What a do bud is once a have three course of brick on the front and I am going to do the brickwork first,a run the first course of blocks in all the way round so it's nicely set off when you drop on it , saves the old back and the chew on bit , keep up the good work and vids 🍻👍
Good stuff Budd, I still do them that way when I can, far superior way of doing it compared to the more modern way of bunging in a closer. It makes me chuckle when lads who haven’t seen it before are setting off a window and can’t figure out how to backweight the first one 😂. All the best 👍
Cheers Ted , I totally agree these cavity closers are one of the worse things to happen to the building trade , most bricklayers under 35 have never seen it done properly, or building inspectors either, many thanks for watching 👍👏🧱
Was the best way to close cavity's still do it like that on garages not fussed on cavity closures but what do I know greater powers know best in there mind, nice but of brickwork that👍
@@dciburnsidesniffsniff6119 Dont know about sites but on domestics our local BC allow it on garages and on habitated dwellings if you use Dampcore or simmilar.
@@BuildingwithBudd Yes mate. It hasn't had any rest for the last 4 months. Good thing is i haven't turned on CH this winter. Keeps lounge warm till 3 ish in afternoon after last logs and a little coal about 10 in the evening. 👍👍
That’s it harsh mate. !! Me and budd don’t always agree but if your gunna criticise the fella make ya point with but of reason behind ya comment !! Otherwise when I find ya I’ll bang your out sunshine
Great job. Those red clamps are the best invention ever.

Traditional build that's the way you do jams keep up the good vids mate 👍
Many thanks for watching 👍

How is the mortar light grey before its dried, where i am its always a darker brown colour before its dried, is it the sand ?
I can only guess it’s the sand, cheers for watching 👍
Great video.
Cheers for watching 👍
Good solid job Bud 👌
You say that Andy but couldn’t close up the openings on new builds not allowed no more

That’s interesting to hear Andy just goes to show Regs ain’t black or white more about opinion and where ya based I guess 👍
@@dciburnsidesniffsniff6119 Yep I believe Scotland is different again, all the best fella 👍
We have to return them on houses East Midlands, with silver bubble wrap and dpc no more formers for doorways
Should you not have set out your door openings below dpc.... before pouring your concrete floor 🤔
what was it roll that 100mm damp out and it was tea time
That should be insulated dpc up the reveal that will cause cold bridging
It’s a garage!!
Tidy mate
Cheers Jim Jam , how did you come up with that name , Jim Jam 👍😊
Only way we do it in Scotland bud
👏👏👍
Hi Budd. It that having blown in insulation 🤔
Doug , it’s a garage no need for insulation on this one 👍👍
@@BuildingwithBudd Didnt know is was a garage 🙄😂
Get your wood burner on overtime this week Doug , going to get a bit colder for a while 👍🔥

Keep warm 👏👍
Nice job bud!! It’s alway nice to see abit of corner building, don’t see it enough 😅
You sound like a Norfolk boy
That’s right Boi 😊👍👍
I miss the way we did reveals, now it's cheap and nasty, it's funny, because on expensive houses (million +) we still do traditional!
Dave I couldn’t agree more , what we have to do now is a joke, and I think it weakens the build, but what do I know, many thanks for watching 👍👍
Your not allowed to close the cavities off up the openings budd ?? Building regs won’t allow it no more check that fact out pal I’m not kidding ya
Way it’s always been up Scotland close cavity with then leave a 10mm check for window or door
Reason we have cavity closures to install you shouldn’t just rely on vertical damp to stop water travel
Sniff it’s a garage 👍 Portsmouth on a roll 😂😂
Pompey smashed up Bolton mid week how’s the tractor boys doing budd 😂😂
City hit and miss Ipswich just hanging in there , hopefully they won’t go up 👍
Slow
Possibly the worst bricklaying TH-cam video ever

How 😮
Takes me bout week to find peeps online when I do !! I go do them 👍
Didn't like the go pro camera moving around all the time filming . Made it hard to watch and it ended without a end .
Old school
Best school 👍
