    Viewer beware, there's some plastic shielding not shown in the video that will prevent you from getting at a safe jack point under your motor. It might have been removed already on your vehicle, but if not it will be a pain to take off.

    You do not need to remove the mount with 3 bolts just support the engine an remove engine mount from the top an install the new belt

    That is the dumbest design that you got to take off the motor mount to change a belt

      It’s all a terrible design which I think was done on purpose. I’m replacing my water pump and majority of my time is being spent just trying to access the water pump 🙄😒

      I agree! I noticed almost everywhere in the system, Chevrolet made it as difficult as could be.

    Where did the pin come from? Did you put it there? Was trying to find where you put in pin or ? Need to know ?

    • @stevew9563
      @stevew9563 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is confusing. I think what he did was take off the belt, remove the old tensioner and installed a new tensioner that had the pin in place, then he pulled the pin once the new belt was on. Would like to find a video of someone inserting a pin to hold the tensioner back like the Service Manual mentions.

      Use a screw with a single eared plastic pex attachment for a little handle

    Where exactly did you mount the jack underneath the vehicle?

    • @YOUCANIC
      @YOUCANIC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In this video, the exact jack mounting point may not be clearly shown. The location can vary between car models. We recommend referring to your vehicle's manual for specific details or you could visit our website www.youcanic.com where you can ask such car-related questions and find a wide range of resources to support your automotive journey. I am more confused, you said something about bolts being used ine time, which bolts are you referring to?also, where does the pin come from? Are you supposed to change out the tensioner as well as the belt?

    • @YOUCANIC
      @YOUCANIC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment. In the video, "one-time" bolts refer to specific bolts that must be replaced during reinstallation, and the pin is typically part of the belt tensioner system. We encourage you to visit www.youcanic.com to find detailed guides and free resources that can clarify these points further.
      Remember, your automotive DIY journey is important to us at YOUCANIC and we're here to provide necessary tools and information. We're glad you're engaging with our videos and we're always ready to assist you with all your car maintenance needs. Keep those questions coming!

    Where exactly do you place the jack under the engine? On the oil sump? I suppose that could deform it.

    • @YOUCANIC
      @YOUCANIC  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your question! Correct jack placement is crucial for safety and depends on the make and model of your vehicle. While some vehicles require jacking under the engine, others require different placements. The oil sump is not typically a safe or correct spot. Visit www.youcanic.com/ for detailed instructions based on your specific car model or reach out directly on our website, we're here to empower and guide you in your car maintenance journey.

    Does that pin come with the new tensioner? And why do you need to replace the tensioner?

    • @YOUCANIC
      @YOUCANIC  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment! Whether the pin comes with the new tensioner depends on the specific part kit you purchase. Replacing the tensioner is important to ensure the correct tension in the system for efficient operation. More information can be found on our website, www.youcanic.com.
