    Thank you! I've been shooting Nikons (APS-C) since 2007 and decided to move up to full-frame. Problem is, I have not been able keep up with the changes in technology. Consequently, much of what other reviewers talk about goes over my head.
    I was looking at the Nikon Z6ii as it is $1000 cheaper than the Z6iii. However, your video addressed many of the pain points I've experienced with other cameras.
    Consequently, I will be getting the Z6iii. Thanks again.

    Great intro! Please do compare pixel shift vs traditional exposure bracket HDR. That would be very valuable info!
    I also have a Z6 and considering Z6iii, so any additional comparisons are appreciated. Most reviewers want to do the Z6ii to Z6iii comparison, but i bet there are more Z6 shooters out there considering Z6iii than Z6ii shooters.

    Nice video. I'd like to know how the EVF compares. I stayed away from the Z6 and Z7 because the EVF resolution seemed too low. Looks like the Z6 III might have fixed that.

      @@randydod evf was excellent on the old one too.. new one is superb.. no reason to not buy the new z6iii.. slightly higher price but video specs are so good that everything is justified.. you won’t feel you are missing anything serious even if you don’t upgrade for the next 7-8 years

    My man you can liner focus with adjustable levels on Z6ii.
    Just a heads up.
    Good luck with the Z6iii 🫡

    I am curious to know why you didn’t go for a z7ii with more megapixels as a landscape photographer

      I did make a video on why I ended up going with the Z6 III which you can find here: th-cam.com/video/MwlPRxTv7u4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=z-sCruIBMu8AANEg

      Clearly I don't think the Z6 III is the best landscape camera, for sure the z7 ii is better in almost every aspect, however the Z6 III fit my overall needs much better. Landscape photography is a major part of my imaging needs, but so is content creation and the Z6 III has so many features that hits the content side and I felt like landscape photography isn't as "feature intensive" as other niches and felt like the Z6 III would do just fine (and honestly it's been amazing thus far).

    Curious if dynamic range could be improved through a software update? I shoot nature (wildlife and landscape), traded my Zf in to the Z6iii for the ergonomics. I could really care less for video. What would be really cool is if Nikon could let us customers do a “build your own” camera. Good info you gave and thanks so much.

      Tony Northcott did a very good test on this camera and the dynamic range is terrible. Please do not buy this camera for landscape photography. Do not do it. Please do not do it. There are so many better options for landscape photography. In fact I'm using a GFX50s ii and dynamic range is incredible. I would purchase a Nikon Z7 ii

    • @williambuford6136
      @williambuford6136 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That Dynamic range is baked into sensor technology. Stacked and HalfStacked will have less DR than BSI only sensors. You are trading focusing speed for some DR at base ISO. Once you get to ISO 800 you are as good or better than other BSI sensors, like the D750 and D780. Also your exposure setting will impact your DR.

    Quite honestly the partially stacked sensor seems like a big compromise to improved scan speed. I would hope the they put the old BSI sensor with exceed 7 in an upgraded Z5 II like the ZF that would give the same DR. Honestly I can live the rolling shutter in the video I shoot and 20FPS electronic shutter is not a need for me. The dream machine would be the Z8/9 Sensor in the Z6 III body fully stacked sensor with less compromise and decent size and weight body.

    • @Jviotr
      @Jviotr หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Same. Hoping the Z5II is basically a Zf in contemporary body, maybe $1599. I think the Zf will drop in price soon.

    • @nightowlnzab
      @nightowlnzab หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Of course it's a compromise, and an intentional one on the part of Nikon - to increase that readout speed, enabling less rolling shutter and some of the best video specs in it's class - at a lower cost than the Z8/9. What a lot of people are conveniently ignoring in this whole DR drama, is that the Z6 III has almost identical DR performance to the Z8/9!

    • @plusplus940
      @plusplus940 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      On the charts, the Z8/Z9 DR is basically the same or even worse DR as the Z6iii at the same iso (the Z8 can go down to 64 tho)

    • @williambuford6136
      @williambuford6136 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So you would want a Z7iii with Expeed 7 with a BSI sensor so you have better focusing modes but not worry about highspeed frame rates. Nikon Created a slightly faster 24MP BSI sensor for the ZF. Maybe There will be a ZF ii that will have what you want. That camera has been very popular.(By the way a fully stacked sensors still has about a 1 stop DR compromise compared to a BSI sensor of the same generation of pixel well). You might get the ZF if you are going to be shooting between 100-800 iso images so you can enjoy 2/3rd to 1 stop DR advantage over the Z6iii. The ZF has more DR than the Z8/Z9 at 100 iso. ISO 100 ZF 11.12 DR , iso 100 Z8/9 10.14 DR. ISO 100 Z7ii 11.5 DR. The ZF maintains its DR advantage as you go up in ISO.
      Hmmm check this out. Z7ii has better DR than the Z8/9 sensor at 64 ISO Z7ii DR 11.6 vs Z8/9 Dr 11.3 Thats about 1/3 stop. The Z7ii is priced about the same or less than a Z6iii so if DR is important that is the Z camera to get.
      You can used the following webpage to compare DR.

    I'm glad you upgraded. Improved in every way. Whenever I wan't more megapixels, I just use the "enhance" feature in Photoshop and Lightroom Classic to double it. Personally, I can't tell any difference.

    • @nevvanclarke9225
      @nevvanclarke9225 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is a difference because it's what creates in camera that is just an artificial way of creating more pixels. Yes your photos will print better by doing that but you can create a tiff file which will add more data as well but it's not the same thing I would buy the Z72 over this camera.

    Might be a decent camera but 24 megapixels is still below standard for most landscape photographers because you can't crop much also the dynamic range has been tested by several professional photographers on this camera and it is below par for a 24 megapixel camera. I certainly wouldn't buy this camera for landscape photography and the flip out screen is just diabolical to use in most landscape scenarios you need to tilt down screen. There is no advantage with that video centric screen for landscape photographers, I would buy used Z7 ii or z8 without blinking but I would not buy this camera for landscape photography and yes I'm a professional landscape photographer in Australia. I do not recommend people buy this camera for landscape Photography. Yes you can use it for landscape photography but there are so many better options out there. And taking 32 the photos and then stacking them is not gonna work very well if something moves in the scene it's not going to work so you're reliant on no wind Photography yeah that's not gonna work. Just gonna say this people if you are a really good landscape photographer do not buy this camera. There are so many better options honestly if you are a landscape photographer I'd buy used D850 over this any day.or Z7 ii ...or Z8....

      I think your comment is fair, for me this video is simply stuff I first noticed when using the camera rather than conclusive thoughts about it. Like I mentioned I only had one shoot with it so it's difficult to give an in depth critique on the camera. Which is why the review should cover a lot of the bases you were looking for!
