Hi everyone enjoy your day! 💞
It's a beautiful day!⛰️
Thanks for the trip! The bark on those trees look like the bark I have seen snakes hide in😬
Thanks for all your videos. This area is so familiar as we stayed at Big River RV Park for 10 years in the winter. Nice to see as we don't go anymore.
Thanks for watching!
Very interesting, Russ. My family lived on the Mojave (Northern end) for a short stint while my dad helped install the transmission line all the way to Bishop, in the 1940’s. Nifty experience for all us kids.
Very cool!
Sir, your voice is so relaxing, your videos help turn me out from a cruel world. Thank you so much! Ron
You are very welcome
Thanks for the ride along, enjoyed. Really nice drone footage. So nice to see the turquoise water, beautiful. A lot of history in a short distance. Glad some of Cross Roads was saved, and the Earp house. 🙂👍
Thanks for watching
This has been an amazingly informational trip through an area that I have passed through many times. Thanks for taking the time.
Thanks Russ for all the great pictures and information you give us on your travels. Been a fan and follower for many years now.
Thanks 👍
Great journey. I miss that area from back in the early 2000's. I was a younger bird then. Now I'm close to retirement. Man oh man ..how time flies...
Another great video Russ. Thanks again.
Thanks
Here is what the plaque at the Earl home says:
Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp
1848 - 1929
Josephine Sarah Marcus Earp
1861 - 1944
Earp Cottage
Vidal, California
The legendary lawman, gun-fighter, gambler, businessman and miner along with his wife, Josephine, inhabited this "dream - come - true" cottage from 1925 - 1928. During the fall, winter and spring months, while he worked his "Happy Days" mines in the Whipple Mountains a few miles north of this site. This is the only permanent residence they owned in their long lives together.
Their ashes are buried in the Hills of Eternity Memorial Park, Colma, California
Erected 2002 by Billy Holcomb Chapter, E. Clampus Vitus. (Marker Number 108.)
Bravo......metal dector....gold n bars......stores.........cheers
Thanks Russ for bringing us along for another journey!! Have you ever considered the Motherlode of California for a visit?
Thanks for sharing enjoyed the video great ride and safe travels.🚗
Thanks 👍
Wyatt had to have walked in that building. Great video
too bad Wyatt Earp's house is not open to the public. It would have been interesting to see the inside.
SuzyAnn.
Road Trip!!!😎🙏🏼
I've got a home in Parker that I plan to retire in. I go dove hunting around Agnes Wilson crossing and Poston area every year. Gotta sell the house in CA. Time to leave that state of confusion.
Always enjoy 🎉 Greg from Boston ma
Great video of a pretty drive. Something both sad and comforting going down the road today. Thank you.
I love the history that giving us of the area and all the information regarding the whole area you’re doing good keep it up
Thank you I enjoyed this one very much!

*Beautiful!*
That was a great video
Such a crazy tree, I bet most people drive right by
Hi Russ yes your first turn off with big tree limb is where we spent the day watch the boats
I wonder why that Vidal Jct restaurant can't stay open?
The big trees look like Saltcedar (tamarisk). It's non-native and invasive. They grow fast and live up to 100 years. Not very good trees though. They are water hogs and can really dry up an area.
❤❤
That tree is a invasive salt cedar,if you taste the needs from it ,they are from Russia or somewhere else things will tear up your waterlines and your sewer lines in your streets of your cities like they did here, lol thanks buddy merry Christmas thanks BigAl California
Wonder who owns the old Wyatt Earp home? Is it the State of california, his decendants or some historical society. Sure a desolate place to live in your later years.
Where is Earp California from where you were at.
Sorry you just added Earp to your travels.
That is not a resort its a fancy trailer park.😂
YOU'RE HAVING A CAMPER I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY COULD BELIEVE THAT YOU DIDN'T HAVE FOOD IN THERE
Used to waterski on the river at Parker. My uncle Bill had a mobile home on the California side. Did a lot of motorcycle riding in those hills. This was in the 70's. Man,, I love the Mohave desert! Thanks for the great video.
I was a trucker for years & years. Rolled through Vidal Jnt many, many times. Had no idea Wyatt Erp had a house there. He came to Dodge City KS in the 1870's same time my great grandfather was there as a blacksmith and sheriff. Wyatt refused to hang up his gun with the bartender so they fetched the sheriff (Peter Walter Beamer). Refused him too. So he got decked to the ground! But then, P.W. helped him back to his feet and they were good friends from then on. P.W. died in 1924 or '25 in San Diego, Calif. My dad was born in '23 so didn't really know him. But Wyatt ended up in California eventually as well. P.W. was born in 1842 and I believe Wyatt was a bit younger. Seems like he stuck to those forlorn places of the West (Tucson, AZ, Goldfield, NV, Vidal, CA). Vidal Junction sure has changed since I last saw it. But that check station has been there since dirt!! Yeah, that would be a grim duty station to be sure! Thanks for the great video. I really enjoyed it! Take good care.
Great history Allen.. thanks for sharing.
😁that's as close as Wyatt Earp could get to az. Without being arrested for murder form the tombstone Era, great job Mr. Russ ✌
Wyatt Earps Homestead, Awesome, Thanks for sharing, RVerTV Russ.👍
I LOVE how you insert your route and map into these great videos. Wow. Gettin' the itch for a road trip! Also appreciate your newsletter, information and puzzles. Thanks much, Russ!
Love your videos, I was wondering when you crossed the Colorado River back into Arizona what was growing in those green fields
not sure. they grow year round there different crops
Not having ventired west of TX, it's ALWAYS interesting to ride with you. Maybe if I find a convoy, I'll come see for myself. 😊
I’m definitely taking this drive 🤠👍 very cool. Thanks for the ride 💕
Have fun!
So cool.. love Wyatt Earp history
You were friends with my dad huh russ. I still remember the day he showed me his old house
Love all your TH-cam videos. Our parents used to take us kids to the Parker Strip in the 60's. We stayed at Big Bend. The drone footage was incredible! As kids we would jump off the cable tower into the River. They took to tower down but you can still see the concrete pad in your drone footage. We hiked to many mines behind Big Bend Resort. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Thanks 👍
Thanks Russ. How many miles you have on your van now?
Good day, Russ ! Hope you are doing well. Thank you for sharing. God Bless 🙏
Nice video Russ. Wyatt Earp passed away in Los Angeles in January, 1929. The home in Vidal was his winter home, where he lived with his common-law wife, Josephine Marcus.
Great video Russ..Parker-Earp is a great place..used to keep an older Airstream at Wheeler Inn since 1979...just sold it and the Rogers jet boat off in 2020...I miss the river....and I miss the Airstream and the Rogers....good times lol.
when we lived in parker and would drive to visit family in burbank this is how we went, could not tell you how many times i drove that road and never knew about the house. great job
You are right Russ this was a great trip/ video I love the Colorado river and everything along the way thank you
Can you imagine how much water they would save if they covered those aqueducts? With solar panels. Could even put little generators in them. Would sure cut down on the evaporation. 😊
Interesting travels today, thanks a bunch. My grandson's middle name is Wyatt after Wyatt Earp.
Very cool!
THANKS!
beautiful, beautiful!🤔👍👍🤗🌴
I love the stories of the American Old West. Thanks for stopping by Wyatt's old house, he had a mining claim in California as well.
Awesome thank s Russ got some more places to check out thanks 🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦🛠️👍👍
All the resorts past Bullfrog are on the C.R.I.T. Reservation (Colorado River Indian Tribes) and the leases are comming up due soon and rumor has it they will not be renewd.
I had a trailer at Lost Lake Resort from the 70's thru the 90's. Interesting how the names of the local area has changed. So many good memories. Thanks Russ.
Thanks for the great drone shots. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching
@@rvertv I always enjoy watching your videos.
Thanks Russ!!! Love this. Did you go there before long ago? Sounds familar. Have you been to Zzyzzx and out that way? Amboy or Roy's?
Absolutely love your videos … Just roam in’ and exploring all around!!! .. My favorite pastime … Thank you 😀😀❤️❤️💯💯🙏🙏🌹🌹🤠🤠🌴🌴🌴🌴🌵🌵
Again. Thank you Russ . I appreciate you 🇺🇸🤠
Very welcome
We drove that road many many times, did not know about Wyatt Epps home was so close. At the Vidal Junction, wasn't there a big Rooster on the roof of one of those buildings? We have parked there beside the truckers many times to have lunch , of course in our MH.
I just went south on that road in August, this year. And September thru' Parker on the other side.
It's sad when a town dies. Many people don't realize just how good small-town living can be, but the kids seem to always want to leave for the big city. Thanks for the tour, Russ, Mike in Oregon.
Thanks for the tour That was cool
Awesome video!!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you 🤗
@@rvertv
You're welcome
Sounds like you miss your best friend, your dog?
Yes I do
Excellent video as usual. Does anyone know what kind of tree that was in the first part of the video?
Cool places love it 👍
Thanks 👍
10 out of 10
There was more to see in Vidal. The next street over in back of Wyatt Earp's home was an old store and other ruins. We've also been to his Lucky Day mine. Not much to it. A hole in the ground. Someone owns the claim as of two years ago, but it's just open.
Don't understand why Wyatt and his common law wife(I'm guessing) would live there especially in the summer
Just a word of warning YOU must have cash or check for LTVA permits!
You mentioned there was a camp host at the visitor center. Is there camping there?
I swam in the Colorado River
Good one
Thanks
Thank you Russ. It was a short but fun trip. What Wyatt Earps was doing there in the middle of nowhere? Did he run another casino?
He was mining silver.
👍👍👍👍👍
The Way Its Painted It Looks Native Owns It Very Beautiful Colors And Nice Area. Thank You For Showing On Video ❤
Love the video, I used to truck through there back in the day on 95 and then my in-laws had a place in Yuma when they were alive all the trips making through there I didn’t know about Wyatt Earps Homestead in Vidal California, thank for sharing Russ !
I have visited a couple of gold mines owned by Wyatt Earp.
The nearest mine was a few miles west of the Big River entrance and a few miles north of that location.
I would suggest only using a high profile 4x4 vehicle in that rugged area equipped with all terrain tires or mud hens tires.
Wyatt Earp the controversial famous sheriff of Tombstone. Like one poster here said that likely this home was a winter home because the summer's there along that river are incredibly hot. He most likely was running away from arrest for murder otherwise I believe he would have stayed in the town of Tombstone because of weather there is by far more moderate.
I'm quite sure that little town was up and running when he bought that house.
SO DID WYATT ON THE HOUSE UP FRONT WITH THE METAL ROOF OR THE HOUSE OR BUILDING BROWN COLORED ONE IN THE BACK YARD??????
I love your channel. Watching from Raleigh, Nc
WELL I REMEMBER GOING UP AND DOWN WAS IT 93 OR 95 WHATEVER IT IS COUNTLESS TIMES FROM BULLHEAD CITY TO ALGODONES SO MY PARENTS COULD HAVE THEIR TEATH WORKED ON AND MINE CLEANED THEN RUSH UP TO LAS VEGAS SO MY DAD COULD GO TO THE VA I WE WENT SO OFTEN IT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY AS I WAS THE ONE DOING ALL THE DRIVING

They are called Drops to allow natural water flow to cross the canal. each is numbered in each county.
Hope you come through Missouri some time.
Russ, we live in Havasu, you just gave us a road trip. Thanks
