Can you provide any tips on how to get started on interviewing wrestlers or how to get them to appear on your channel?
license2breal look for their emails on social media and offer $$
He says he grew up wanting to be an entertainer and he certainly did that. He was a memorable character.
This was a great interview. Wayne seemed to genuinely like Hannibal.
I really dig how all these wrestling shoots have become more interesting than wrestling today itself.
The Best wrestling full shoot interview of all time..
Brilliant, I feel the same way.
Rob Runyon wow
Facts!!
Agreed
Am I the only one that falls asleep listening to wrestling interviews only to wake up and find their phone hours in on Honky Tonk Man shoots? lmao
Just happened to me now wtf
@@miguelsaintlaurent4756 it's a phenomena!
@@TacoTuesdayButEveryday The same thing happens to me, I see this video every time I wake up from falling asleep watching other wrestling videos, you're not the only one.
I do the exact same thing every night
I love you.
I met Wayne Farris at the Louisville Fairgrounds in 2015. He was selling signatures on photos of himself when he was in his prime. Really nice gentleman!
I grew up around Wayne in Bolivar Tn.
I met him out in California in the mid 90’s when he was on the independent circuit. Got an autographed Polaroid with him. He was really a nice guy, very down-to-earth, fan friendly. So I felt kinda bad when I booed him during his match. But that was my job as a fan, to boo the bad guy! 🤣
I absolutely hated him when I was a kid. Now that I'm older, I realize that was his job! He seems like he really understands where the line between the character and the man begins and ends. Really great interview.
As a kid, you absolutely hate this egotistical wannabe Elvis.. now that we’re older, you appreciate the commitment to the character and I absolutely love this interview and his honesty.....
Fantastic interview! ... "My Breakfast With Blassie" was maybe the only thing that could top this!!! ... I would say, Sky Low Low was the only pro wrestler who could have beaten "Honk" in his prime years!
Lol I know right? I wasn't a fan of Honky growing up but he really seems like a legitimately good guy! This interview was great to listen to!!
As a kid I liked him. Saw him wrestle live also.
It’s all a shtick
I hated Honky growing up in the 90s. Never really cared for him but he is still a legend of the business and seems like a great guy.
I met the Honky Tonk man in Liverpool, NY many years. We talked about a lot of things other than wrestling. Very cool guy .
I can listen to this guys stories all day. Seems like a down to earth straight shooter. The 80's and early 90's wrestlers are great!
The weird thing for me is ive never been the biggest wrestling fan they is but i love listening to all the shoot interveiws and i respect the guy's who wrestle. It was watching New Jack's videos that got me into listening to more. I know a lot of people hate New Jack but he does tell a good story and i like to hear all the shit that goes on behind the scene's.
fredinabun ; honestly the things going on behind the curtain are usually far more entertaining than what's going on in the ring

Great is debatable but they gave it everything they had...under the shadow of the Immortal Hulk Hogan, brother.
Was never a fan of the Honky Tonk Man but LOVED this interview. Great story teller and seems to be a genuinely good guy. Had no intention of watching more than a few minutes of this and ended up watching the whole thing.
Absolutely...he seems very down to earth. I have been watching wrestling on tubi and I've been able to see some of his early matches...older wrestlers are very interesting to watch and listen
We need guys like this today. What a talent across the board. I'm so happy he was part of my childhood.
Amen to that.
HTM was the greatest WWF I-C Champ of all time, folks. The longest running one at a shade over 14 months, followed by Macho Man Randy Savage at 13 months +
I didn't realize that about 'Mach' until HTM mentioned it in a podcast. He's just a month or so ahead of him
He is an incredible story teller.
Out of all the wrestlers Hannibal TV has interviewed I keep coming back to The Honky Tonk, certainly is the most enjoyable to listen to.
It’s like my 4th time since it came out lol.
Honky Tonk has amazing memory and one can really learn a lot of history from him. He is so detailistic, he knows names, stories, and he really knows what he is talking about. My respects to a great man and a great wrestler. You rock Honky!!! God bless you...
A quite brilliant shoot interview. Even after 3 hours I could still listen to him talk even more.
he's a gifted story teller. fun to listen to.
Yeah he could have been a great presenter or radio host if not a wrestler. A talented man.
Yes
Keegan O'Connell haha

Greatest Intercontinental Champ of all time. The gold suited him.
One of the best heels ever, great theme song too! Great interview from a living Wrestling Legend!
This was great, I didn't really warm to him when I was a kid, but now I'm older he's one of my favourites to listen to
He was a heel back then you weren't supposed to like him
Hannibal is legit one of the only interviewers I watch, too many ask a question and then cut the wrestler off. Also, I think he gets more from the wrestlers because he is in the business as opposed to some fanboy. Keep up the great work man! Got my sub
I wish he would get the audio issues fixed. I never really can understand what exactly he is asking the wrestlers. I can hear a majority of what he is saying, but not 100% of everything he asks
I hear Hannibal / Devon Nicholson is the actual Texas Blood Hunter
I don’t even watch wrestling anymore and haven’t for almost 20 years but these shoots and OSW and stuff like that I can’t get enough of! They’re grrrrrreat! 😻
Thats because new wrestling is terrible but old school wrestling was amazing! Hannibal TV and osw review are letting us all relive our childhoods. Can't get enough of them.
This has been one of the most enjoyable shoots I've ever seen.
Shot great promos, gives great interviews. No surprise.
One of the best interviews...he lays it out in a manner that has me believing every word of it. Surprisingly humble seemingly calling all right down the middle. Seems like a good dude
HTM is awesome. I loved his gimmick and how he executed the shake, rattle & roll neckbreaker. Great on the mic too.
Got that right, Mr. Mitchell👍😁 He was a most highly enjoyable entertainer, and a not half-bad wrestler either
The Brad Armstrong story was hilarious! Purposely flying under the radar for a year, sitting at home being forgotten about while being paid. Then turns around and gets resigned for two more years! Lol! "I don't want em' to see me!" Haha! Love it!!
Instead of hiding could have made a bigger name for himself during nwo era could have made more in broad daylight
Chris Reid He would've been used up just after a few Nitro episodes. They couldn't even promote Bret Hart properly, much less Brad Armstrong. I would've done the same thing. He saved his body and got paid for 3 years while being off the road. He was smarter for it.
@@BAR-ct7ti Excellent interview
Glad I found your channel Hannibal. I'm a child of the 80s so I grew up watching alot of these guys. I could listen to these shoot interviews all day long.
maybe the best story teller in professional wrestling. Love this guy
This guy comes across as a really authentic dude I enjoyed this interview a lot
It was a pleasure to watch this interview with Roy Wayne Farris. I wish him the best of luck.
I can listen to him speak all day. Good interview
this is STILL probably the best shoot interview I've ever heard, such an enjoyable listen
After all the interviews I think he (Honky Tonk Man) is the most knowledgeable and believable. Very entertaining. Time just goes by listening to him. Please interview him more!😂
Thanks!
Welcome!
I love these interviews. You actually ask follow up questions unlike other shoot interviewers who just have a list of questions that they just read from a piece of paper.
Despite not being able to hear a single question from the interviewer....
listening to Honky Tonk Man Is Awesome
I’ve passed this interview up MULTIPLE because growing up they basically treated dude like a jobber but sitting here and listening to his story, I deserve a guitar to the head. Man kept it real and shared insight I would’ve never knew 🤝
I believe he has the record for the longest held IC Championship. He did at one time, at least.
It’s great content
@@guitarguru.3572 Yeah he has one of the top 3 reigns to this day still
@@vinnyvinson Really is and I passed up on it for months like a idiot

Thank so much for sharing this interview ! The Honky Tonk Man is one of the GREATEST. Definitely a GOAT !!!!!
The best thing to ever come out of wrestling, love listening to this man
Not the best thing. The Nature Boy Ric Flair is way better! Woo!
Definitely entertained me,made me laugh many times, totally enjoyed watching you, thanks HTM.
My favorite shoot interview of all time 👍
👍
Thankyou HTM / you are one of my favorites.
Never liked him, but he was a good wrestler, now I understand you had to do what needed to be done. I think he was a hard worker and really respect his role in one of the biggest organizations out there. Much respect to him. Great memories and glad they inducted him in the hall of fame. Thanks Honkey Tonk for being there for the fans.
Honky Tonk Man you are one hell of an entertainer. Thank you
Why did I wake up to this at 3 am 😭
Me to 2 months later! 😷
Bruh... it’s 3:36am where I’m at in Australia and I’m watching
Me too! Wtf!
2:56am
One of my favorite wrestlers. Great theme song. Love that guitar smash.
Definitely a stand up guy. One of the old school pros.
Hated Honky as a kid, I love him now. He may get small things wrong because of the way he saw things. But he speaks the truth !!! Love this . Thanks for the upload
thank you for all the great content HANNIBAL
All these old school wrestlers are so good at talking the stories and genuinity they have is great. Could listen to them all day
45 years old and have not watched wrestling in 10 years. Started watching WWF in 1978. but now it bores me but I love these shoot interviews and stories from the old days. I never thought much of him as a wrestler but after watching Him and compared to other shoot interviews I have tremendous respect for him. Other then Nash he is best story teller that I have seen
I watched pro wrestling since I was 6 years old am 39 years old now still watch it love it it's awesome .
What a tremendous interview. I love listening to his stories and life experiences.
Fabulous interview with Honky Tonk Man!
Gotta love that he still keeps up with the pompadour. Most wrestlers would had stopped that if that was apart of their character, but not Honky Tonk Man because he is forever HONKY TONK MAN and that's dedication.
Hey Vince!!! Please put this guy in the hall of fame!!! Best ic champ of all time..and all round great guy
Cindy Rocks wish granted 🎸🎤HOF class 2019
HTM is the best shoot on YT, gifted storyteller and great guy outside the ring.
Honky Tonk Man rules! I hated him so well back in the day, my favorite heal. Now I’m a fan of the man. ❤️👍
I have not watched wrestling since probably 1999. Could never stomach it now. But im fascinated with the guys from when I was a kid and their stories. Man as a Kid these guys were Hero’s / Villians. Wild times.
WAYNE
THANKS FOR THE STORIES
YOU ARE THE REAL DEAL
MUCH RESPECT
Appreciate U Honky Tonk for NOT telling all kinds of tall tales about yourself from the past-that mostly no one would know the better-as so many others do.
great interview! thanks for uploading the whole thing, HTM is pure entertainment whether you like him or not. Funny how he keeps himself relevant still to this day through his shoot interviews.
I really enjoyed watching this. I like this man. He seems very genuine. And he is a legend in wrestling for me.
This is one of the best interviews about any sport I’ve ever heard. I love this guy now. Like this interview is so good; you think it’s Terry Gross on NPR.
Such a humble guy, really like this interview
This guy should be a booker or managing a top heel. God if only someone who knew what they were doing could either buy out Vince for WWE or start a GOOD WRESTLING promotion and get this guy on they would be gold because this guy has alot of good business to him.
Honky tonk is probably my favourite wrestler shoot interview
I can listen to him for hours
To me his interviews are some of the best in wrestling history , great story Teller !
I'm not that much of a wrestling fan but I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. Thanks.
It's sad to see that the interviews are better than professional wrestling as a whole. Sux man
Legend.
From close to my home in Ala. My family were just share croppers too. They worked mostly with the slaves, often living poorer. I really like how he explained it by not bringing that up though. He seems very genuine and caring. I seen a few vids when he was back at the room with the likes of New Jack. Getting tore up.
Country music legend Marty Robbins also did a hit song in 1983 called Honkytonk Man which Clint Eastwood did a movie on.
Hannibal you are the best interviewer in my opinion. You are professional and patience a lot of times,emThanks

I really liked Roy's interview. It was really nice to hear someone who sounds really down to earth, fun to listen too and sounds really truthful. I really liked it! And I must admit that he made me laugh like crazy when you made me remember that hilarious match for the belt with the Ultimate Warrior. You brought back lots of great memories during a time when I used to love wrestling, and I want to thank you for that!
You were in, running around in this business during the very best years of the history of wrestling "by my opinion". The 70s, 80s, and early 90s where the very best years, whether it was A.W.A. International Wrestling, WWF. And it was after that, that I started losing interest when the wrestling gamic started to change a lot (and NOT for the best) During those years, you used to give us fabulous show to remember always "Without killing anyone, nor trying to". It use to be a great show!
Today, way way WAY too crazy. They lost the fun side that wrestling used to have.
So again, Thank you Roy "HonkyTonk Man" for all those great memories and also for helping to open people's eyes, to all that happened during all those years, and all that was said "in truth or not"
You were a fabulous interview. I couldn't of enjoyed myself more. Thanks for everything you gave us.
Thanks
he seems like an awesome man!
dont let him beome alone! keep him in good company .. he deserves it.
I could listen to this guy all night. His accent is hypnotic!
Man, these are great! Love HTM. Man, I think of how many legends passed on before the shoot boom and the wealth of insight they could have bestowed.
I might hold the record for watching this the most times.
Pov: You left TH-cam on when you went to sleep
The Honky Tonk Man was great. His character we all hated him but loved him also.
Thanks so much for this full interview. Awesome channel!!!
,
This was very interesting. Thanks for another great shoot Devon.
Seriously wealth of wrestling history knowledge, never knew he had such a big career before WWF.
I partied with Wayne in Taylor, Michigan by CHANCE.. He was at this hole in the wall near my hoise after an event at a local strip mall.. My buddy was like "Isnt that the Honky Tonk man?"
We sat at the bar drinking Tequila, watching UFC and talkin shit...
Wayne is just a great guy who loves a good time. Had so much fun..
Great interview, HTM always brings it. Hannibal is quickly becoming one of my favourite interviewers, from growing up as a fan to being a wrestler to a promoter he's got all the angles covered.
really one of the best wrestling interviews around...
Not iron sheik good but good
It's amazing how many of these 'heels' are actually nice guys.
"Hogan couldn't get my finish changed so I hate him now." - Honky
Right he came to wcw to help wcw but never came for the paycheque
This is a Great interview I have a lot of respect for HTM
I can totally see the resemblance to Jerry Lawler
As soon as he said it 🗯😳
Just wanted to say that your interview style is perfect. Too many times the interviewer tries to ingratiate themselves to the wrestlers and in the process of doing so lose focus on the point of an interview. You ask knowledgeable questions and allow the person to actually speak without cutting them off or putting your 2 cents in. I’ve seen quite a few of your shoot interviews and I’m very impressed with your style and your ability to put everyone at ease so they come across as talking to an old friend reminiscing of the good old days. Subscribed, liked and shared and watched the adds (most of them anyway) keep up the great work👍🏾.
One of the greatestest entertainers. A LEGEND of WWF.
He does the best interviews.
Really appreciate things like this. I recommend stuff like this for all who doesn't know about the business
Really interesting guy. Never knew that his career started so long ago that he wrestled along with the older guys like Thez & Von Raskie (spelling).
I didn't like Honky Tonk Man when he was introduced as Hogan's friend. When he turned heel, he became one of my favorites, heel or face! The breaking the guitar over his opponents, the cocky attitude, the 'you're a beautiful audience!!!' while the fans were relentlessly booing him, etc.... These are the things missing from heels today. My father took my to the first EVER SummerSlam for my birthday, and when Ultimate Warriors music hit, Honky's reaction was classic and he took that loss in second. Knowing what I know about Warrior today, I wish Honky went into business for himself and screwed him over. The longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of ALL time!!! Great interview!! Thank you!
This man needs and deserves the recognition and royalties from the songs that Elvis Aaron Presley STOLE from him!!
I just learned about the network. The hell with watching pay-per-views and current wrestling. I made my way to 1986 Prime Time wrestling with Gorilla and the Brain and Saturday Night main events. Had to check to see what this guy was doing. I saw the interview was 3 hours and watched every second. thanks for the upload!!!
Thank you, THE HANNIBAL TV
Man there are so few people on planet earth who could honestly call themselves professional wrestlers. Those guys lived a crazy rare life
Great interview

I have watched Wayne Ferris wrestle in Stampede and being from Vancouver Island saw him every week that he worked for Master Sargent Al Tomko ( who wrestled as Crazy Legs Leroy Hirsch early in his career),I think he was and still is a connsumate pro. He is the epitome of a shooter and tells a story as well if not better than anybody except good ol' JR, Jim Ross.
@Donal Finn I not only got to see All Star Wrestling every week on TV but usually twice a month live somewhere on Vancouver Island..( I'm from Duncan originally ) and I actually worked for the Island promoter Jim ( Gabby ) Pennock as a ring second/ security/ set up guy for a couple of years in the mid 70' s. By that time Gene Kiniski basically owned the territory. So ya,I got to see the magic of All Star up close and personal. Kiniski,Guy Mitchell,Bobby Bass, Iron Mike Sharpe,Gama Singh ,Paddy Ryan, and Goldie Rogers were just a few of the greats of those days...in a very good, under rated and under remembered promotion .
