My wife insists on stacking cutlery in what I consider to be the wrong way up in the plastic container. So when you select one piece you have to pull it out by the end of the spoon, fork or knife. I have tried to tell her that isn't hygienic. She ignores that and just says having the business ends down in the bottom is unhygienic! A small thing and others like it are obviously not worth making more of...as long as with the big decisions, eg on what we can afford. she follows what I say.
Some of us chose agreeable Filipinas so we have the "upper hand" (your word) and we lead the house. It depends on if one is worthy of being looked up to, I suppose.
My wife runs the house. She has a way of doing things and if I interfere in that, I think I'd lose my head. I run our finances, I earn it and I ensure all of our necessities are covered and I make the majority of the final decisions. I'd consider her to be a submissive partner, BUT, I don't control her. She chooses to defer. I'm not sure how I make that make sense without it sounding something like it isn't. We have a huge amount of respect for each others input. She has spent time living with me in a western country. She has a college degree. She has chosen the life of a housewife. If she puts her foot down over something, I can't command her to do anything. She doesn't obey me blindly. At the start of the relationship, we discussed how to split out the responsibilities in a way we both felt comfortable with. At times it might feel like "Hi Honey, I'm home!'..., but everyday I have to earn that with my actions. I have had to accept they do things differently here at times and I often don't agree with how they're done, but I do know when to just accept it, ignore it and move along. My wife knows my tolerances now too, so she understands how much she can push me and how to push my buttons if she doesn't agree with my answers haha... I think the important thing is you talk about the relationship you really want BEFORE you get too serious and don't compromise by simping or fearing losing her if you don't change yourself for her. I think the best relationships are where you already have similar ideas at the start and sure, some tweaking here and there is still required (and ongoing), but never give up on what it is you really need/want. Any other silly drama, if I can't set her straight... well.. in the grand scheme of things, I'm still doing well :)
Haha I don’t think us being always wrong is limited to Filipina women! Spent 25 years being wrong with a western woman! I will say it’s far less so with my Thai wife but it still happens! The nature of the beast! Lol
Sheena and generally don't get into heavy discussions about much of anything. But, when we do, I'm the one to generally piss her off for four or five days and I'm endure the silent treatment for five days or so. ThisI situation usually in the morning when she religiously sweeps the house floor with a strawbroom only and thinks that's adequate. Then I get a damp cloth and wipe a spot on the floor to show the remaining dirt left on the floor and I suggest she get a mop and clean dirt off the floor. That's when everything goes on silent running for awhile. No problem! I just endure it. I think the problem stems from her spending her younger years living in a nipa hut with nothing but a dirt floor to clean with the strawbroom. Hard to break old habits. I've tried to explain that linoleum or a hard surface needs to be mopped in order to clean up the fine dirt the broom pushes around. It's to no avail. Oh well, twenty years from now it will make no difference to me. To me silence is golden. After all, I came here for peace and quiet. 😃
She knows the broom is insufficient you doofus. She's evading the time lost if she does it right. Perhaps a wide dust mop like janitors use in buildings. A spray bottle and then wipe the floor.
Very strange someone is replying on his channel pretending to be him but the grammar is off Police should do a wellness check just to make sure there are no bad smells coming from his house
I just say everyone's opinions are based on their experience, I'm double your age, worked for longer than you have been alive and lived in 3 different countries with different cultures, travelled to dozens of countries, still I can't win😂😂😂😂
Good video John.
Yes, they always know best. Even doing the washing while I go to the mall for soup in the A/C. I hate it when I'm wrong ... Lol
Oh that's simple. Just don't ever be wrong.
Thanks for reminding me that I made the right decision to never get married. 👍
My wife couldn't wait to get her washing machine
