Want to change the world? Start by clearly defining a problem

We encounter devices and products in our daily lives that break, annoy, or fail us in numerous ways. This video helps support Step 1 of the Bioinspired (Re)design process: identifying specific issues with existing products in order to work our way toward novel solutions inspired by biology.
This video supports the "BioInspired" unit, aimed at grades 9+. Students will identify a problem with an existing product and investigate biological functions to inspire a product redesign. Through independent research using AI bots and scholarly sources, students will gain a new perspective on engineering, biology, and our connection to living things.
