I use the chinese PT04 triggers, got them for $2 shipped on ebay(not a typo), have around 2,000 shots with them, They have never misfired on me. I've shot them through 2 walls, 30 feet away. Worked perfectly, I also like the built in umbrella holder. Best $2 I ever spent! but I do want to upgrade for some HSS units.

    Hi Arron,
what do you think of Yongnuo transmitters and the ishoot 100m PT-04 LCD 3in1 Speedlight/Studio Radio Flash Trigger. Plus so you know if pocket wizard has an adaptation for Sony a65

Would really help us newbies to state which item the receiver went on and which item the transmitter went on when using the wizards for strobes, camera shutters, etc.

I'm a little confused as to how the pocket wizard both received a signal on channel 1 to shutter release the camera, and that same pocket wizard sent a signal to channel 2 to trigger the one connected to the light...

Being a cheapie, I'm rollin' with Neeewer/CowboyStudio flash triggers and they've been reliable. I'm starting to learn more about using optical slaves.

I have two new pocket wizards: Plus 2x. I have an SB800 Flash for my Nikon and Speedotron Brown series power pack with my strobes. I'm experiencing the banding problem when I try to up the shutter speed to something above 350. So I just don't understand the notion that I can use my flashes and strobes for fast shutter speeds like 4000 or 8000. My power pack has radio signal operated with a little slave.

You are absolutely adorable....and so informative! Thank you so much for your very clear and in-depth demo on how to use the Pocket Wizards! I am not new to photography, been a professional for years but do mostly natural light outdoor shoots, and am just now getting into using speed lights and transmitters!...excited about learning about them and how to use them to do different variations of lighting in even my outdoor shoots. I wish you lived in Houston...I'd be at your house bugging you all the time LOL! (I'm sure I am one of hundreds that think that way). Anyway, now because of your easy to learn by tutorial, I am going to purchase and try out these transmitters...don't feel quite so intimated now...you made it so clear, something that is otherwise a bit boggling. Thanks again for your time to show us and your fun humor and great personality. Oh and don't marry your pocket wizard...I'm sure there are many gorgeous women that only wish they could be your girl ;-)....not me, I'm happily 28 years married and possibly old enough to be your Mom..or maybe your older sister by a lot lol....but I know there is a line of hopefuls somewhere wishing you'd give them some attention! I plan to check out your other tutorials....so happy I found you!

I use the mini and flex with the SB700, don't need to plug anything into the flash. Just have the mini on the camera, and the SB700 on the flex, which I have on a light stand.

I was desperately hoping you'd show how the Plus II was attached to the White Lightning. We understand the chord is attached but you can't just hang it from the back of the monolight. What's the best option. Don't find anything at the PW site. Thanks!

***** I am thinking of buying radio triggers rather soon and am thinking between PW Plus X and Phottix Strato II.
Phottix is cheaper, specswise there is basically no difference, but Phottix has a hotshoe mount which I prefer to PC Sync Cord connection. Have you tried it?

  • @Lonewolfblue66
    @Lonewolfblue66 10 ปีที่แล้ว

Love the Pocket Wizards, but I'm opposite you, my preference is the mini and flex, lol. I don't think either is better or worse than the other, it's the persons shooting style, what works best for them. The mini and flex is just as reliable as the plus2 and plus3, etc. Just a different style of shooting.

    Hey Aaron! Huge fan here!
I really respect your knowledge, and figured you’d be one of the better people to ask: is there a way to use a pocket wizard on-camera to trigger another camera’s shutter remotely? That is, not be pressing the test button, but by the shutter button of the camera I am holding?
I appreciate your time and help!

I am using the Godox AD200 or the eVolv200 in USA, I use Sekonic L358 and the 758DR, I am using these with cables with the Godox X1T -N, I would like to use the PW without the cables, is this possible the Flash works on 2.4 G and the PW on 433G, can I mount the Godox X1T-n on top of the PW? or how would you do this, The sekonic light meters work also on 433 G. Thanks for any help, Great videos always, I am living in Denmark

I have a pocket wizard plus transmitter and a pocket wizard plus ii transceiver attached to photogenic 1250. the problem is I am having trouble getting it to fire. once in a while it will fire but not all the time. when taking pressing the shutter button take a picture I can see that both the little red light comes on but does not fire the light. when I press the test button on the pocket wizard the red light will come on both of the pocket wizard. all channels are set to the same channel. I'm not sure if I am having this trouble because one is a plus and the other is a plus ii. please help!

I have a Mini TT1 and a Flex TT5, 580 exII and a 430 exII. I can't seem to trigger off camera 430 in a slave mode with my 580 off camera (on a Flex). Yes, everything is on the same channel. I'm not sure if it is even possible to do it in this way. :( I still have some digging to do, I guess.

Great video! I do all kinds of photography, but use my Wizards mostly for event photography and some studio work. I do work with the TT5s and a TT1, but have yet to declare them a piece of junk yet. Just joking. They work for me. Just bought the 600 EXT-RT, though, to compliment my 580s and the homework starts all over again!
