My wife's Samsung almost twice the price barely lasts 2 days Bought the Redmi note 8 pro about a year before that, and that's still going, no issues. Xiaomi is pretty good brand, a lot of performance for fraction of status phones

Since my previous comment, I went ahead and bought this exact model, even the color. I love the way it looks in person, and how light it is one wrist. In the basics, it does good. I mean, all the essentials are there, and unless you're not obsessed with medical-grade tracking, you're fine. I bought mine on eBay, used in excellent condition, for 50 Euros. You can't go wrong, really, with that price.
Great video! Just a basic question: can you still control the music while using another app? Like skipping a song while running or using the cronometer. I think this is one of the major limitations of the MiBand, where you need to close and reopen again each app every time

Hey mate, excellent question, but I will have to disappoint you - no games and apps for ths one available. There are some apps for Wear-OS based watches (like TIcwatch, Galaxy Watch 4, etc). Ot maybe the older Galaxy watches based on Tizen.
Great review. I am curios, though, how well push notifications work and how much did you manage to test it? As a sports fan, I am thinking if some live scores notification would be able to get through to the watch?
Yes you can get live score alerts through Google, just search for your team then click follow, when your team are playing you will get live alerts of kick off, goals, half & full time ect.

Hi @Tech4All. I am interested in Xiaomi Mi Watch, or Huawei GT2, or something else that you could suggest. The main fittures that I need, except for the sports/fitness, is the sleeping monitoring and breath (and even respiration) monitoring. I have read that the GT2 has not only time of deep/light/etc sleep, but also shows indications e.g. for apnea. Can you confirm it? And also, does the Mi Watch has similar apps? It interests me a lot. You are looking at quite advanced data for sleeping and I'm not quite sure if it supports it. But I remember that breathing during sleep is now being measured by the devices supporting the Zepp app (mostly amazfit devices)
Great review! Which one would you choose, this one or Amazfit GTR 2? I have read somewhere that GTR 2 has problem with weather widget, it doesn't refresh, does Mi Watch have that problem?
If you keep the location services ON, the widget should well refresh. Both devices are wonderful. The Mi Watch may be a bit more accurate in terms of GPS tracking.

Hi I’m using MI Watch color, for around 2 months now and I would like to share my experience with this watch: I will mention only bad things. The App is very poor, considering all the hardware possibilities that this watch has in it. Plenty space to improve the app and the stats of workouts. There is no option to initiate/to start manually from watch or from app the HR monitoring or Stress. Alexa is not working in my region, Balkans. Auto detect mode - doesn’t work. No option to connect with other accounts such as Strava, Google fit etc. Sleep tracking not so accurate. In some sports activities like in swimming HR sensor doesn’t measure at all. You cannot connect with wireless headphones. Battery life 6-8 days not any more.
Is there a similar smartwatch that also has GPS, smart assistant and also music storage that isn't too expensive around this price range? (Don't need 3rd party apps or payment)
Do I need to always keep the watch app open? If i log out from the app but leave bluetooth on, is watch still connected to the phone, or logging out of the app disonnect watch from the phone?

Many watches do my friend but there has to be a choice in the market. Many people don't want a speaker on their watch, so why have one built in when it can be taken out and the price be reduced. All the best.
@@DeneF I guess it all comes down to, what you are looking for and how you are going to use it. So many choices and options out there. I personally like to have options to answer my calls on my phone or watch.
Well - it's about priorities. This one seems to be a bridge between trackers and smartwatches and does the job right. I guess the main competitor will be the Huawei Watch Fit.
Many people don't use all those features, hell, most of my friends with Apple Watches only called or did stuff the first few weeks after purchase. AAAND you get a huge battery life out of these, for me this is almost perfect, wish there was NFC and you could switch albums.

I think it is more comparable to Stratos 3 or T-rex Pro as the most alluring feature it sports is Firstbeat. Watches that have that easily cost between $200-$550. This watch is not intended as a Smartwatch but a Fitness watch. Great review, if you could cover the durability aspects more (like how well does it hold up against water or shock damage) that'd be superb! Thanks!
Hi Mihail. On the app it says I can link Strava as a connected app. How do I sync my workouts to the Strava app? I also believe Strava works on the Amazfit GTR2 and 2E. Is this correct?
Hey Michael, thanks for the comment. I haven't used the Strava option on Xiaomi Wear Yet - but I believe workouts get automatically synced. As for Amazfit - you are right - the Zepp app supports the feature since a long time.
Hi again Mihail I’ve since bought one of these and have noticed an issue with the GPS. It takes a while for it to connect when outside but if the Application is open on my phone it connects straight away. Surely that cannot be right as that sounds like connected GPS?
Hey Michael, thanks for your comment. Often the GPS on the watch is being supported by the GPS in the phone in order to quickly lock position. When the phone is away, it should also work - the usual time it takes is between 15 and 60 seconds if there are not too many buildings around. Anything more than that will make me think of a hardware problem.
Hi again Mihail another issue I’ve had is the music controls. Sometimes the watch disconnects from the phone when on a workout and I can’t control music on my phone. Did you encounter anything like this during use?

@@khalidoudra I would search on tech forums, I know that there is a Russian mod called m0rtal v1.2 (as I am using it right now) it added cyrillic support to the chinese versions for example, they are now working on adding Alexa voice assistant. I didn't research it well enough, but I am sure there are others too!
Partially, just 140 characters. The Mi Watch released in India even had a problem when there are 2 or more Whatsapp messages it would just show "3 messages from 2 chats" without possibility to actually see the messages. Same with the Chinese version that came out a year ago, Xiaomi didn't fix any bugs.
@@s-plus that's shitty. I was hoping this version would show the full message. So there's not much difference from the Watch Color, right? Is it worth the price difference?
@@DJdiSouZa Maybe Xiaomi fixed this in the EU version, you need to check this, but they didn't fix it in the Indian version even a year after the Chinese version. Obviously they can't be trusted to "fix" issues. EU version is actually cheaper.

@@DJdiSouZa I've had the Indian Mi Watch version, and I have both the Honor Magic 2 and Samsung Active 2. For the notifications the Samsung is definitely by far the best, because the notifications are the longest and you can actually reply to them. It also displays pictures in Whatsapp notifications. Mi Watch has a nice and accurate stress tracking, much better than Honor or Samsung, and an OK sleep tracking, better than Samsung. But that's about it. The deal breakers are the buggy raise to wake feature (often lights up when it shouldn't, and you have to raise your hand really high for the watch to light up) and very short range Bluetooth connection with your phone. Honor has a much better app than the other two.

There's no GPS inside and it won't accurately track all that. If you need such a function look for a smartwatch with GPS function.

I usually try only a few specific modes which I know how perform on different watches. These that I've tried are well working.
You would think a watch in 2020 would have a speaker and you could make calls on it. Lots of key item's missing on this watch. Nice job on the video.
Many watches do my friend but there has to be a choice in the market. Many people don't want a speaker on their watch, so why have one built in when it can be taken out and the price be reduced. All the best.
@@DeneF I guess it all comes down to, what you are looking for and how you are going to use it. So many choices and options out there. I personally like to have options to answer my calls on my phone or watch.
Well - it's about priorities. This one seems to be a bridge between trackers and smartwatches and does the job right. I guess the main competitor will be the Huawei Watch Fit.
Many people don't use all those features, hell, most of my friends with Apple Watches only called or did stuff the first few weeks after purchase. AAAND you get a huge battery life out of these, for me this is almost perfect, wish there was NFC and you could switch albums.

There is no gallery option. As for battery life - it is discussed in the video. You can expect between 4 and 7 days with normal usage.
I think it is more comparable to Stratos 3 or T-rex Pro as the most alluring feature it sports is Firstbeat. Watches that have that easily cost between $200-$550. This watch is not intended as a Smartwatch but a Fitness watch. Great review, if you could cover the durability aspects more (like how well does it hold up against water or shock damage) that'd be superb! Thanks!

Hi Mihail. On the app it says I can link Strava as a connected app. How do I sync my workouts to the Strava app? I also believe Strava works on the Amazfit GTR2 and 2E. Is this correct?
Hey Michael, thanks for the comment. I haven't used the Strava option on Xiaomi Wear Yet - but I believe workouts get automatically synced.
As for Amazfit - you are right - the Zepp app supports the feature since a long time.
@Tech4All when you swipe right and you see the heart rate widget, can you swipe up and see all the information, or you must go at menu->heart rate?

It has quick view from the widget! The widget has a heart icon which opens the expanded up when pressed. Same goes for every other widget

Hi again Mihail I’ve since bought one of these and have noticed an issue with the GPS. It takes a while for it to connect when outside but if the Application is open on my phone it connects straight away. Surely that cannot be right as that sounds like connected GPS?

Often the GPS on the watch is being supported by the GPS in the phone in order to quickly lock position.
When the phone is away, it should also work - the usual time it takes is between 15 and 60 seconds if there are not too many buildings around. Anything more than that will make me think of a hardware problem.
Hi again Mihail another issue I’ve had is the music controls. Sometimes the watch disconnects from the phone when on a workout and I can’t control music on my phone. Did you encounter anything like this during use?

It's not possible to upgrade officially, but there are modded apk's that lets you get extra languages and stuff

@@khalidoudra I would search on tech forums, I know that there is a Russian mod called m0rtal v1.2 (as I am using it right now) it added cyrillic support to the chinese versions for example, they are now working on adding Alexa voice assistant. I didn't research it well enough, but I am sure there are others too!
The messages (SMS, messenger, whatsapp, etc) appear fully or partially?
Partially, just 140 characters. The Mi Watch released in India even had a problem when there are 2 or more Whatsapp messages it would just show "3 messages from 2 chats" without possibility to actually see the messages. Same with the Chinese version that came out a year ago, Xiaomi didn't fix any bugs.

@@DJdiSouZa Maybe Xiaomi fixed this in the EU version, you need to check this, but they didn't fix it in the Indian version even a year after the Chinese version. Obviously they can't be trusted to "fix" issues. EU version is actually cheaper.
@@s-plus that's why I'm waiting for this global Mi Watch version to come out. Because for the price it seems a really nice option comparing with the Amazfit GTR 2 or the Honor Magic Watch 2. But as a social media guy that I am, I want to make sure i get a watch that can read full messages.
@@DJdiSouZa I've had the Indian Mi Watch version, and I have both the Honor Magic 2 and Samsung Active 2. For the notifications the Samsung is definitely by far the best, because the notifications are the longest and you can actually reply to them. It also displays pictures in Whatsapp notifications.
Mi Watch has a nice and accurate stress tracking, much better than Honor or Samsung, and an OK sleep tracking, better than Samsung. But that's about it. The deal breakers are the buggy raise to wake feature (often lights up when it shouldn't, and you have to raise your hand really high for the watch to light up) and very short range Bluetooth connection with your phone. Honor has a much better app than the other two.

Depends on your phone's localization. If you are based in the USA - it will show Fahrenheit.
