Question: (and I know this is five years old ;-))
You don't look like a person that needs much weight, yet during these skill demonstrations you seem to have quite some weight on your belt, any reason for that?
Another question (perhaps the answer to the previous question, is the same :-)):
I keep falling backwards, when doing this hoover. how do I prevent that?

      Hi Bert,
Thank you for your comment :) I normally have way less weight on me when I fun dive, but when I teach I like to have a bit more weight on me. This makes it very easy to demonstrate skills. Like in this video I use the extra weight to emphasise that you can add extra air, if the first time was not enough. If I was perfectly weighted I would not even need to add air into my BCD and then I can't demonstrate it well.
Another reason is that when you are a Divemaster or Instructor it is easier to control your students, when they perform skills or panic if you have a bit more weight on you, otherwise they can easily pull you up to the surface.
Anyway that is my preference. Some instructors like to use less etc. I say try it out and see what works for you.
Note: you should never overweight a student or fun diver, but as an instructor it is different.
For your other question: Falling back wards has to do with many reasons. It could be your position or/and: Your equipment, position of your weights, are you using integrated or a weight belt, your experience etc. Usually this will go away after just more repetition of the skill, but if not then try to hover in a different position. You don't have to be in this position, you can hover in any position for this skill :)
I hope this helped and have a good day Bert!
