Gotta work a whole Lot harder than that display show some speed to go after some takedowns, let that be a lesson, that has to hurt, but there's a fair amount of the season left to get working on takedowns, watch some Gable Stevson video. Now and again we come across kids that aren’t just 30% body fat and are in their 2nd season in wrestling. It’s cool to see good heavyweights. But high schools seem to have so much trouble filling that weight. We had a quality guy that was lean and ranked high in the state as a junior. But he got injured and was out the entire season. So we got the big overweight kid that really was just a stand in. Our team got 2nd place my junior year. Our senior year he was back and healthy again and ranked high in the state and then got injured again before he wrestled one match. And he watched from the sidelines the entire season. He would have been in the top 3 in the state. But instead we had the same fat stand in that couldn’t wrestle his girlfriend. Then the night before our regional tournament our #1 ranked 135 pounder broke down and couldn’t cut weight any longer. He had a tech fall on the guy ranked 2nd. So he ends up not going to the state tournament. A regret I’m sure he lives with still 20 years later. Our team got 2nd place by just a few points. It was so heartbreaking.
