It's been several years, but I have absolutely no memory of those doors from our tour. I remember the clock, the narrow stairs, and the wine dumbwaiters, but nothing about doors.
Why are _both_ doors required to be manually opened if there's the pulley system, which clearly works (mostly) to close both doors via the manual operation of only one door?

Same here. I remember the gorgeous color palette and the excellent natural lighting most.
