It’s a pity that the very eloquent and fact filled speech is to only a handful of politicians and You Tube followers. The majority of Kiwis probably won’t hear or see this.
I don’t understand why NZ are closing its coal mines and not proceeding the oil and gas exploration. Local production of raw materials for energy will benefit New Zealand in a long run at it will maintain its manufacturing power. By being counterproductive in resource and energy sector, it will jeopardise the manufacturing capacity and the energy cost will definitely rise because 1. Extraction of resources are halted that we need to import raw materials for energy and 2. Importing raw materials for energy will be much more expensive and absolutely not good for the environment in general. Only the cartels will benefit for that. I’m from the Philippines and what I observed here and there is that the demand for energy there is much higher (140 million people) to the point that despite of we’re having coal, natural gas, solar and geothermal is not enough that we have to import coal or gas and even considering nuclear power and that is understandable due to the high demand of energy. But here in New Zealand, the population nationwide is just 5 million plus. That is why I don’t understand the basis on why NZ government needs to halt the local raw material extractions for local energy supply. 600% energy cost increase since 2021 is unacceptable even for a third world country. Remember that importing raw materials for NZ energy demands will be damaging and it will cost us more. I also want to add that these “renewables” will not be useful for a country that needs to boost its manufacturing power and to lessen energy cost.
Hopefully he can get some sh#t done , put his words into action awesome speech ! Stick your climate change I’m up for clean and green nz not this bull Sh#t carbon tax
Shane Jones uses two words that are like music to my ears. Those two words are 🫡 "NEW ZEALANDERS"🎉 words loved by all New Zealanders that love & are loyal to this nation. New Zealanders that have had generations of their family members have work hard, shed blood sweat, tears & also died in service to New Zealand, to allow todays New Zealand citizens to be safe, have freedom of speech and to be able to live in prosperity not on the treadmill of hardship or provety. Shane clearly communicated his commitment to New Zealanders & New Zealand during his speech.🎉 Well, New Zealand First 🇳🇿
The crux of the matter is the average kiwis need to get off their ass (including me) and consult their local representative. Voice the concerns that matter to you and your family. Choosing not to turn on the heater got me because i can assimilate exactly that sentiment. A well articulated speech Shane! A united NZ is the only way we can change anything.
Shane you are a great orator, speaking the blunt truth. Keep up the great work to get New Zealand back on track. We need a clear roadmap to allow New Zealand to continue using gas, oil and coal until New Zealand is ready and able to transition to renewable green energy sources.
Go Shane, call out the Stone Age folks and the Greedy one's. Our energy supplies need to be well planned and structured for NZ's future and well being. The left folks have had a good go at stuffing our future, time for real change.
I know they can't all be there with meetings/ travel etc, but it's kind of depressing to see the chamber 80-90% empty of our elected representatives. Makes you wonder if they just can't be arsed if they don't like the people intending to speak. Wouldn't get away with that at a normal workplace. You just wouldn't.
