    In this video, we will take you to on a pizza tour of all five boroughs of NYC! But, we have two stipulations. First, we eat a unique style of pizza at each stop. Second, we take ferries as often as possible between each location. There is so much amazing pizza in New York City and these are just five of many great options here.
    1. Louie's Pizzeria and Restaurant
    81-34 Baxter Ave
    Elmhurst, NY 11373
    Quite possibly the best grandma slice in NYC. The grandma is the signature slice at Louie's. They also make excellent dishes here.
    2. Louie & Ernie's Pizza
    1300 Crosby Ave
    Bronx, NY 10461
    Is Louie & Ernie's the best pizza in The Bronx? Louie and Ernie's has been rated highly in national and local lists for many years and for good reason. Their sausage pizza is their signature, but the regular slice is also excellent. We ordered a slice of each at this Bronx institution.
    3. PQR (Pizza Quadrata Romana)
    1631 2nd Ave
    New York, NY 10028
    Roman style pizza in NYC. Keeping with the unique styles of pizza, we came to PQR for Manhattan's spot. Roman style pizza is very light and uniquely prepared. Here we ordered the bufala, topped with buffalo milk mozzarella and basil.
    4. Lee's Tavern
    60 Hancock St
    Staten Island, NY 10305
    For Staten Island, we went to one of the most highly-rated spots, Lee's Tavern in Dongan Hills. They serve bar pizza with thin crust. The spot itself is actually a bar.
    Here we ordered the red clam pie, a half sausage and pepperoni pie and half regular and a special side dish that you'll have to watch to find out!
    5. L'industrie Pizzeria
    254 S 2 St
    Brooklyn, NY 11211
    Our final stop was in Brooklyn, a borough with a rich pizza history. Here, we decided on L'industrie, one of the best newer pizzerias in NYC. A great mix of NYC and Italy with high quality ingredients. We got a burrata slice and a L'industrie slice, topped with burrata and prosciutto.

    ABOUT FOOD AND FOOTPRINTS:
    We are Greg and Jumi, hailing from opposite ends of the globe. Greg is a native New Yorker who was born and raised in Queens NYC and Jumi grew up in the beautiful islands of the Visayas region of the Philippines.
    How did we meet? One of us messaged the other on Instagram (before sliding in DM's was even possible through the app!) and we met just after Hurricane Sandy hit NYC in October 2012. Although we grew up in two very different worlds, we bonded over a love of experiences over material things, delicious food and exploration.
    We have visited 15+ countries together since December 2014 exploring beaches, ancient temples, bustling streets and ruins. Along the way, we get adrenaline flowing whether paragliding, ziplining, or jetskiing.
    To fuel up for our adventures (and everyday life), we eat lots of local food wherever we are. Street food, carts, trucks, hidden gems and family-run sit-downs are our mainstays. We don't cook, but prefer to spend our money on experiences and we treat food as one. Hey, we gotta eat regardless, right? May as well enjoy it and support good businesses while we're at it!
    All of this is done while we work full-time at our day jobs. How do we do it? Follow along our journeys and you will learn more. Welcome to our lifestyle!

    Glad you made it over to Staten Island (Steve actually grew up there!), he's partial to Denino's but Lee's is great too! Also love L&B's and Julianna's in Brooklyn, but will have to check out Louie's in Elmhurst, we've never been!

    • @FoodandFootprints
      @FoodandFootprints  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh absolutely! Couldn’t do a 5 borough crawl without it. Really like Denino’s, but we wanted to keep the crawl with unique styles plus it has a Manhattan location now.
      L&B and Juliana’s are both excellent! Two of the best in the borough.
      Check out Louie’s in Elmhurst and don’t miss one of the dishes to go along with the grandma slice!

    Love your T-shirt too :)
    Next time I'm traveling and shooting video's, I just may check out pizza's :)

  • @PeterandYen
    @PeterandYen 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It was cool just looking at the sights of the city. The city has so much history allows for a lot of fun facts 😊👌 Sydney copied your bridge 😂 they copied our pavlova too then said they were the first to make it. Roman pizza damn! Just when you think that couldn't top them. 96 hour fermentation sounds great to me that's my new favorite 😂

    • @FoodandFootprints
      @FoodandFootprints  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! Thought of you guys when editing it with the way you drop the facts into your videos.
      Sydney took from both of our places, eh? We need Nick and Helmi to weigh in on that hahaha.
      Roman pizza is really good! Nice and light - you’d love the basil

    Hey Food & Footprints!!! This is cool you're taking us through all 5 Boroughs to check out Pizza joints!! That second place.. had some really tasty looking pizza.. with all the meat on it!! So cool you got to show us all around by ferry!!! It's cool that one spot that had the fermented dough to aid in digestion!! The thin slices at the 4th spot... were bomb! They looked so crispy!! A sourdough taste to the dough would be so delicious!! All places were so fabulous looking, but every pie was done so different!! Thanks for taking us with you on this awesome Pizza adventure!!

    Grandma style looks like Sicilian style. I remember eating those with cherry coke!

    • @FoodandFootprints

      Yeah! Beauty is the sauce on top and the right amount of fresh mozzarella.
      Sicilian slices sometimes have a lot of cheese and it can get a little dry and chewy without sauce on top

So glad you went to other places besides the well known John’s, Lombardi’s ..... this was epic! You guys are the real deal, a rarity on here. We really like featuring more of the under the radar spots when we can, though we do appreciate and respect the classics.
      LI does have some good pizza that we haven’t had nearly enough of. Really like Umberto’s grandma pie - heard they are the originators.
