Beautiful mansions. They just did a fabulous tour of the Alfred Pillsbury mansion on the Homeworthy TH-cam channel. The new owners are fantastic. Just wanted to share that with you.
Yes, I would love to see a second installment. I lived in Minneapolis for nearly 40 years. I would love to see how the interiors of the mansion have survived.
Idea for future video if possible: "Kitchens thru time". Start with oldest available photos of the kitchens of these mansions up to present to see how they changed over the years. Just a thought.
Hewitt & Brown are credited with the design, but I believe they were the local architect of record, and that Horace Trumbauer designed it. Some of the interior paneling is antique, and supplied by Charles of London, who was Charles Duveen, brother of Lord Duveen.
I love that he used his wealth to help his workers who had helped to make him wealthy.

Homeworthy just posted a video of the remaining Pillsbury mansion, recently restored. It's GAW JESS! And yes, it's again a private home.

I walk by two of these mansions all the time. The pictures shown for 2200 Stevens Ave. don't look like the house the is currently there.
I’ve been by it too. Still beautiful
I live a block away from all the Pillsbury mansions that still exist. Most are taken over by nonprofits or organizations.
Too bad the other brother didn`t win the coin toss- the first mansion might still be standing.
Ted Pillsbury, a director of the Kimbell Art Museum, committed suicide, proving that dough doesn't buy happiness.
OK. Let's see if > get bullied on this posting?
Certainly, let's see the other side of the family and their homes.
Another beautiful mansion gone, this is just getting to be a depressing to watch these.
