8:45 Do the pan settings have an effect when applied to an output that's not going direct to the output bus? I thought operators had mono inputs... or is that not the case for the filter?
when I double up 2 sine waves the volume alternates with every note even though the velocity is the same and the two are perfectly in phase, and neither wave is detuned- is there any setting hidden away that I haven't considered which could be causing this?
anyone know how to delete the anchors in the envelope? after i create them by holding command and clicking, doing the same on each anchor doesn't delete them like absynth does??
can someone help?? every time i try turning the volume up for the operators there's no sound coming out I've made sure that the operator gets sent straight to the output but there's still no sound, is this a bug or something??
when you route an oscillator into another oscillator you being modulating instead of controlling volume. This means the simple sin was is being modulated by another simple sin to create a much more complex waveform! You can make very odd and unique waveforms using this technique and blend between them by 'modulating' different amounts. The math is fairly complex, but here's a post on FM synthesis. soundonsound dotcom sos/apr00/articles/synthsecrets.htm

Can Octane do some more please?
I agree :P
HI .. What Headphones do you use ?? I like the sound of your production
good stuff chris keep em coming
How does he change the filter to make it a wave in the sustain at 5:10??
does he press a certain key as he clicks?
please help

please more. love your voice. you are a great tutor!
Wicked. Thanks man.

Awesome tut. Thanks a lot
good tutorial. thanks
Where is gone the part 2 of it? Google's depths have given me a link but TH-cam keeps yelling at me it's dead and buried. :(

alot of work for weird sine wave sound you can recreate in massive in like 1 second but this taught me alot so thanks aha
Thank you
i was so confused because i just started using fm8
awesome
Most useful tutorial ever.
Woooow thanks dude
Where are you Mr. Octane?
useful tips.
14:00 YES!
did you ever get a reply? Ive ben trying to figure that out as well. Please let me know :)

Lets all blast sine waves for 15 mins!!! wo!
hodl on, everytime he talks his chest lights up. SICK TSHIRT!
when he added E it gave it a cool digeridoo sound.
im gonna start with....ayyyeeeeeeeee
It's very hard to follow his steps
That's the one Chris. Make a new sound - a "blunk putch"
I giggled
heh
master
its not his tshirt. its something on the screen
key sync bro
click on the dots
sounds like noisia!
mmmh we have the same headphones. INSTAMATE
Do GCSE science and find out.
not at all lol, closer to drum and bass maybe if you want to generalize
He's teaching you how to use FM8, not make your sounds for you.
