Just got my FIRST car yesterday! A 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sahara !! So hyped, cant wait to get accessories, lift kits, and soo much more! So glad to be apart of the Jeep family!
+usalax76 Good on you. Hope you have a happy jeepin time.
usalax76 you called it a car don't you ever call a Jeep a fucken car u own a Jeep now show some respect 😬😬😬
one of my favorite parts of the vid is 1:17--1:23 You made it look so easy. "Like butter" is the best way i can describe it.
VERY COOL.
Impressed when a vehicle can function effectively on road and off. You did a good job of customizing your Jeep.
KEEP ON PREPPING
I've owned several cars in the past. I still own my 97 Jeep wrangler. The reason why it runs so great is because of its ultra simple design. Compact, little electrical components and a cast Iron flat 6 engine. Its a dream to drive off road. Super strong, I can get into places that hummers can't because of its size yet versatility.
glad to finally see a hard top jeep out in the wild.i prefer the hard top over the soft top.when im a hard top i tend to feel a bit more secure than when i am in a soft top
I love the one in my dana 44 I use to have one in my front dana 30 but it never worked so i went to the ox but supposely they had a recall with dana 30 models but when it locks it locks so far i have had no slippage and its worked flawlessly. Good luck with your rig and look forward to the videos.
ooo man you have my dream rig on your jeep dude. OX lockers snorkel EVERYTHING! i am envious.
I absolutely love it. Only problem I have ever had with it is getting it adjusted right.. but once adjusted it never fails.
You have a really nice build there. not enough jeeps like these out there =[
Yea, I've been out there entering around Batsto, sandier that I prefer. I'll have to check out Rausch this summer.
Thanks
Lockers worked great in the snow... the problem with the aussies are once your in 4 wheel drive your locked which isnt good for just regular driving around town I would recommend a selectable locker. The snorkel was the best thing I ever bought only when I bought mine in only cost $170 so it was a little easier of a decision for me.
thanks for the info... i just bought a 2006 TJ.. i swiched from a chevy and i love the Jeep... with the 30 inch tires on the my stock wrangler, it will go so many places my S-10 on 33's wouldent go... I cant wait to start moding my new jeep i can only imanage it can go anywhere
The snow scenes are at Rausch Creek off road park in Tremont P.A. and the begining scenes are a local spot that was just recently shut down.
Yea they are great tires. Ox is awesome. No I did not have to change the gearing in the transfercase. Good luck with the jeep and have fun out there.
I have the 12k powerplant winch no mods under the hood. I use to have the ected in the front but it never worked when I needed it to work so I talked to quadratec and went with what i wanted in the first place the ox and its awesome dont have one complaint. I def recommend doing either a ox or arb up front with a Detroit in the rear thats what I would do if I had to do it all over again. My next mod is prob. a third brake light for inspection reasons. Then maybe a hand throttle for winching.
I didnt install the lockers... I had a off road shop do the work for the gears and lockers. They do work amazing and are life savers.
I like it alot. The hardest part of the install was getting myself to drill the hole in the side of the jeep lol but other than that it was pretty easy. Some other advantages are that it gives you better gas mileage and a longer air filter life. Maybe a bit more horse power but nothing real noticeable.
Nice machine dude! Beast in the snow! :)
Nice looking jeep. Also have a 2002 TJ. Like your build...might copy it :)
its an electronic locker that uses clutches that engage at the flip of the switch... when off its a limited slip
No they are great my dad actually just picked up a 09 rubicon unlimited and the thing rides so smooth on the road. They really are great. A few blind spots here and there but the ride for a jeep is great.
Yes, if they didnt have the long arm out... but since the long arm is out now I think I would spend the extra couple of bucks and purchace that one... just because it would help in the long run. But to answer your question I am extremely happy with my kit.
@Tbomb187 I would get a selectable in the front.. like an arb or an ox.. cause 95% of the obstacles your gonna come across your front wheels are gonna have to go over first and pull you through. But thats just my mind set.
Yea there jersey plates you can lift it and lock it with stock axles just make sure you upgrade the gears to at least 4.11's and it wouldnt hurt to try and find a 44 for the rear tho because the dana 35 is known to break with bigger tires because of the stress.
Great jeep, gets you to work, and over just about anything else you will ever encounter. How is the Ected as a daily driving Diff? I see that it locks properly, how is the limited slip factor?
Love the Jeep man; Nice Mods.
Thats truly a clean prett jeep. my jeep is barley a jeep any more with the 350 and 3/4 ton axles. It is pretty much a truck now. I love it for most wheeling but on trails now i'm now near as good. And i didn't shorten the axles so it's now the prettiest thing on 37's around.
Man, im so jealous!! Can't wait to get my own one day!
hey man nice Jeep heres an idea on what my buddy did take the fender flares off cut them in the rear and then put tube fenders up front... just a thought he has about a 4.5in lift and hes running a 36's so yeah keep on jeepin... OllllllllO
@fahadtango the tires are 33x12.5 the fender flares are the smaller of the bushwacker and the bumper is 59" but shoulda went with the 54"
man that jeep at the end sounded nice
Do you remember if your front bumber is the 59"? Body armor may have changed the design a little since you got yours but I like that width.
bad ass.. haven't gotten mine in the snow yet but I haven't been able to get stuck anywhere yet. maybe there is something out there that jeeps can't get threw?
i like how you wheel, give it some, not just creepin everywhere! Plus that park looks awsome. I want to wheel my 98 Tj in some snow, but it is rare down here in NC. My only question is why did you go with an OX up front and then get a Ected for the rear... Dont the Ected use clutches?
@SChiaradonna nice wrangler man but i got a question ive heard if a 4" lift is installed would a slip yoke eliminator also have to be installed as well and a transfer case drop kit?
cool video, like the custom plate!
No but the axle vent tubes were placed up by the firewall when we bought the jeep... so i guess I should have said that in the last comment... not sure if they come like that on all jeeps or not.
@SChiaradonna thank you. what do you plan to pull with the winch a freight train. you could pull your jeep and 5 others up a tree and hang there all night. are you runnin a ham radio or cb . I run a ham radio. how long did it take you to do the build . nice jeep did it come with the D44? fun in the snow.
Sweet set up. I have a 98 garaged in FL that I'm bringing back up to NJ this summer. I usually only go to IBSP to fish. Where do you wheel around here?
Sick Jeep man. Awesome video.
You're killin it!
Sick setup bro, I approve haha.
thats amazing!!!
how hard was it to install those lockers?? they look like theyre doing some good work!
Sweet TJ We're going the same route 4" lift 4.56 gearing for our 99 tj sport Tube Fenders from GenRight are ordered. Do you like the Electric locker? The down side of ours is a D35 rear. On the lookout for a D44 or ford 88. May end up with a Super 35 kit (hope not) Great looking Jeep!!!!
Well I originally had ected lockers front and rear.. but had so many problems with the ected in the front that I just called them and got my money back. So I started looking for a replacement locker and I wanted something that I knew wouldnt fail so I got the OX and so far so good. I must say though that i do like the ected in the rear its a great locker works well on the upper dana models and when off its a limited slip, but when the clutches where away i'll prolly go with an OX in the rear.
@killapawner
You do not NEED a MML after 4 inches of lift. You can and it will help with the driveline vibes a bit. But either a TC drop or a SYE/CV will eliminate any driveline vibes you get.
A MML is nessesary for most tummy tucks and is also good practice when installing a BL, to ensure no modifications to the fan shroud or shifter(if u have a manual tranny)
Thanks... I think i spent around 1250 its the short arm kit. They didnt have the long arm out when I got mine.
Great vid. I wish I had the nuts required to outfit my jeep and do this kind of stuff with it.
NICE! I have a 03 Wrangler with 33x12.50 A/T, need to get some fender flares are yours the Bushwacker 6" Pocket style?
nice man i got a 98 jeep wrangler sahara gotta love umm keep jeepin
Really the only place to go around where I am is wharton state park but I usually go up to Rausch Creek in Tremont, PA
Very nice jeep man, I currently have a stock '98 TJ, think you could give me a full list of mods?
its in south Jersey and Rausch Creek off road park in PA no badlands all though i do wanna get up there.
nice jeep and nice offroading
@kowz4u the tires in this video are Firestone Destination M/T's and to be honest I'm not sure if they come in a 31" size.
nice jeep. cant wait to get the winter back myself. are those jersey plates? are those axles stock? if so can i lift my TJ with stock axles and put lockers and 33's on?
Hey man what do you think about adding a catback, superchip, headers and cold air intake to add power and fuel efficency to my 2000 sahara? does all that stuff really help or what?keep hearing different things...thanx bro awesome jeep by the way
Awesome video what part of Jersey you in
Sweet! What kind and size of tires? Awesome vid!
@SChiaradonna what do you think about a catback, headers, superchips and cold air intake to improve power on a 2000 jeep sahara? does that shit really work, hearing different from everybody. Thanx man and awesome jeep!
@kowz4u Build took about a little over one summer between me and my dad. Got the winch for half the cost so couldnt pass it up. I know its overkill but never hurts lol. And i run a cb radio, and no the dana 44 did not come with it... AWESOME in the snow!
Yea I like it alot. Good luck with your jeep
@richardmhuse Its a stock exhaust.. the one you hear in the video is prolly that of the cherokee thats in the last clip. He just had a straight pipe. But my Jeep is completely stock engine/exhaust wise.
south jersey wheeling, i dig the licence plate
This is a great video, im thinking about buying a jeep tj, any suggestions? for stuff like this would the 4 cylinder engine handle it or should i go for the 6?
thanks, did i mention this video is awesome =D
@metalirocz28 I recently purchased the new BF Goodrich M/T KM2's and they are phenomenal. Quiet on the highway GREAT off-road and last winter we had over 6' foot of snow and the tires didn't struggle one bit. By far the best tire I have ever had.
NICE i just ordered a 3 program tuner, an ECTED for my 8.8, and another ECTED for my D35 for my 98 Explorer 4.0L SOHC 4.10 gears, other mods include custom fully mandrel bent stainless exhaust (which i cant wait to tear off this spring) and a K&N FIPK (cant wait to suck some water into it!!)
I will have some videos of my Explorer this spring once the snow melts and i get the diffs installed, I CANT WAIT!! BTW How do you like your ECTED? Do they truly lock or can you tell its friction locked?
im about to get a jeep for my first car too ...this jeep is sick
@NortonAntivirusable If your are thinking about buying a Tj the Rubicon is the best. The Sport with the I6, manual transmission and rear Dana44 is second best. I'm really happy with my 03 Tj sport, but I could do it again I would have bought a Rubi...
@lacrosseman706 love the setup wouldnt change it for anything.
Destination MT! i just got a set of those too, kick ass. When you changed to 4.56 did you have to modify the gearing in the trasfer case too? Oh and im jelous of the ox, i want one, love having extra levers and buttons in the cab. Nice set up you have there.
That's a nice TJ, thanks for the vid
how do those lockers do in the snow. Im dropping an aussie in my dana 30 in my yj next weekend, living in colorado I hear they don't do good in the snow. Also was that safari snorkel a good investment? 350$ seems a bit high
love the licsense plate 'muddin'
Yea i do wheel in wharton but nothing from this video are in there. Just Rausch Creek and Little Mill a local spot around me.
@Tbomb187 I would put in the back.. that way you can run it all the time.. wheeling. even on the road so dont have to get otu and lock it everytime ur gona wheel it.
I swapped the 35 out because traditionaly its the weakest of the dana models once you regear and go with larger tires and put a locker in it. I left the dana 30 in front because its a reliable front end up to a 34 inch tire and can be wheeled hard. In the future I would like to put a dana 44 up front but thats the future.
Sweet rig. Pretty much exactly what I'd like to do with mine!
@CnRDirt No backspacing and they are 15" rims
Yes it is posi when not locked. It works fine in any model other than the dana 30 as far as i know thats where it has its problems. And when I got it I paid $550.00 for it arount there at least. THanks for the above comment also.
@Polskmofo
This Jeep has the "Apex" trim, therefore it came like that from the factory. You could probably talk to a graphics shop and get one made though.
I got the same brand new equipment on my 2002 TJ Sahara. Pro comp 4 inches lift, 2 inches body lift, 4.56 gears and 33's BFG.
I have a question: Don't u feel the jeep too much difficult to drive in lows?? i mean, i feel it like too much nervous while driving...hard to control gas on obstacles maybe caused of too short gears....Is it right or maybe do u think i need just to have more confidence with my TJ??
Tell me..
thx bye bro!
@WranglerTJ02 In this video here they 33x12.5x15 Firestone Destinations M/T's I now run 33x12.5x15 BFG M/T KM2's and absolutely love them
awesome jeep man
Hi,
i like your jeep. planning to put a snorkel on mine soon too :)
what kind of exhaust are you running?
sounds like a flowmaster 40 with a high flow cat
please respond I'm intrigued. haha
thanks,
Richard
what tire size is that?
i dont see it in the description
it looks good and performs better, ive only got 31s
they are 33x12.50 firestone m/t
yes i do there connected in the clips except the snow wheeling
love your resonse here lol. btw, awesome jeep. is it a 2.5? i have a 2.5 and id like to upgrade to the 33s and 4.56 gears. whats it feel like driving witht the 4.56 as compared to stock? did it change your mpg?
@TheGr8scott worked great for me, but by all means if you have the option of getting a dana 44 up front get it
Very nice Jeep!!
what brand tires are those and do you know if they come 31 x 10,5 nice jeep. I have a stock 98 .
@metalirocz28 an avrage off-road style tire will do fine. just remember that wide tires are SHIT in snow. so take that into consideration.
@SChiaradonna nuttin is over kill just bad ass. I have had my TJ for a little over a year. I have to save every penny nickel dime and quarter. for my build.I have put skidrow skid plates under her they have saved me a lot of money already. I run a ham radio. the winch is next. then the lift than at least one locker. my friends have named it the iguana . with a name like that well it better climb like one. happy jeeping =) OllllllO
R U still happy with the OX locker system? Looking for the plus & minus from users before I buy/install in my CJ7 - thanx
with all the water crossing, do you ever find you have to grease your wheel bearings?
you got jeep skills.
oh yea for off-roading is a manual trans better or an auto? thanks!
Hey, correct me if I am wrong, but the ected is a posi when not locked??? how well do you find it works? And how much did it run you???
@09adge13 Yes thats true you will need both of those..
thanks for sharing, keep on jeepin
