For anyone who is confused about the length or measurement, you just have to open the compass at any length but it should be greater than the radius of the circle thats it (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧ thats the basic method of making a 90° angle
When he does the thing where he's got lil arch's intersecting on opposite sides outside the circles perimeter in order to find the "Equator" - Does it matter what angle the compass it set at/the distance between the needle & pencil when making those initial marks to draw that centerline through? It seemed kind of arbitrary the way it was done. I'm running under the notion that the compass angle does not have to be anything super mathmatical. Assuming the compass is locked in at the same degrees for every mark & that the angle is wide enough to reach the outside of the circle - a range of angles set on the compass can be used to make those intersecting points which are used to draw the "Equator", Yeah? Anyone got the answer to that?
