Freehand raster georeferencer plugin also works really well

Nice. Quick and easy explanation. Cheers!

Hi, thank you for your explanation. I would like to ask is it possible to create a point with predetermined coordinates? It looks like one can only add point by clicking on the map, but actually what we shall do if we have predetermined coordinates? Thank you!

Yes. Use the 'Vertex Editor' as described at gis.stackexchange.com/questions/312083/qgis-3-4-add-points-to-exact-locations

Thank you for your video. Is it possible also to rotate a raster?

Yes. Choose your tie-points where the source and target points form the desired rotation angle. Typically you don't need to do this for a specific angle. You just choose the tie-points that indicate the shift and the image will be moved/rotated to fit them.

Thank you. I defined two tie points. One was the top left pixel and another was the bottom right pixel. For the first one, I chose the source and destination the same, and for the second one, I changed the destination such that the image rotated 30 degrees around the top right corner. But when I ran, it just changed the image aspect ratio and didn't rotate it.@@SpatialThoughts

Thank you for this video! I had an additional query - say I have a Vector Layer representing a square grid system, along with a Raster Layer. The two layers are misaligned, so I wanted to shift the Raster Layer such that its pixels correctly overlap with the Vector layer's grid cells. What should I do to find out the distances by which I should shift the Raster Layer?

Is the raster misaligned or just has pixels with different shapes? If it is misaligned, your best bet is to georeference the raster with control points from the vector grid corners and use the pixel size and projection of the vector in transformation settings. If the raster is aligned but just having different pixel shapes/size, use Warp tool to resample it to the projection and resolution of the vector grid.

Right, thank you, that worked perfectly for me! They were misaligned, so I shifted the raster with control points from the vector grid corners.
