Hi there!. Thanks for watching and for your kind comment. I always add 5 to 6 layers of paper when I start and then let it dry completely. Once those layers are dry, I would add the extra layers for added strength. Also, when I add the rope as the video shows, I only cover the rope with paper, not the entire ball.

Thank you so much for watching! Yes it's a bit of work but I love making them and at times they don't end up breaking it and throw the candy in the air and end up hanging it in their room for a keepsake. Kind of defeats the purpose. 😆
@Selen Onat Just wanted to say that I do feel the same way..but I normally try to make 2 of them..one to keep and one to hit. Since the materials as already there and I'm making it then why not two of them in case I like it to much. 😆

Here is the list. I will soon add links for the items in the description of video.
- Inflatable Beach ball. Different sizes for your personal preference. I used a 20 inch in the video.
- Foil gift wrapping paper. Purchased from Hobby Lobby. Hologram color
- School glue. Purchased from Walmart.
- Newspaper ripped in strips. Free
- Copy paper. Optional to use. Purchased from Walmart. No special brand.
- Black acrylic paint. Purchased Hobby Lobby. You can use any brand of your choice
- Paint brush. No special brand.
- Scissors
- Flour, school glue, & water for making paper mache mix. No special brands.
- Rope. I only use "Red Heart" brand crochet nylon thread. Purchased from Walmart in crochet department with the yarn.
- Pencil
-Bowl or pot to hold ball.
- Paper towel. Optional to use to push lifting corners of square cut outs. Remember to do this step before the glue completely dries.

You may be able to find a similar one at Michaels or at another local craft store. I found one online at Michaels that might be similar called "Silver Holographic Gift Wrap by Celebrate It.
