This is exactly what I thought up to do for our crib as our 4th (and last) kiddo is getting ready to transition from being in the crib to a toddler type bed. I don't want to buy another small bed if I can custom change the side of the crib into a rail for her. I was just afraid to try it out on my own, thankfully I found your video and can show my husband it's been done before successfully! Thanks for posting this!
I have done this for our 3 as they grew and now for 9 grands as well. I have cut both sides and the foot board part as well on those I have altered. Never even occurred to me to do just one side, I like it. Built 3 adult super singles for the 3 in Ohio over the winter and now waiting to see how that goes over back in Ontario Canada. Re-purposing is the way to go.
Cutting both sides and the foot board down is a great idea, I would probably do that if he was going to stay in this bed for more than a few months. We get a lot of satisfaction and save a lot of money by repurposing, definitely the way to go. Thank you for watching
Nice fix to make the bed last a while longer. I like when you asked your son if he could get out of it and he answered "why?" I think he likes it. Be well.
Lol, Thank you, yes, he does like it now. He thinks he's a little man now and it's convenient for us when it's time for him to get up. Thank you for watching
Wow, very creative!! I have a similar crib and I'll definitely use your same steps. Thanks for the idea. I enjoyed watching your video. Greetings from New York.
I've read and bought several online woodworking plans, but this is the best so far [Link Here==t.co/RbPbupodVQ ]. The instructions are very clear and well laid-out. I so much love this woodwork plan. It's simply fantastic!
Very cool video. I have a different type of crib and can't figure out how to convert it to a day bed. :( and I don't have much tools either. Please help
