I would like to make an announcement! The friend who I mentioned in a comment 10 months ago, has come to Christ! I've visited her church and she is absolutely loving it. Had lunch with her too the other day, so much transformation in a matter of a few weeks! What makes this even better, is that she was a witch before! I've known her for 13 years and been close with her most of the time. I've only known her as a witch in Wicca. One less witch in the world now!!!! I am still in awe at it all. God is moving in ways I didn't see coming. I will update the other thread to make sure everyone who was agreeing with me sees.

Sounds like an African song...that we've been singing for decades. Just want to make sure people listening know that a lot of songs are inspired by the continent of non-western people. As you sing to God know you are joining in praise with people from a rich continent also seeking God's face. Dear Gladys, God doesn't ask you for blind surrender. Search His truth in the Bible. Come to terms what He expects of you. Search obedience. Wrestle with Him like Jacob wrestled with the Angel of the Lord. Don't be intimidated by false worship, seek His true will, He won't disappoint you. The more you learn, the more you will trust. He wants you to make a clear, sincere, cognitive, and true decision for Him. And remember, place your faith not in a feeling of ecstasy, but on His promises alone. Believe because He promised, seek His promises in silent study and private prayer.

I just literally stepped backwards and was lamenting since I had just prayed myself forward...came in here just moments ago and heard these words. A few years back my mother had a dream while she was praying about keeping the true Sabbath or not. In the dream, God showed her Muslim worship, and how sincerely their prayers were to a false god, they were really trying, but their worship is empty. Then He showed her a church very similar to Bethel Church.They were busy with sincere, roof-lifting worship, almost to the point of madness and yes - truly SINCERE in what they are doing, but the worship was empty. Then my mother heard a voice in the dream saying - "But you, keep My sabbath!".
God gives biblical guidelines in how we should obey Him and we find healing and blessing when we abide with His true and beautiful 10 Commandments, which is His law to restore peace and happiness in humanity.
Why do we try to worship God by our own measures? This is exactly what Cain did. He brought God an offering of fruit and vegetables which is not what God asked for, instead of the true obedient offering of slaying a lamb (which is also a symbol of Christ).
We may find healing for cancer by abiding in His law - by sticking to His health principles! Blessing is in obedience, not in the madness of worship. Many other false religions practice worship in the same mindset...this kind of worship tries to coax God down unto us, instead of listening and heeding to His Word. (Note all the times that God spoke in SILENCE....not in chaos.) When we open the Bible we can read it as if He is speaking directly to us, like a Father giving advice to His children.
Please, Please see Leviticus 11 on what God wants us NOT to eat, and read Ministry of Healing by E.G White...find TRUTH. He wants to bless us through obedience, he wants to bless us by overcoming, by rewriting our story. By finding knowledge....if We seek healing we need to Trust Him and the guidelines which He already revealed to us.
I am not a legalist, we are not saved by obedience, but God wants to BLESS us through obedience! Obedience is faith enhancing, love enhancing, obedience is power, obedience is a gift. Listen to Him! Don't engage in madness! Don't engage in song and worship that is made to elevate feelings but not cognition. Test this kind of worship, is it man-made, or is it what God is expecting of us? Is it an offering of Cain (that did not please the Lord) or is it the abiding offering of Abel that God described and asked for?
Wow. But about Leviticus 11 didn't the pharisees ask/accuse Jesus about what not to eat and He replied by saying it's not what goes in but comes out?

I was reading the comments to see if anyone asked or offered anything about the song at the end, as it is not usual that historical songs that belong to people who identify as black are song within spaces that are considered belonging to people who identify as white--and when they are it is seen as appropriation or problematic for various reasons.
