Hey! I wanted to ask about in measure 2, does the d sharp carry over to the d at the end of that measure (one octave higher) or no? I’m confused cus every video I watch plays d natural but my director say it is d sharp
@@TboneIliyas great question! Not to overrule your director, but the short answer is no. Sometimes accidentals will carry to different octaves, but not in this case. D natural fits much better in the context of the key there. And that triplet figure that contains the high D repeats itself in measure 3 with no sharp marking in front of it. The D# that is marked works well in the context of F# minor, which is the main key of the etude, but towards the end of measure 2 we move into A major for the next couple measures, so D natural makes more sense melodically in that case. Bit of a long answer, but I’m a theory nerd. What can I say? 😂🤓

Sounds great! I would say try not to cut off the notes too much at the beginning, and make sure it’s at tempo and not too quick.
