I'd love to see a video of you talking about how far you should go as a DM. Like deaths for NPCs players are really attached to, NPC spouses of players cheating, things like that. It'd be a great way to get ahead of a lot of projects too.

One package have 4 plates 1265mm x 615mm x100mm (thicknes is variable) and costs about 58,85€ ( 86,1738 cad) i'll have to cut it a little to fit the packagesize of 120cmx60cmx60cm
If you pay The foam i'll pay The shipping. Sorry but i can not afford both.

@blackmagiccraft I spent a home brew session in a tavern last week. Where a regular in the town was cursed and decided to enter stage left and begin to one shot kill all the townspeople NPC's which were given to the PC's to play/control before anyone knew what was going on. The curse was strong and it took us 5 hours to stop the madness. Murder weapons were two cursed wands that seemed like level 15 Eldrich wands with reaction bursts. Thanks to forgeworld for the incredible tavern set, it was a good time.

That book gave me fits due to a typo in deities and demi gods. What's the obscure evil gods favorite weapon? "Check ToEE" do you know how long I spent trying to figure out what kind of weapon that was!? All I could find was threads of people also trying to find out until I found the answer is it was a note the guy doing the table left behind that accidentally got printed. Check ToEE, or Check Temple of Elemental Evil. AAARRGGHHH!

I watch this channel for wargaming terrain ideas, we play all our TTRPG games over Roll20 because we don't all live in the same US states. But dang, our tavern map almost always gets the most use! I know in-person gaming would be different, but we would have a very different experience without the very carefully detailed tavern map we all use! This looks amazing and I guess I'm just going to binge the whole channel.

  • @seranonable
    @seranonable 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I used terrain not just for combat but also for dioramas and stuff as we play. Like if the players camp they set up camp and we put the little fire on while we roleplay the night time and stuff, even if there won't necessarily be an ambush. It's a good way to keep the players imagination stimulated. So I could see a tavern being useful for that sort of thing... especially if you have lots of cozy lighting and music to go along with it.

Now after working my way through the videos I want to make *all the stuff* just because it looks so fun and cool! ....I love the creativity with the windows in this and some of the other videos and the thought occurred to me about using frosted glass spray on clear cellophane which would allow for some light translucency without actually being able to see through it. I do like the colored stained glass look, but in some cases having the windows not block out all the light could be nice too.

Since this is a more stage-esque build, I recommend turning the two side walls out in a more 30-45 degree angle. It will allow all the players to see the complete set and since you are trying to not show off the back sides, you can hide them better. I work at my high school on set builds and that's just what we do in order to hide the back sides better. Awesome job on this I love them!

Looks like your last guest on the show has really helped you step up your game. Those wood planks look way better than the last ones I remember seeing from you. Now I gotta step my game up, because I learned how to do planks from you in the first place. Cheers!

It's on my to do list. Just below the playboy mansion. The list of many unfinished projects. I really need to pull my finger out. Got all the interior bits even a nice 3D printed bar from eBay. All painted. All I need is the bricks n mortar.
Love the nice light pine finish you get. Looks lovely.
Think that's my Bar man moonlighting at your gaff.

Well done, Jeremy! I think it is not only a "set piece" for photographs, I would actually use it for storing / parking & presenting miniatures between games.

I keep noodling around with the idea of a modular tavern set. It's true that you don't need one particular tavern all that often, but over the span of your campaign-- and later campaigns, you'll need lots of taverns every once in a while. So if you have all the bits and a few large pieces you can shift around, you could create different taverns really quickly. Maybe one's just a big, open hall and another one is lots of small rooms all mashed together haphazardly, and another one is mostly open-air on a busy market street.
The same wall sections would also work for different kinds of urban buildings like shops or houses.
Having a few big pieces - like the bar counter or a stage for entertainers - would make the setup faster.

I was planning build some nice tavern. Not for RPG, because we do not use miniatures or terrains in pen&paper play, but for skirmish wargaming. So nice interior, I have to figure out also exterior :D

Yanno, I'd have painted a few splotched stains on the tavern floor. Like dried blood. (weg)
For a little more authenticity; leaded in roundals were the common men's window panes.
I went into our local game store here in Naples, Fl, WarHammer. I had a fig I wanted further identification on, unfortunately they couldn't help me. Turns out all figs are either resin or plastic these days. Seeing a metal fig was a unique experience for them. So for a while I entertained them with experiences of "back when".

Thanks so much for the time and energy that you invested into sharing your your skills and tips for building miniature terrain. I wish I could say I’m the newest Pattron supporter yet that is not in my deck of cards. I use the amazon link to help where I can. Being a DM that depends upon a wheelchair this hobby of building my own terrain is very relaxing and highly enjoyed for someone that has a ok knowledge of hand built furniture from the 1800s . Again I’m so happy that I stumbled upon your channel and site.

i feel so inspired by this !!! It turned out so nice, I can easily see this as a super useful piece for many quick and easy to set up indoor events! so so fun, this is definitely on my to-do list now. And I loved to see you using gerard's technique ! Hopefully I can find the green foam here in Europe :3

FYI the vallejo wash is a dipping formula, so its a bit thicker than say a regular wash like nuln or sepia or agrax...I believe with a dipping technique you shake off the excess as with using army painter stains... but I routinely use these vallejo washes, particularly for colouring fine yellow basing sands and grits... the sepia and black mixed 1:1 make a good agrax equivalent. if youre going use on a model as paint on wash I thin them a little first,

Maybe adding paper with different grey tones or grey scale trees / branches behind the stained glass could have added an illusion of depth or an 'outside' to the build. That's just minor details though, I think it looks absolutely awesome! Started following Gerard after your video together, never knew I had such a master living practically next door!

Thinking about it, the design of this set piece is kind of like the older modular terrain pieces videos. If the pieces were only temporarily fastened instead of permanently glued, then they'd be reusable for other assemblies. Swap the floor to make a stone floor tavern. Swap one or more walls for something other than a tavern. Pin a new wall into the middle for two smaller adjacent rooms. *If* that foam is strong enough to hold up, then the thinness of the pieces would mean that they wouldn't be horribly inefficient to store disassembled and stacked. You'd might need to work out a decent fastening system that could handle multiple assemblies and disassembles without damaging the pieces though.
