Exposure is the best way to learn any language, and being around a bunch of native English speakers (a.k.a the Western Kamis) certainly helps. I feel a little bad for Moa because she's so smart but her thick accent gets in the way of what she wants to say and I doubt she has time to study with a dialect coach.
All of their English sounded good to me ngl. We're far from the time I was watching videos of them 5-6-7-8 years ago. You can tell they've all been learning English on the side. Very wholesome. Momo sounds possibly even better than Su ngl and Moa has made humongous progress herself.
They've been working with their bands at the back. Those guys are north american could be the reason why they are able to improve their English. They need to communicate during practice

So cool hearing Su's thoughts on the Sonisphere 2014 show. That took such courage for the then so young Babymetal to step in front of that huge crowd with no idea what to expect by way of reactions.
Their English is better than many native speakers. I really love Moa's voice and her answer. She'll be 25 on July 4. She's been Moametal for 14 years. With Momo's presence, Moa become more mechievious; Momo as well. The smile of pure joy on Su-metal's face after IDZ at Sonisphere 2014 says it all. Shey knows they will be conquerring the world.
These young ladies have had an amazing journey and story to tell! the way they represent themselves is like nothing I have ever seen before in the world of music, they deserve every ounce of praise they receive for bringing smiles to millions of people worldwide.

I've only been following and listening to Babymetal for about 3yrs but the first time I heard them, I was instantly hooked. Started to look for more of their albums and listening to them on my workouts.
Sumetal's English has gotten very good. One thing I've noticed that she can speak longer in english now without her needing to correct herself i feel like she's being very genuine when she was doing the interview. I wish the interview could've been longer.
I think it's been shown (in a good way) since Babymetal came back from their hiatus that they have more freedom and seem happier for it. Moa's words in this interview shine true when she says, "Recently, I try to be as me as possible, for the sake of Moa-Metal".
It looks to be that after the Restoration Project, they have accepted and embraced their stage personas as a part of who they are instead of just being a mask.

Momoko spent her first year of high school abroad specifically because she wanted to learn English, so her being proficient really isn't a shock. She may have had the chance to go more than a year but returned to Japan because Babymetal needed her

I think I first undiscovered them not long after Sonisphere, around 2015 or so. I fell in love with gimme chocolate. Next thing I knew other metal bands around the world like Judas Priest were singing their praises!
Not only because of their music and talent but also because of their high character like so many others I feel like a proud parent or protective older brother.

the interviewer seemed to put a cadence in his voice similar to how the ladies speak english. at first i thought it was kind of mocking,but i think it may have made them more at ease. in any case they have come so far from the little girls who could only speak japanese a decade ago.
