I bought these boots about a year ago, for work as well as daily use. (I’m a weirdo who almost always wears boots.) I needed something less weighted than some of my Rocky all terrains, and SV2s, and Belleville’s. I’m very impressed. So far no major damage.(tearing seams or zipper problems) the Velcro that holds the zipper will wear they should have made it a bit wider and longer. Overall holding up very well. The non slip does work SURPRISINGLY well like he said in the video. They are EXTREMELY light like a running shoe .They angle of the thick heel to lower toe was weird for the first 2 days after that I appreciated the posture support. Definitely a well made boot for all around street work. You can haul ass in these like a running shoe as well with the help of great ankle support for uneven terrain. If you’re looking for a more specific boot for outdoors or climbing etc.. this company has boots for everything you may want to check other ones out. For everyday standing long hours or walking a lot with the benefits of a boot. This is 9/10. In my experience.
I'm currently on my 5th pair and about to order the next pair. I always had problems with my narrow feet. After i found Haix i never looked back. They fit extremely well, are amazingly light and walk great. Now my current pair is almost done, I'm replacing them soon.
how do these boots fair in the cold? with fall here and winter coming I hate that my feet are cold while on patrol. my summer boots have so much mesh due to the Texas heat but those same boots are bad for winter I see these don't have much mesh so I'm curious to get them for winter!
Hey Carlos (if that's your real name! haha) They are ok in the cold! Not great, but when wearing appropriate socks, they do ok. The grip however, not so much! I haven't really tried a boot where the grip holds up in -30 degrees Celsius and colder.
Wanted to like these boots but twice the heel of the boot went flat. The heels are hollow. Wish they would have substituted real Vibram soles with them instead. Not going to say they are a terrible company because they aren't. They were willing to resole my boots but I passed and went on to another pair. So kudos for them stepping up. On the other hand they can go for a more expensive boot sole.
In this video, I simply offer my two cents on my current boot... HIAX. We all HAVE to answer this question... "What's best for ME?" Enjoy the reveiw.

Fantastic. I hope they work well for you.

That’s great. I just got another pair (6” this time) Love the fit and weight of them!
@RealCopsReelLife indeed! I only wear the high models, the other brands I used in the past weigh so much more.
Just ordered a pair today and can’t wait to test them out.
You'll enjoy them 👊
@@RealCopsReelLife I definitely hop so. I got a 10 wide since I wear a 10 in all other shoes so hopefully they fit good.
Just saw these today on a peer. Tired of rolling ankle running to codes and doing after hours triage with Dansco! Should have bought these ages ago!
Great boots!!!
Can't find these anywhere, have theside zipped version been discontinued??
I see the ads pop up on Facebook. Try searching there?
@@RealCopsReelLife Thanks for the info, I'll give it a go 👍 😁
What boots would you recommend for ems work of your have flat feet ?
I’d recommend these boots for sure, BUT get some well fitted / purposed insoles. Most shoe retailers will be able to help with that.
Would these be any good for hiking/muddy wet walks?
I'd say yes. They're very comfortable and water resistant.
How much of your own gear do rcmp members have to buy for themselves?
RCMP suit us up with everything we need. Many of us choose to swap some gear for better gear... or at least better suited for us.
@@RealCopsReelLife thanks for the reply!! Do you ever do live streams? Would love to have a chat sometime
@@GroovyCAD On IG I do. But will be going live here too more in the future :)
@@RealCopsReelLife awesome. Thanks. Looking forward to it
hey I don't know if you have covered this before but, could you go over the different type of shift work there is or how shift work, works?
Yeah, I sure can. It'll vary with where your division/ detachment is.
@@RealCopsReelLife your the best dude!
Do these polish up nicely?
Yes they do!
after close to a year, how have these held up? I'm looking at grabbing a pair when they go on sale
They have! I have to tell ya, I just got a pair of new boots (Danners) but I'll be getting another Hiax very soon... I keep putting back my old pair!

How well do they run in size? You mentioned wearing a size 13. Is that what you got or did you go up a little?
They are pretty true to size
So you guys call your field trainer a coach? Here in the States We call them Field Training Officers (FTO)
Yes, but both are often used... Field Coach and/or Field Training Officer.
Hanwag Special Forces GTX. Amazing boot I loved to wear. Like, I was legit proud of these boots. haha
I have a question in the rcmp are you allowed to buy any vest you want or is there a policy
There is Policy about our kit. Each division has policy to adhere to.
@@RealCopsReelLife oh okay thank you

Ah… thanks for the comment. I continue to “try” other brands also. Don’t think there’s a “perfect” boot out there for me… still on the hunt!
