Garrison’s death is absolutely heartbreaking. Janelle is a very strong woman, but this would shatter the strongest parent. My heart breaks for what Garrison and the other older siblings had to go through with Kody. I hope he is able to learn something other than how to get publicity for himself. I’m sure Christine and all the kids will rally around Janelle. This was just horrific news.

When one parent leaves the family for someone else that parent is leaving not just the spouse that parent is leaving their children. Kids feel guilt and rejection All of those kids experienced chaos isolation and uncertainty.

If Kody hadn't abandoned his son for Robin and her crew... maybe this wouldn't have happened. He discarded that boy with no care or second thoughts whatsoever. Kody and Robin, the toxic duo contributed to this young man's poor mental health. They should be ashamed of themselves ! We all know that they will blame others and not take any responsibility. As well as Christine & her kids, as they was one family. The fact Kody put him down on tv & his brother DID NOT help matters. Kody is selfish, rude, controlling & a narcissist!! We truly don’t know what pushed Garrison to end his own life. He had many problems. While it couldn’t help that Kody pushed him away, it is highly doubtful that is what triggered him. I know it is easy to blame Kody. I just hope Kody can get over his ego and be a father to all his children. They need him.
Garrison clearly had other issues besides Kody. Depression is a horrible mental disease and combined with alcohol can become deadly 😢

Reality tv producers should start to realize how dangerous it is to have this kids growing up with cameras in their homes. Now this show will use this tragedy as another story. I say shut it down. Kody didn't have dozens of wives, he had 4 until the last couple years. He only has one now. 2:14
Alcohol is a depressive and tends to lead one to make rash, illogical decisions--- if only he had passed out before he made the fateful decision. I've read that he drank to excess, perhaps that had more to do with it than the family situation. No matter the reason, a devastating loss for all the family. RIP Garrison, he seemed a sweet boy. No one knows what was going through his mind at the time.
They say that Garrison had a severe drinking problem so he was not in his right mind when he took his own life especially since he had just adopted a new cat 🐈⬛ that he adored.
I remember how hurt he was about his fathers behaviour . Being in the spotlight with the family and especially the last few years with Cody's strict regime and the whole family falling apart must have taken a lot of stress. So sorry for your lost .🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Kody IMO has narcissistic personality disorder. It’s really hard to understand that those personality traits aren’t something that can be improved to any degree with therapy. These are hard wired traits from about age 6. I’m sorry for what happened to him that caused this arrested development. But Kody will always respond in certain maladaptive ways when under stress because of this. It’s baked in the cake. You are projecting your non-personality disordered moral compass onto Kody. Therapy won’t allow his brain to acquire insight and empathy to the degree that is needed for change. That ship has sailed.
And exactly what are you projecting about yourself, using this family's tragedy to take an opportunity to enlighten a world you seem to presume is awaiting your psychoanalysis of Kody Brown at this challenging moment? What happened to you that causes you to react to this with a bunch of psychobabble, when anyone with basic human decency and common sense would understand that compassion, commiseration, kindness and empathy should be the natural response here?
This family lost a son and a brother. Not one word of kindness or compassion from you. Not one! Talk about maladaptive behavior and narcissism! Shame on you.

I makes me so sad to think that this wonderful young man who clearly loved his family to think how he must have been struggling makes me want to cry. The answers we seek we will never find don't blame yourself or try to look for signs you think you missed unfortunately everything will look like a sign or a red flag. You need to all try to find peace and solace with each other , I know it seems that it will always be this raw and just to gold your head up takes all your strength the day will come like it has for many that have buried a child that will be the day we just learn to live with it

I would hope that TLC provides therapy for the kids. Hopefully they have provided it all along. The trauma these kids have endured, literally airing the dirty laundry, is terrible.
Everyone in the comment section blaming the family's stuggles for his death, whilst either ignoring or being blissfully unaware he was in the military. He's one of thousands of military members that kill themselves every year. He didn't kill himself because of all the family drama, though I'm sure it didn't help; he killed himself because he decided to join the military. Military life is rough and lonely.

Everyone ignores the big elephant in the room - Alcohol. A self proclaimed alcoholic family, with a narcissistic father who publicly shames them & calls them names (probably while under the influence), is a major perpetrator in this young man's death.
