Is it recommended to add the Garden Lime Calcium Carbonate when you first plant your seedlings outside (will it hurt seedlings or burn them) or do you recommend waiting until they are a little more established? Thanks for your help and all the information!

lime supports nitrogen. Adding lime to your garden soil improves water penetration and with the raised pH, the plant nutrient.. it wouldn't lower it .. always add coffee Grounds or green grass clippings to boost nitrogen.. if needed
I got 2 of the same zuchinni plants one in a pot and the other one is in a raised garden bed. both got a slow release fertilizer in the soil. and I find the plant in the pot is larger and greener and grows fruit faster. and the plant in the raised bed is a lighter green color and is smaller. does this sound like a lime deficiency issue or a nitrogen deficiency. I have noticed on the smaller plant 1 female flower turning yellow before blooming.
You could mix 1 cup to a 5 gallon ... If you buy any different type, always double check the description in the back of the box.. Will let you know the direction of how much to mix...
So I never used that one before I looked it up and it looks good , also blood meal fertilizer is good ! I never really fertilized herbs before , I guess by using the home compost it's rich with everything that's why..
You might be right , I never had any problems before... you could separate them on different days.. add fertilizer for us and wait a couple days and then add lime if needed..
I've used powdered milk mixed with water to fix blossom rot and it works!!
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this! Will have to try that soon
Bought the lime and I am going to fix this this time. Thanks!
You're welcome
Cheers bro. Have used cal/nitrate this year on my tomatoes Got a bag of lime sumwhere.
Nice ! This lime helps a lot.. I use it on my tomato plant, pepper, plant, watermelon and more... Happy gardening 🌱
I’ve been getting this on my squash. Should I try this on those too?
Yes, absolutely , works on zucchini plant squash, pumpkin peppers, tomatoes etc
Do you use this in replacement for fertilizer, or do you still have to use fertilizer on the side ?
You have to still use fertilizer.. this is just extra calcium, which some of the plants need as they are producing a lot
Thank you. You both answered my question

I would Wait before adding anything... Let the seedlings adapt to the outdoors first... To be safe ..

Does this lower the nitrogen content? It changes the ph to less
Acidic

That sounds like a calcium problem. .. I would definitely increase the calcium. Garden lime , some people use powder, milk, whole milk
Three hand full doesn't help me...i need to know the exact mix per gallon please

how often do I use the mix once a week or every time I water? I have blossom rot now.
Once every 2 weeks or even once a month.. After applying this now wait a couple days and it will work ..
Thanks
welcome 🌱
Do you fertilize herbs? Is 5-1-1 fish emulsion safe for herbs?
So I never used that one before I looked it up and it looks good , also blood meal fertilizer is good ! I never really fertilized herbs before , I guess by using the home compost it's rich with everything that's why..
Have you tried baking soda?
So I tried baking soda to fight off powdery mildew.....
@@Greentgarden It's suppose to raise the PH too.
How often should you use lime on container plants?
As the plant starts producing I would do it every 2 to 3 weeks
Thank you so much!
Your welcome Gayle 🙏🏾🌱
How much dolomite to apply to a 3 gallon container.
So 1-2 tablespoons per gallon or water..
Mix well
Thought I heard on another video not to mix lime and other fertilizers because creates a chemical reaction. But idk
