80 साल पहले जंगल था कनॉट प्लेस !
ये सिर्फ़ कोई सफ़ेद इमारत नहीं ये दिल्ली का दिल है!
दिल्ली के दिल में मौजूद मोटे मोटे खंभों पर खड़ी एक जैसी दिखने वाली खूबसूरत सफेद इमारतें और तरह-तरह की सुख-सुविधाओं से भरा बाजार जहां 24 घंटे टहलने वालों की भीड़ लगी रहती है। जी हां मैं बात कर रही हूं आज “कनॉट प्लेस” की। क्या आप जानते हैं कि आज इमारतों और बिल्डिंगों का कनॉट प्लेस किसी समय में घना जंगल और जंगली जानवरों का बसेरा हुआ करता था?अगर नहीं,तो आइए जानते हैं कि कैसे इन घने जंगलों को हटाकर विश्व का पांचवा सबसे महंगा स्थान कहे जाने वाला कनॉट प्लेस बसाया किसने?
⁃ बात आज से लगभग 80-90 साल पहले की है जब दिल्ली के कनॉट प्लेस में Central park, Palika bazaar Reagan और Plaza सिनमा हॉल की जगह चारों तरफ़ केवल घने जंगल हुआ करते थे। जंगल के साथ ही आस- पास कुछ गाँव और पास में एक मंदिर भी जिसे आज मशहूर प्राचीन हनुमान मंदिर के नाम से जाना जाता है।
⁃ वर्तमान में कनॉट प्लेस कहे जाने वाला यह इलाक़ा किसी समय में माधोगंज गाँव के नाम से जाना जाता था।
⁃ अंग्रेजों को यह जगह काफ़ी पसंद आयी अंग्रेजों ने सोचा कि दिल्ली में भारत की सबसे बड़ी Market बनायी जाए......
