  • Hey guys,
    Welcome back to my channel. In today’s video, I wanted to make a DIY Wood Round for my front door. It was fairly easy to make, considering it was my first time using a router. I used scrap wood to make my round, and I used my Cricut to make the stencil. If you are interested in any of the items used, be sure to check the links and description below! @cortneyb.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CraftingwithDinna hi,
      I thought I had one uploaded, but I can make a future video detailing how I make my stencils. It’s relatively easy though. The 5:16 mark shows me laying my stencil down. (I just weeded out the unnecessary parts of my image once I was done cutting, put transfer tape over top, and then laid down the stencil to the round) but if that is too confusing, be on the lookout for a future video. 💗

    • @cortneyb.
      @cortneyb.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Melva,
      Thank you so much for watching! I like chalk paint. I use waverly chalk paints, but krylon and rust- oleum are good too. You can also get your own paint colors mixed up at Lowe’s or Home Depot. I really like Valspar paint from Lowe’s.
      Hope this helps, & good luck with your door round!💗

    You did a great job. I find it easier to staple your bow and greenery to the wood. Did you let the paint dry before removing the stencil?

    • @cortneyb.
      @cortneyb.  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!!
      So sorry for the delay. Thank you for watching! 💗 I will definitely keep that in mind for next time- (the staples will make it more secure!) I did not let it fully dry because I wanted to get that crisp line. Sometimes if it’s fully dry it’ll kind of peel off and remove some of the paint with it.

      Hey Redina! Thank you so much 😊! I guess I should’ve shown that, sorry. I had my husband drill D-Ring hangers to the back of the round for me. @@cortneyb. Oooooh my goodness, you are so kind! Like most everyone else could say, this year has been terrible, so I've decided to take on a few house projects this summer so I can feel excited and purposeful again. I'm planning to lighten up my home color scheme and would love a soft, creamy (but not too yellow) color like yours on my walls. If you find it, that would be amazing, and if you can't, I still appreciate that you replied and thought about looking for shade.
      PS--I finished watching the wooden round tutorial and loved it. I don't have the right tools, but will buy a wooden round or a circular cutting board and make my own sign following your ideas. Thank you!

      I know it’s been a week, but I wanted you to know that I hadn’t forgotten about checking on the color. I was away on vacation when I initially replied to you. I’m home now and checked the garage. The sticker on the paint can is as follows:
      Sherwin Williams
      6106 Kilim Beige
      Sher-color formula
      I hope that this helps, there was a lot more on the sticker but I believe that is what you will need.
      I hope that with the new projects that you plan on starting, this year will start to look up for you. I will be sending positive thoughts and vibrations your way! Always remember -today is a great day to smile and be happy! 💗 I’m sure you will create some amazing things. And thank you again for watching my video! I bet your door round will turn out fantastic!
