I mean, it's very straightforward for Thom's usual ermetic writing; he hates us, he despises us for never letting him change into a different person and a different artist; he's the singer of Radiohead, and that's a heavy burden to bear, I feel like this song is about that. This means two things: he's doing this concerts as a salute, as a slow goodbye to Radiohead and their legacy; or maybe, he's really "back in the game", and he's accepting the burden of returning back to their old songs, even if he feels a bit like a marionette, and he fears of repeating himself. Anyhow, it's a very bitter song; I hope, whatever path he chooses, that it won't feel like suffocating endeavour.
