    This is very helpful. I'm still early in my Spanish language studies, and I'm coming to your channel more and more to find answers to questions like these.
    I also love how you tell us what is being said in Spanish, and not just the English equivalent. I've heard this quote in several versions from several attributed sources, but I love Russel Means' quote that "To learn a new language is to learn a new mind." I'm finding that other sources aren't really telling you what is being said in Spanish, but only what Spanish words are used when an English speaker would say X. For example, early on I learned that "lo siento" means" "I'm sorry". Except that it doesn't, exactly. We hear so many insincere apologies, that one might ask, "Sure, you say you're sorry, but do you feel it?". Well, "lo siento" lets you know that right away. So, I will be watching more and more of your videos, to really learn to speak Spanish.

    You explain the topics very well and to the point. I am being a teacher to the little ones, I know the efforts one has put in to the students understand the concept. Your classes are easy to understand as you do a lot comparing between similar topics used in different context. Thanks for being our language tutor and keep doing such amazing work.

    • @pedroteran5885

      De quién is whose or from whom. A quién es to whom or sometimes for whom (in those cases you could also ask para quién). For instance: "Le compré un regalo a mi hija", 'I bought a present for my daughter'.
      One subtlety: you can say 'Compré un regalo para mi hija' but if you say 'Le compré un regalo para mi hija' then 'le' no longer refers to your daughter but the person you bought the present from.

    Why is the letter 'w' used so rarely in Spanish? 🤔

    • @lindagarcia6334
      @lindagarcia6334 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hola,Yo soy española and I can tell you that we don't have any native-Spanish words with "W" and also the letter "k" the letters W and K are used only in words and names coming from foreign languages por ejemplo(Sandwich,Western,Kárate, William, kilogramo,walkman etc...)
      When it come to informal writing you can see many Spanish speakers replace letters with the "K" sound with actual Ks,you will often see "TKM" it means (Tqm: te quiero mucho)or "Ke instead of "que"
      Btw Dr.Evans is the best teacher I have ever seen in my entire life and you will never find anyone better than him..He helped me a lot to practice "English"

    Great video. I am using it with my Spanish 2 classes. Two minor details: 1. It's: "sig-ni-FI-ca", not "sig-NI-fi-ca" in your "¿Qué significa?" example. All the rest of the words are pronounced very well. 2. "¿De qué color son tus zapatos?" is not an example of "qué" + plural noun. In both examples, you have "qué" + color; "color" is a singular noun. An example of "qué" + plural noun would be: "¿Qué restaurantes prefieres?". Hope this helps! Keep making more grammar videos. (I can't seem to find your video on how to form questions in Spanish: yes/no questions [with no word order change, with inverted word order], tag questions, information questions [with interrogatives].)

    Hola many thanks for the lesson, very good, it struck me that cual (with an accent!) could be used where the group option is enormous e.g. cual es tu nombre? i.e. which is your name (out of all the names in the world!) or cual es tu direccion? i.e. which is your address (out of all the addresses in the world!). It is for me a way of making sense of the use of " cual / which" when English speakers would use 'what' in English. Does this sound like a reasonable way of keeping the use of cual separate from que in ones mind? Saludos Steve

      En segunda persona tenemos dos formas, tú/ usted (vosotros/ ustedes en plural). Usted es formal y se conjuga según la tercera persona. Por ejemplo, si vas al banco te preguntarán "¿Qué desea? [usted]" y no "¿Qué deseas? [tú]".
      Dependiendo del país, la forma habitual de referirse a un grupo de personas puede ser 'vosotros' o 'ustedes'.

    Hi sir, why do you use De? In asking De Que color son? Instead straight asking Que color son? Thanks. From Philippines.

      Good question! It's just their way of doing things. Sometimes there isn't a great explanation. It's just how it came from Latin.

      @@TheLanguageTutor Thank you for the response, I learned a lot from your lessons
      though I'm having hard to understand Spanish conversations, I'm eager to learn the Spanish language because the Philippines was once a part of Philippines-Spain history.

      In English you ask 'What colour is your car?' but you don't mean it literally since a car is not a colour. Because of that, other languages found other solutions.
      In Spanish and other languages coming from Latin, 'de' is used to represent belonging pertenence.
      ¿De quién es este coche? -> Whose is this car? [To whom does this car belong?]
      Es de Marta -> It's Marta's.
      ¿De qué familia eres? -> What's your family? [To which family do you belong?]
      ¿De qué país eres? -> What's your nationality? [To which country do you belong?]
      Yo soy de aquí -> I'm from here [I belong here.]
      ¿De qué color es tu coche? -> To which color does your car belong?
