No.#753 I LIEBE YOUR NATURE WIDEOS. :) XO Willow trees take a lot of water, but they a nice. My Opa grew one and make it grow like a palm tree! We had to chop it down when they make sewerage system in. :(
It is a beautiful garden, Vanessa, and very natural looking. You have a nice, wee burn running through it, too. Where there is water and vegetation in combination, you'll always find insects and other arthropods. Wonderful. And hard work.

Vanessa, I am 71 now and live alone on 3 acres. In the past, I built a small barn for dairy goats, and found that I fell in love with them. But like you, the winter made everything harder....shoveling to the barn after a long day at work, keeping their water from freezing, etc. I eventually had to sell them, which pretty much broke my heart. Twice since then, I've adopted a pair of young wethers just to have as companions. Now, even they are gone and the barn is used instead to store firewood and my kayak. I still dream of the beautiful days with my goat friends and in an ideal world I would have them once more. Thank you for sharing your beautiful homestead with us. Best wishes to you.

I really like your cat. He's definitely earning his keep by chasing away the rats. And he's so friendly too. Cats are such amazing animals. They cover up their droppings. They even give themselves a bath.

The people who say bad comments about animal harvest, will never agree no mater how you explain to them,,, even when you tell them how their hamburger or bacon & egg muffin is made, or what it is made from, they will never , never admit they need this to happen for them, but I do love how your big heart cares how other people feel and think. On this one property I would always toss apple or pear cores on the side of the fields or on the edge of the one pasture. Now there are a few apple trees and pear trees growing with some over 40 years old now. Then me and Jeff (the grandson of the man who owned it before) were up at the cabin there, with his sons and we were talking about it and he always did the same thing. Just he did not remember doing it with pears. On that 80 some acres there area about 30 apple trees and 6 pear trees all on the edges.

I love your animals and your stick fence! And that creek is wonderful. I used to run sled dogs and couldn't wait for cold weather and winter for many years. My friends and I would meet at the forest 4 times a week, train together, and there were quite a few races but as years passed, people died, or stopped doing it, or got older, like me. But all those years I never noticed the grey colors because there was something fun to do. I only have one Siberian husky left now but we walk every day in the woods as long as ice doesn't prevent that. It's good to have a winter hobby, or some special indoor projects planned to look forward to because otherwise it can get depressing. Thank you for respecting your food animals and for giving them a happy life while they are here.

Thanks for showing your creek in the drone shots. The water is really fast to be in a valley. Plenty of water for your animals and garden and the meadow. We had a very hard freeze here in Oklahoma in Feb. Minus 13F(-22C) at Young Farms. It killed 60yr old trees at my home. It also killed many harmful insects as well as the "good" bugs! Of course, mosquitoes and ticks seem to have survived.😝 Loved the tour of YOUR backyard, Vanessa. From MY farm, Earl❤🇩🇪🚜🇺🇸

A small garden tractor with some implements would make life so much easier on a small farm... But I know you like doing things hands on. Hello Vanessa , your self sufficiency farm is a very natural way of having a farm 🚜 so I don't really know what your expectations for are , if you want to grow vegetables you should really have a dedicated area big enough for growing for what ever you want to grow , machinery with water 💧 going through don't mix with winter weather they just break , maybe its time to start looking at modernising machinery what you can , I'm glad 😊 your rat 🐀 problems have now seems to have gone , you have a lovely living natural lifestyle Vanessa. I know how you feel about fall and winter. I live in Oregon so it’s gets grey, rainy, in the fall and winter. Sometimes it snows and it gets dark really early.. I love the summer here! Flowers blooming, blue skies and the sun is out really early and summer nights are beautiful. It starts to get dark around 9-10pm. I love your videos!

The beauty of your homestead is idyllic. I'm loving how you incorporate so many aspects of self-sufficiency along with naturalist / bushcraft knowledge & techniques. For now, I only dream of living self-sufficiently and in harmony with nature such as you do, but everything you present brings me that much closer to being capable myself. ty ❤️
And you wonder about your energy level with all that still to take care of, but it's nice to know you have thinned it out abit to the level you can handle better. Lovely to have a running stream through your garden as that alone is a massive help. All the berry plants in my garden have gone mad this year so plenty of pies and jams coming up soon, and 2 Plum, 3 Pears and 5 Cherries trees have fruited for the first time in 3 years this years. So get out there sit down with a hot drink and enjoy the wonderment of things just appearing all by themselves, as then it is the guessing game to what they are. Rest easy. Arthur (UK)

Hello Vanessa , your self sufficiency farm is a very natural way of having a farm 🚜 so I don't really know what your expectations for are , if you want to grow vegetables you should really have a dedicated area big enough for growing for what ever you want to grow , machinery with water 💧 going through don't mix with winter weather they just break , maybe its time to start looking at modernising machinery what you can , I'm glad 😊 your rat 🐀 problems have now seems to have gone , you have a lovely living natural lifestyle Vanessa.

I know how you feel about fall and winter. I live in Oregon so it’s gets grey, rainy, in the fall and winter. Sometimes it snows and it gets dark really early.. I love the summer here! Flowers blooming, blue skies and the sun is out really early and summer nights are beautiful. It starts to get dark around 9-10pm. I love your videos!

The beauty of your homestead is idyllic. I'm loving how you incorporate so many aspects of self-sufficiency along with naturalist / bushcraft knowledge & techniques. For now, I only dream of living self-sufficiently and in harmony with nature such as you do, but everything you present brings me that much closer to being capable myself. ty ❤️

And you wonder about your energy level with all that still to take care of, but it's nice to know you have thinned it out abit to the level you can handle better. Lovely to have a running stream through your garden as that alone is a massive help. All the berry plants in my garden have gone mad this year so plenty of pies and jams coming up soon, and 2 Plum, 3 Pears and 5 Cherries trees have fruited for the first time in 3 years this years. So get out there sit down with a hot drink and enjoy the wonderment of things just appearing all by themselves, as then it is the guessing game to what they are. Rest easy. Arthur (UK)
