similarly priced Android phones, because i value customization more ... also, i like a square design over the rounded corners. My sister is also not bothered about the ringtones and the music, because she streams her music anyway, while i upload my music onto the phones memory. I know (from this channel) that you can customize the Iphone, too .. but it is much harder than doing the same on Android.
I have opwned both for years. IOS does not popo up advertising and adds like that. Just plain lying. I have had iPhones for years and get zero pop up or ads in app. smh. seriously.
@@Techfanatic73 idk, maybe it depends on what country you are in. But IOS sure displays ads like the following: - add a 30s (or sometimes a 59s) timer to a little video - once the timer runs out, it will pop up the app store - where you can either install or click "done" - when you clicked "done" it reverts back to the video, adding an additional 5s (sometimes 12s) timer - when this timer runs out, you can usually click the "X" and you are done with it sometimes the "X" opens the app store once more, asking you to click "done" again. Dont believe it? fine by me. Android does it similar btw. shifting the "X" from corner to corner, adding timers .. hiding the "mute" symbol (or not displaying one at all) But - i have not had any 1 minute ads on Android. (not that i remember) - on IOS, getting a 59s ad is rare, but happens (about 1 in 20 maybe?) BUT - if your experience is different .. you should be happy. edit: just in case your pride in your gadget is (somehow?) hurt. Blame the advertiser, not the smartphone brand or OS, i guess. What you should ask yourself is - "why in the world would i lie about that?" In my opinion, iPhones are among the best looking and best designed phones. They are trend-setters for sure. They enjoy such a high status (as a symbol) that the majority of people want one or use one (by statistics). Just because i like Android better .. for the sole reason that it allows ME to modify and customize them better .. should not diminish your enjoyment of Apple products. Keep in mind, it is not a religion .. it is just a consumer good that you pay for.
@@Techfanatic73 may be you are using apps that are paid or have none ads. not saying you or he is lying. But andriod has edge if you know nitty & gritty then you can do most of thing free.
@@Techfanatic73 they are not talking about the system, but about the apps on iOS. You got mighty defensive, like a phone is a core part of your personality.
One of my main complaints with the iPhone that a lot of reviewers seem to forget as they're reviewing the iPhone is applications since the iPhone does not allow side loading, a lot of my essential apps are just jot available likenthey are on Android. Therefore it's not even possible to switch even if I wanted to and no there are no similar apps on iOS because fundamentally those kinds of apps can not run iOS.
An observation that I find kind of funny is how Apple is known as being better for recording videos and yet you can't even pause a video recording on iOS like you can on Android. You have to stop recording and then rerecord an entirely new file, do that as many times as necessary and then fix all of that in post or be content with uploading multiple video files
Here's more that iOS needs that no one wants to cover: - Allow separate browser engines so FF or Chrome can bring their own suite of extensions and features and not simply be a Safari skin - Allow separate apps to be set as the "default" to play media files. "Open with" is sorely missing in iOS - Media players don't automatically rotate the screen when in full screen mode. - Rotating the screen shouldn't need bringing down the control center. Android's rotate button appears when you change the orientation. - The 240hz PWM frequency that is really difficult for some people to use.
- File Manager, you can't really transfer files from a computer directly. - You do not have clear data on apps. You need to uninstall/reinstall the app to do this.
I made that mistake.. What I hate the most on the iPhone is the typing experience. And I downloaded SwiftKey keyboard which I used on android but it's completely different on IOS.
I swtich from 22ultra to iphone 14 pro max last year and went back to s22u after 2 weeks and had to sold iphone since return was closed lol @@mariola6182
As a galaxy s23u owner,i returned my 15 pro max lol.I tried to like iphone and switch but i can't see anything special about it.Lack of clipboard, garbage file system, horrible notification system, the keyboard isn't that good,no multitasking, slow charging, back gesture is only from the left side, lack of customization etc...the list goes on,a lot limitation for my taste.
I switched to the 15 pro max after having samsung since 2009 and I will never go back to android. This is my first iPhone ever and I used to hate...HATE apple but after the S22 ultra, I was done. This phone is amazing in every way...I knew what I was giving up though and it wasnt a problem for me. I regret not switching sooner.
@@terrylafauci791My wife went back to Apple after years on Android and got a Pro Max 12 (a few years ago) and has been very happy. She, like you, knew what she was giving up and was fine with it. I wasn't and will never go back to iOS. That's why tech is great. To each their own! I love options.
After using Android for 12 years I switched to an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I am loving it so far, there are a few things I wish it did better like Android but I can live with it, the camera, fluid UI and performance is just too good, the apps run far superior in comparison to Android.
The problem with spending $1000 on an Android flagship is that Samsung will undercut the price you paid in a month with a firesale on the same handset you just spent $1000 on. Only a fool buys Android phones at full price because the manufacturer will erode their value themselves. Goes for both Google and Samsung. Apple doesn't do this so the $1000 phone you bought from them is still worth something in a couple of years if you decide to trade it in (especially since it still has years of support ahead of it).
That's why you should get pre order deals or just wait for great sale, that's what i usually do woth all my samsung devices, never in the rush to get them but at least apple always keep the value up
I’ve been an Apple user for over 20 years but they really do piss me off. Apple was the first out of the gate with an intuitive, multi-touch experience and they were years ahead of anyone. They may not have had the first “smartphone” but they’re the first to make it appealing to the masses. The fact that they aren’t still years ahead is infuriating. That being said I’ll still never switch because they’re unmatched in consistency.
as someone who recently lost my iphone 13 and have started using my previous android phone , i realized how much freedom i had with android. android is those who want flexibility and customizability without the system lockdown that iphone has. with an iphone u feel good cuz ppl get the impression u are rich but thats not the case. basically iphone has the image that its a piece of jewellery that u can show off.
Just fyi, everything you said wasn't digital zoom....is digital zoom. Both apple's "different focal lengths" and the APS-C mode on full frame cameras are quite literally digital zoom. They are cropping into the sensor on both of them, and that is the definition of digital zoom. APS-C mode is the central area of the FF sensor and you can tell because the APS-C mode yields a lower resolution than the full frame mode. Same with the iphone 15 pro/max--28 and 35mm mode are both clearly lower quality than the 24mm mode. Seems the marketing buzzwords have indeed gotten to you :)
11:52 They do give you an alphabetized app drawer: swipe left to get to the app library and then swipe down to get to the alphabetized drawer, inc. quick search (alas, not fully fuzzy, unfortunately).
The notification Problem is a deal breaker for me I switched from the s23 Ultra to a iPhone 15 pro I missed so many notifications and Even calls on IOS And is it just me or doese the iPhone Not feel Like 120hz at all In comparion to my s23 the iPhone feels Like 75 to 90hz never even near the Smothness of the s23
iPhone notification panel is pure garbage. Still no "close all apps" button when u swipe up and hold to see all your open apps. Honestly, those 2 things alone are utterly pathetic.
Coming from a note 9 to an iPhone 15 pro. Gotta say there’s so many features that’s missing on the iPhone that a 5 year old galaxy has. That’s without even mentioning the features the old one brought to the phone
Just came back to Android from using an iPhone for 2 months. Two things drove me crazy. The keyboard. I dont know why Gboard for iOS is so radically different then Androids. Second, the back gesture. On Android is it is so easy and Consistent. Gotta say tho, battery life was betond spectacular on the 13 Pro Max. I have never experienced this on any new or old Android, especially if you game.
Fax. The most premium Androids lose twice their value twice as fast vs Apple. When I travel overseas tho I buy a very cheap android. But use my $150 pocket digital camera for really really good pics.
Notifications. I really hate the way iOS handles them, yet they are far more reliable due to the way they come from Apple's servers and not the phone itself. But it drives me absolutely crazy when I have to go looking for them because they moved to "history" when I haven't even looked at them and the absence of the notification icons on the status bar.
@Dk-qf8dd you can use Google or Samsung text so notifications come through differently for each device. Not only that, but you can text right from the notification bar or pop up notification or open it into a full on pop up app. The notifications are much easier to manage on stock android and samsung, and you can go manage them easier in settings.
Having used both iOS and Android for over a decade, I can say that you are 100% wrong. iOS notifications are much more reliable than they are on Android. They just aren't as convenient to access.@@Dk-qf8dd
Yea I hate the way they look but when using beeper and other apps I actually GET my notifications at least. My pixel would just decide not to give me some alerts and random.
Action button - a couple of problems with it: 1: the position is odd and doesn’t make it easy to hand. 2: I like the silence option and was looking forward to using it for something else however they removed the silence function from back tap. lately, while customizing is nice, this kills the Notifications at the app.
I have a 15 pro max and hold my phone with my left hand. meaning the action button is super easy for me to push. So i think the debate is whether or not it's convenient for you. And you can't hide from the fact that the action button is an upgrade regardless. If I'm goin got be using my flashlight a lot of my phone i can program the action button to that to make it easier for me to use my flashlight. Not to mention no one said anything about the silent switch all these past years being on the same spot it is now. So what's the big deal? And In conclusion if you hold your phone in your right hand then sure it will be a little uncomfortable and if you hold it in your left hand it'll be like nothing even happened also that it is an upgrade from last year regardless.
I used to care about the app drawer, but on the iPhone, swipe down and search, the first letter I type in would get my app I want. I do wish a more interactive widgets for sure
In section Android vs iOS, you said about most important thing! A lot of people compare their expirience with both platforms to based on Android phone for 300$ vs iPhone for 1000$. Now, Samsung with One UI is as good as iOS. And no one speaking about thing, that you cannot copy from Iphone to PC all your albums with names, sorted photos, like it's on Android. I hate that, because I want Windows PC. For me it's disaster. Currently, I'm trying iPhone 14 Pro and if you don't have Apple ecosystem, you can't feel fuly potential.
I personally think military grade is used obnoxiously frequently. I mean, military personnel climbs 50 feet rocks for covert attacks, dives 15 feet below water, runs through deserts, stays in the snow for 10 days before move... I mean what's 10x military protection mean ??
Honestly i used to love Apple but left them about 3 years ago. Its the same thing over and over again. Seeing my partners iphone 15 pro max is like stepping back years compared to my S24 Ultra. They're so far behind Samsung. Brilliant video 👍
Hmmm when the design section comes down to how less fingerprints the 15 gets compared to the 14, you realize they aren't making that much to justify the change in first place; and no the 'action button' is not the end of the world. Back tap is way more useful and easy to reach but almost no one talks about it.
For the first time as a long term Android user, I am seriously thinking about replacing my old trusty but old s9+ with an Iphone. Yes I already have a Mac Mini m1 and an Ipad, but I always refused to buy an Iphone. But since almost half a year now, there seems to be a software issue between TH-cam and all keyboard apps in which TH-cam freezes them to the point my whole phone freezes. And apparently thats not exclusively related to my s9+. If google cant fix this issue, which I have reported twice already, I dont see a reason why my next phone should be Android anymore.
Iphone is good but few basic Problems.. no Back Button no Fingerprint reader no clear app data no numbers row on Keyboard no easy screenshot like android no easy notification swipe down no Digital clock Widget too big notch (Iphone Notch ruins Notification bar) 14 notch better than 15 island no media volume control during call 3rd party Apps and inside app things...
@@umeshkhadka7533 Regarding your points... Not so much of a problem for me: 1) No fingerprint reader: Iphones use Face unlock. Works quite well on my Ipad. 2) No clear app data: I dont know exactly what you mean, but at least on my Mac I was told (from an IT person) Apple handles app data and residuals much better than Windows. 4) No easy screenshot: I dont know what you mean. On Android its power + vol- buttons, on iOS and iPadOS its power + vol+ buttons. Its virtually the same. 5) No notification swipe down: I dont know what you mean. Ok, I only know notifications from my s9+, which is kinda old, but on IPadOS its not that different. And since I have unsubbed from many social media, I dont have to deal with so many notifications anyway. I just checked my sister's Iphone, I dont see a problem here, other than that there are a lot of notifications... 6) No digital clock widget: They have one on the lockscreen, what more do you need? On the homescreen there is only an analog one yes, but if you cant read an analog clock the problem is with you TBH. 7) IMO the notch of the older phones such as my sister's Iphone X, is big. The one on the Iphone 15/pro is fine. 8) I just asked my sister regarding volume control during calls, she said of course you can change volume. ____________ More of a problem for me: 9) No back button: What you mean is no universal back-button like all Android phones have. Yes thats a bit annoying, but not a deal breaker for me. 10) No numbers row: yes thats also a bit annoying, but not a deal breaker for me, since I dont waste so much time on my phone anyway ____________ There is one thing that might be a deal breaker for me, and that is that you cannot use your own songs when setting alarms. But only might be. I will have to look into that a little more and see how to solve that problem. ____________ All in all I would say, since I have Android and Apple products and can compare, that both systems (Android vs iOS/iPadOS) are quite similar now. Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses.
Just switched to the iPhone 15 pro after being an Android user for the last 10 years +, and man… the notification system in the iPhone is Horrible, how they didn’t upgrade it yet? It’s so annoying
Im stuck atm with iphone 13 pro and only reason is quality and thats it. Android has way more features than ios, but iphone (device) is just far better made, works as it should and doesnt lag/freeze nor bother me. Im using phone as laptop and I had problems with samsung and pixel. And cameras arent that important to me, photos can be done on all phones starting at 50% price of iphone (Im not only-fans model/instagram equivalent so I dont care that much)
No need for double tripple action button click. One shortcut can assign multiple functions to this button basing on other conditions, such as focus mode or phone orientation or both combined. Possibilites are endless with action button. That is why it's my favourite feature in this phone.
I'm switching back to ios bec after 3 years on on android I don't trust the software with all of my information, 2. Almost all my freinds and coworkers have iphones whats app is not for me. 3. I know this is superficial but pulling out a iphone is like pulling out the lot with super nice car and android is like a nice functional Honda.
If nothing else, just the fact that from what I understand you can't disable notifications per application on iOS is enough for me to stay as far away as I can from iPhones.
I must be confused because in Settings there is a Notifications and shows each app on the phone and how you want Notifications to be handled. Unless I am misunderstanding what Notifications mean. Like I have Mail show banners with sound, FB with badges only, Watsapp with banner and badges etc.
so many youtubers every year say "i keep getting scratches on the screen" when every year i never get any.. i don't use a screen protector or anything... and am not super careful... so ether they just chuck their phone around with rocks or are doing it on purpose to advertise screen protectors...
I have an Iphone from work but I use Android as my main phone. I use both regularly. I hate everything on IOS. I hate the UI, the icons, the way settings work, I hate the "file system" I hate the lack of back buttons, I hate the gestures. IMessage sucks, I guess they finally adopt RCS, but right now it is a pain to use if have to message people with Android phones. The only positive I can say is that it integrates well with Mac OS. However it is a nightmare to use with Windows.
A crop is always a digital zoom, no matter how you twist and turn it. If you crop, you take away the full megapixel count and reduce it by the crop factor, thus less megapixel, less resolution. If you just "digitially" zoom, you do the very same thing: "crop out a part of the picture with higher megapixel count".
Probably making the change. Ive had nothing but problems with my s22 ultra between the sim card reader, esim, and connecting to any network. Looking online the 23 is having the same issues
After almost a decade on android, i'll have an apple for the first time, although i used apple 3 years (not straight), usually switching back and forth after a few months
I see you just compare 14's experiment vs 15's experiment. I switched to iPhone from Android and my experiment is bad. On Android, I just swipe and it is back to previous. On iPhone, I have to click on back button, which is not identical. Even with Assistive Touch, I have to click more for the same thing. Typing experiment is terrible, I have to click more for the same editing. Gmail notification on iPhone is worse, it doesn't show all the mail to read, to mark as unread or smth, it just show some line of that email. Other notification personalizing is terrible, on Android I can turn off notification for Like, Coupon...everything, but on iPhone I have to turn it all on or all off. App settings is complicated. When I want to change smth, I have to go to the setting, swipe swipes swipe to that app and click to change it. Many little annoying things I don't remember.
If I could get a premium stock android experience like on the pixel without their garbage tensor chip I’d be super excited to swap but I tried the pixel and although I loved lots about it the performance battery life and reliability just wasn’t there. I cannot stand Samsungs overlay and how it complicates updates and a whole host of other problems.
As a long time Android user I have to say they both are good in their own way and if you like your phone and it does what you want who cares which phone you have but i have noticed that iphone users care way too much about you not having an iphone. Same can't be said for android phone users to iphone users. The main reasons i occasionally get bothered about it is because of the camera or not being able to facetime people id never facetime or about text bubbles. I personally feel android has better everything but camera and the only reason people want you to have an iphone is for their mental piece of mind and because its a flex to spend so much on a phone. I tried getting an iphone again but like i said other than the camera there isn't a lot of use i can get out of it with the features i miss from my android
“If I had bought the s22 ultra instead, I wouldn’t be alive right now” - my friend whose life was saved by the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s satellite capabilities. No one plans to get stuck in the Australian outback, yet of all the flagship phones normally people buy, only iPhones can save your life in this situation. So yeah, I’m biased towards Apple
I believe most people don't switch to Android is, they think they have to learn a new system. Going from Android to apple I was so frustrated with having to figure out how to operate everything. Also apple makes you do 2 or 3 extra steps even for the simplest tasks 🤷🏼♂️
I’m an Apple user for around 6 years now. Was always an android user. One thing that blows my mind is how far ahead google assistant is compared to Siri. Siri should retire. Google assistant was 100 times better on my google pixel 3 XL 6 years ago than Siri is today. APPLE needs to do better with Siri because she’s pretty much only good for setting alarms and turning off navigation when I’m driving.
What you were saying at the end about people comparing $300 Android phones with $1000 iPhones is pretty ridiculous. Are you really saying that people are that dumb that they don't know that a $300 will not be the same as a $1000 phone? Personally, I have switched back and forth between Android and iOS for years, and I still prefer iOS. As a standalone software, Android is pretty decent, but it doesn't have the integration and quality of life features that iOS has, and depending on the brand you buy, you have multiple companies fighting for you to use their software (Google vs Samsung, for example). Here's an example of how iOS & Apples services make your life easier: iCloud Photos. It syncs not only from your phone to the cloud but also from the cloud to your phone, and any changes you make on your phone, tablet, laptop or even a Windows PC through the iCloud website syncs to all of your devices. It is a two-way sync. Google Photos, OneDrive or any number of other cloud services can backup the photos from your Android device, but if you clean up your library by deleting double-ups, screenshots etc then those photos wont be deleted from your cloud backup. Same if you make edits to your photos, not synced. So now you have two photo libraries that you need to manage. It's 2023, they can do better. Also, try to get Google Assistant to create a calendar event on a Hotmail or other email account other than Gmail. It won't and you can't even make the calendar event on Gmail and then easily transfer it to another account. iOS is way more user-friendly in this sense. You can link any account you want and set it to default and choose which services you want to sync (email, calendar, contacts etc) and then if you have more than one account (say a work and personal account) and say want to move a calendar event from one account to another, regardless of if they are with the same company, its as simple as 2 taps. Don't get me wrong, iOS isn't perfect and neither is Android. Both have some annoyances and limitations but for me, iOS is the better software. To qualify my statements, these are the phones I have owned in the past few years: iPhone XS, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro, Galaxy S22 Ultra, iPhone 15 Pro Max.
@@robertsalyers1351 Well I'm using the 15 Pro Max right now and that is pretty nice. I'd say it's the best phone I have used when you look at the whole picture. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was my second favourite. It had amazing cameras, a really nice and easy to hold design and felt extremely premium in the hand but it was the software that let it down. It just wasnt polished, had a lot of bugs and software updates were few and far between and usually broke as many things as they fixed and just changed things that didnt need to be changed. Cool phone though. The Samsungs were OK but the cameras were a let down, the software has some nice features but also some really annoying things too. The pen was handy and is nice to have for sure even if you only use it for marking up screenshots. So I'd say iPhone 15 Pro Max, Mi 11 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro and then S22 Ultra would be my top 4 that I have owned. The S24 Ultra looks like a great phone too but I have tried switching to Samsung 2 times and both times I just got too frustrated with Samsungs software so I cant justify the cost of trying Samsung again. I'll stick with my 15 Pro Max until the 17 Pro Max comes out and either get that or maybe try something different but I'll probably stick with the iPhone. It's not perfect but it is an all around slick device and good user experience.
No one cares about how the sides feel and how thin the bezels are. Most will just slap a case on their iPhones negating these differences. The height position of the action button is a non-issue because it's positioned much lower than where it used to be in pervious models. The real problem is that it isn't high enough and it's mashed up against the volume buttons which makes it difficult to adjust the volume without hitting the action button. It needs to be further separated from the volume buttons.
Hey Sam, long time no see man, thanks for the video!,, I have my iPhone 14 Pro for 370 days today, I still have 100% of battery left. I’m gonna use it for at least two more years.!!! And I have been using it daily………… 😊
I'm getting my first iPhone, since the 4, in about 3 weeks, and I should be satisfied with just about everything, except for one absolutely critical thing. It had no Filesystem access. I have a syncthing server two-way syncing my important files to all of my devices, and more importantly, the entire photo album. Apple does not allow it, and it's killing me. You can do this, but only by removing photos from the regular album, importing them into another folder, and then doing a sync
I have an iPad so I don't know if it is different on the iPhone, but I use an app called Termius and it allows me, among other things, to mount remote ssh servers on the native Files app, and that's how I move stuff between my laptop and the iPad.
Great video and thanks for being objective. I use Mac computers for video production but switched from iPhone to Android 10 yrs ago with no regrets at all. Both great offerings on either side--whatever works for you is what I say.
''Comes down to which OS you prefere.....?'' I would have thught cost is a big factor. The Samsing S23 is quite a bit cheaper than an iPhone 15 Pro. And the Google Pixel 8 is about half the price currently and a phone you prefer the images on. These are all flagships phones, but it seems to me you have expect the iPhone to be amazing everywhere to be ok with the price difference.
Well, what you are talking about at 9:50 is exactly what digital zoom is doing...but of course it looks better in comparison, as the non cropped image is downsized to make the others seem better.
Love your reviews, and this was another good one. Just a nitpick for something you mentioned at 9:12. Apple were not the first OEM to use sensor-cropping to achieve zoom. Samsung did this with the S20 series, and because most reviewers gloss over the non-Ultra variants, it was quickly forgotten about despite the implementation actually being good.
Great review and really informative. As a predominantly Android user myself for more than 20 years now I am seriously considering moving over to the IPhone 15 Pro and giving Apple a chance but not 100% sure Just yet.
if you think about with cheap android phones being a barrier entry point, that getting people in to android would be better if Android adopted a more friendly ecosystem like if your cheap android phones worked just as good with laptops pairing. Like samsung Dex, but that's a feature that you have to buy into Samsung for not just android.
If the PlayStation one and PlayStation 5 looked the same I'd still prefer the new updated Hardware inside of the box of the PS5 especially if I was putting a cover on it so I couldn't see the unit anyway
Ps u can also use shortcuts to allow the action button to do many different things without changing it in settings every time through some of the “iOS logic. Ex. u can have the action btton effect change depending if u are in silence, dnd, or other conditions or just have display mult widgets.
The position of the action button makes it hard to reach. To anyone reading this, let that sink in, because, from what I can tell, you have two hands, and they seem to be working just fine. I see your hands wrapped around this phone right near the action button, and you left it on silent switch because it’s the action that, in your own words, you use the most. Now, that makes no sense, does it? Thank you, and good night.
You'll flip. I prefer android and am watching this on my s23 Ultra. Flagship andoids are just more fun. Sim card is in my iPhone. In the US, more people are iPhone, and most importantly, my people are. Apple will hook you with iPhone 16. You're so close.
Came here to say this!
IOS is really simple.
same, only thing i really dont like about ios is the notification system
Absolutely love your cinematography skills!
Plus as someone who often bounces between android and iOS, but still prefers Android. I relate entirely!
Man! Those aesthetic setups for b-roll shots & the shots themselves are absolute fire.
I'll say it every year... Apple fix your notifications 😅
I know! They are still AWFUL compared to Android. The most irritating thing is going in to an app... Reading the message for example, and then the notification still remains! It's SO backwards. Having to swipe away a notification you've already dealt with, just so illogical.
Yes please. This is the only thing I miss from my android days.
Apple keyboard is also so backwards without an option to resize & put a number row for more flexibility and ease to type.
Yes this is the main thing!!
My sister got the 15 recently (due to her phone contract) - so we played around with it. I am coming from various Android phones (mostly Samsungs and Nokias), my sister has had Apple phones since, uh .. i think since the Iphone 6.
What i liked:
The build quality is good, it feels solid - but it gets warm quickly (in one spot.
What i disliked:
On Android, i plug it into a PC and move my music over to the music folder. On IOS .. well, thats not working. Even with iTunes, it does not work. I did not manage to give my sister custom notification sounds at all (we tried to figure it out for quite some time, along with google tutorials and all) - and it took us quite some time to upload custom ringtones. The music is put into what appears to be random folder structures on the phone, it did not recognize audio-books .. and autoplay seems to prefer the Apple music app over 3rd party apps that we preferred (foobar2000)
Android has a LOT more free applications from what i can tell, from ad-skipping apps to simple music apps. In general - advertisement was significantly more intrusive, unskippable and annoying on IOS. (annoying meaning, it swaps screens (to the app store) multiple times, adds additional timers etc.
Our conclusion was:
She likes it very much.
You, my good sir, are a gem. I’m glad there are people who acknowledge other’s preferences instead of shitting on them.
I have opwned both for years. IOS does not popo up advertising and adds like that. Just plain lying. I have had iPhones for years and get zero pop up or ads in app. smh. seriously.
@@Techfanatic73 idk, maybe it depends on what country you are in. But IOS sure displays ads like the following:
- add a 30s (or sometimes a 59s) timer to a little video
- once the timer runs out, it will pop up the app store - where you can either install or click "done"
- when you clicked "done" it reverts back to the video, adding an additional 5s (sometimes 12s) timer
- when this timer runs out, you can usually click the "X" and you are done with it
sometimes the "X" opens the app store once more, asking you to click "done" again.
Dont believe it? fine by me.
Android does it similar btw. shifting the "X" from corner to corner, adding timers .. hiding the "mute" symbol (or not displaying one at all)
But - i have not had any 1 minute ads on Android. (not that i remember) - on IOS, getting a 59s ad is rare, but happens (about 1 in 20 maybe?)
BUT - if your experience is different .. you should be happy.
edit: just in case your pride in your gadget is (somehow?) hurt. Blame the advertiser, not the smartphone brand or OS, i guess. What you should ask yourself is - "why in the world would i lie about that?"
In my opinion, iPhones are among the best looking and best designed phones.
You got mighty defensive, like a phone is a core part of your personality.
what I love about casteify's cases is that they are stolen designs from better designers
12:20 this is the thing I've been screaming to people for years, finally someone who has influence said it out loud. You earned my respect Sam✌🏻
Here's more that iOS needs that no one wants to cover:
- Allow separate browser engines so FF or Chrome can bring their own suite of extensions and features and not simply be a Safari skin
- Allow separate apps to be set as the "default" to play media files. "Open with" is sorely missing in iOS
- Media players don't automatically rotate the screen when in full screen mode.
After 12 years being an android user, I was finally considering buying iPhone 15.
Thank you for changing my mind back 😅
I made that mistake..
Massive appreciation for the time and effort that goes into the cinematography Great video as always
That damn notch needs to go away.
Same here. Scheduling texts and absolutely awful dictation/speech to text were two other things that made me last only about a month.
The keyboard did it for me. They say that iOS 17 fixed the predictive text and swiping but it is still junk.
25w charging speed? Come on apple
That's why you should get pre order deals or just wait for great sale, that's what i usually do woth all my samsung devices, never in the rush to get them but at least apple always keep the value up
That's why you take advantage of their insane trade-in deals, store credit and storage upgrades. Gotta be smart about it 🤑
This is a problem for Samsung. For me it's great
I’ve been an Apple user for over 20 years but they really do piss me off.
Sorry man. This was the first I saw your videos. As soon as you said “channel sponsor casetify” I paused and closed it…
as someone who recently lost my iphone 13 and have started using my previous android phone , i realized how much freedom i had with android. android is those who want flexibility and customizability without the system lockdown that iphone has. with an iphone u feel good cuz ppl get the impression u are rich but thats not the case. basically iphone has the image that its a piece of jewellery that u can show off.
"ppl get the impression u are rich"
Are you serious?
Just fyi, everything you said wasn't digital zoom....is digital zoom. Both apple's "different focal lengths" and the APS-C mode on full frame cameras are quite literally digital zoom. They are cropping into the sensor on both of them, and that is the definition of digital zoom. APS-C mode is the central area of the FF sensor and you can tell because the APS-C mode yields a lower resolution than the full frame mode. Same with the iphone 15 pro/max--28 and 35mm mode are both clearly lower quality than the 24mm mode. Seems the marketing buzzwords have indeed gotten to you :)
the best cinematography i've ever seen on youtube.
11:52 They do give you an alphabetized app drawer: swipe left to get to the app library and then swipe down to get to the alphabetized drawer, inc. quick search (alas, not fully fuzzy, unfortunately).
The notification Problem is a deal breaker for me
I switched from the s23 Ultra to a iPhone 15 pro
I missed so many notifications and Even calls on IOS
And is it just me or doese the iPhone Not feel Like 120hz at all
In comparion to my s23 the iPhone feels Like 75 to 90hz never even near the Smothness of the s23
Coming from Android, this phone is the best purchase I had in years. As a mirrorless cam user, the camera is such a delight.
Same here, my mirrorless is gathering dust now most of the time since I got the 15 Pro!
iPhone notification panel is pure garbage.
Issue is if I have to spend 1000USD on a phone, I will spend it on Apple which will retain its value and last longer, over an Android
But it drives me absolutely crazy when I have to go looking for them because they moved to "history" when I haven't even looked at them and the absence of the notification icons on the status bar.
what do you mean with reliable?
Reliable? Are you sure you have the correct term? I use both and can personally say they are far from reliable.
My pixel would just decide not to give me some alerts and random.
man what's up with this insanly clean shots, amazing color grading and lighting
wait for the iphone 30 for it to support rcs and customization
🤣🤣🤣 maybe if EU forces apple again
Dude has the best animations on youtube
Action button - a couple of problems with it: 1: the position is odd and doesn’t make it easy to hand. 2: I like the silence option and was looking forward to using it for something else however they removed the silence function from back tap. lately, while customizing is nice, this kills the Notifications at the app.
It’s only odd for you
I have a 15 pro max and hold my phone with my left hand. meaning the action button is super easy for me to push.
I do wish a more interactive widgets for sure
alphatezided app drawer!!!!! YES PLEASE!!!! i cant handle myself without it...
Insane the thumbnail. First reaction: what a sick cover for an iPhone
Hmmm when the design section comes down to how less fingerprints the 15 gets compared to the 14, you realize they aren't making that much to justify the change in first place; and no the 'action button' is not the end of the world. Back tap is way more useful and easy to reach but almost no one talks about it.
Best review of this phone I've seen yet!
You make really visually appealing videos! Thanks for making such an effort.
There's so many features on the android I'm going to miss when I change over. Split screen is a big one. Haven't had an iphone since the 6.
Iphone is good but few basic Problems..
no Back Button
no Fingerprint reader
no clear app data
no numbers row on Keyboard
no easy screenshot like android
no easy notification swipe down
no Digital clock Widget
too big notch (Iphone Notch ruins Notification bar) 14 notch better than 15 island
no media volume control during call
3rd party Apps and inside app things...
@@umeshkhadka7533 Regarding your points...
Not so much of a problem for me:
1) No fingerprint reader: Iphones use Face unlock.
____________
More of a problem for me:
9) No back button: What you mean is no universal back-button like all Android phones have. Yes thats a bit annoying, but not a deal breaker for me.
10) No numbers row: yes thats also a bit annoying, but not a deal breaker for me, since I dont waste so much time on my phone anyway
____________
There is one thing that might be a deal breaker for me, and that is that you cannot use your own songs when setting alarms.
But only might be.
I will have to look into that a little more and see how to solve that problem.
____________
All in all I would say, since I have Android and Apple products and can compare, that both systems (Android vs iOS/iPadOS) are quite similar now. Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses.
Just switched to the iPhone 15 pro after being an Android user for the last 10 years +, and man… the notification system in the iPhone is Horrible, how they didn’t upgrade it yet? It’s so annoying
Tip: if you pull down in the app drawer, it will show you the apps in an alphabetical list.
This guy really deserves more views

JK, please never stop. SO clean
I've been using a Pixel as my main phone, but I also carry an iPhone. Recently got the 15 Pro Max and really enjoying it
I'm switching back to ios bec after 3 years on on android I don't trust the software with all of my information, 2. Almost all my freinds and coworkers have iphones whats app is not for me. 3. I know this is superficial but pulling out a iphone is like pulling out the lot with super nice car and android is like a nice functional Honda.
You can easily expand the functionality of the button easily with siri shortcuts.
On your comment about an alphabetized app drawer: iOS has one. On the app library section on the furthest right home screen, just swipe down.
so many youtubers every year say "i keep getting scratches on the screen" when every year i never get any.. i don't use a screen protector or anything... and am not super careful... so ether they just chuck their phone around with rocks or are doing it on purpose to advertise screen protectors...
My god that intro was amazing Sam!!
13:00 Im still using this thing ever since it's release. Best value for money ever.
Should have watched this before switching yesterday...
You can flash custom rom ig.
Siri is not the only thing where Apple is yreas back. iOS the same shit.
No lies detected. The Ecosystem is worth the Apple tax. I hadn’t even thought about calendar mgt. it is pretty slick.
What's been your favorite phone and why
Same period of usage but with 88%??? How do you charge it? Cheers
@@giuseppebonelli9512 I’m just charging regular every evening or every morning,,😀
Bring back the mini!!!! Only size the action button would work for
If only the action button was on the right side of the phone but id imagine left handed users love it
Yeah, that action button should’ve been on the right side of the phone probably right above the power switch
I'll consider switching when Apple allows sideloading apps.
You just swipe down for the alphabetized list of apps…
What a clean looking video! I should watch more of your videos!
Casetfay ????
Why
I love your aspect ratios! Looks great on my phone.
Great video and thanks for being objective. I use Mac computers for video production but switched from iPhone to Android 10 yrs ago with no regrets at all. Both great offerings on either side--whatever works for you is what I say.
Used androids for the last 13 years, grabbed the 15promac this year and its fukin awesome
That intro was sick!
I LOVE YOUR EDITING!!!! ❤
Well, what you are talking about at 9:50 is exactly what digital zoom is doing...but of course it looks better in comparison, as the non cropped image is downsized to make the others seem better.
underrated channel
I prefer Android because of an app drawer, ability to place icons and widgets anywhere on the screen and much much much better keyboard.
I did switch permanently 🎉
No idea where your notifications go but mine stay put until I dismiss them 🤔

Besides the action button you can double and triple tap the back of the phone to have more shortcuts if you want.
Ps u can also use shortcuts to allow the action button to do many different things without changing it in settings every time through some of the “iOS logic. Ex. u can have the action btton effect change depending if u are in silence, dnd, or other conditions or just have display mult widgets.
I prefer the accessibility button for those functions. Double tap seems to work when it wants to.
True but back tap is way less reliable and consistently working imo
100/100 production quality
I just can't live without androids back-gesture! ↩︎ So I'll stick with android.
