1. New Gold Dream (81,82,83,84). 2. Don't You Forget About Me. 3. Alive and Kicking. 4. Waterfront. 5. Chelsea Girl. 6. I Travel. 7. Premonition. 8. Factory. 9. Ghostdancing. 10. Oh Jungleland. Honorable mentions: Themes For Great Cities, Once Upon A Time, Promised You a Miracle, Glittering Prize and Someone Somewhere in Summertime.
My Top Ten Celebrate, This is your Land, Sweat in Bullet, Someone Somewhere in Summertime, Oh Jungleland (12in version) Up on the Catwalk, Alive and Kicking, Hunter and Hunted, Big Sleep and Belfast Child just outside Glittering Prize , Don't you forget me and Promise you a Miracle
Theme of the greatest cities? Waterfront?
Assolutamente no Alessandro! Me ne piacciono molte altre. Tra le più datate: Changeling, I Travel, The American, Factory, Upon the Catwalk e Street Fighting years. Tra le più recenti. Dolphins, Rockets, Blindfolded, Midnight Walking, Stars wil lead the way e Broken glass park. Ribadisco: per me!
I think its my personal bewilderment on how this band did break through the US with Sparkle in the Rain, earlier albums were a bit too eclectic but I thought Sparkle was a very mainstream album.
Thanks for your comment. Regarding "Don't you" respect your opinion but I remind you that in concerts its execution is most awaited moment by the fans. Also I do not think that Jim and Charlie hate it because it was thanks to this song that the doors of the United States were opened ...!
I don't think they hate it either, I was more or less providing a spectrum of emotion toward the song, if you get me. I saw them in Boston in 14' and they played it to a mostly European / American audience. It was received well. I agree it opened the door here.
respectable either the thinking by the way business is business, and tastes are personal, that's your personal chart, i have mine, Joseph may have his one, Simple Minds still do great music and did something that makes them one of the greatest bands of the 80s still alive... and kicking!
Ok! However to make you understand the taking of this song on Italian fans's watch this video: th-cam.com/video/DM7H9oq7STQ/w-d-xo.html I recorded it in Rome in 2014 in concert. 3000 people were present ..!

Good list until #1.. That was a commercial fart, the hard core fans hate it, even the band hates it..
