Hello everyone, in today's video we will be going to Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska. This is the case of Kevin Robert O'Keefe who disappeared on a two week, hiking/camping adventure in Glacier Bay National Park in September of 1985. Kevin was a very experienced outdoorsman and had taken several wilderness survival classes before flying to Juneau from his home in Sacramento, California on September 20, 1985. This is the story of what happened..

I knew a guy who's father went to Alaska to hunt. He was experienced in the wilderness, and an experienced hunter. He never returned, and they never found him... All they found was a pack, with some of his belongings, possibly hanging off of a cliff. His family had always suspected bear predation. He was married, with several small beautiful children and a wife... Its so sad when people disappear, and just vanish...

This reminds me of a 411 case, where a young man disappeared while working within a group. The only evidence they found was a pile of loose change and one of his boots in a fence that was over 100 yards away from where he was with the group.
People actually believed he was picked up, turned upside down, then suddenly whisked away before anyone noticed. I believe it was one of the first cases where people started to believe aliens and portals where responsible for the disappearances in the forests.
In the case of Mr O'Keefe, it's a shame they didn't test the area for radiation or the presence of "another". According to Native American lore, animals stay clear of areas that a Sasquatch/Bigfoot wondered through.

    • @unropednope4644
      @unropednope4644 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

Saying "people" and implying many have offered this theory is incorrect. The only person who made the theory that he was picked up by something and pulled away was paulides. I was a huge fan of paulides and his research/work for many years and constantly defended him until I started researching his cases on my own. I found that he consistently leaves out relevant information that might make his cases less mysterious and twists facts to suit his narrative. For example, on the case your referring to of Christopher thompkins, his boss stated that he had been acting very strange before he vanished. His mother stated that she felt his coworkers had something to do with his death and one of them even hired an attorney a week later. These bits of information opens up alot of possibilities about his disappearance besides supernatural. Paulides also loves to make wild and absolutely crazy assumptions about the victims he profiles as evidenced in his recent video on his channel posted on Friday of last week. He literally stated it was impossible for a missing rancher to have had an accident on his horse since he was so experienced. This is an outrageous assumption and very irresponsible to make. He has also blown off theories of a hiker having an accident in the woods and doesnt even explore the possibility because the hiker was very experienced in outdoors. I'm not saying all his cases are BS but I can't stress enough that you need to check the stories he profiles yourself and not blatantly believe everything he says.

I've read the whole incident report multiple times&the most compelling piece of evidence is the food being left as is. There's so many small ground animals that would have eaten that food(mink, marten, ravens are notorious scavengers around here for example) much less a bear...it truly is strange...but at the same time I try n keep opened minded that this IS rough terrain, no matter how prepared, things can happen.....but really, I think its super strange for sure 🙃

I think its also important to note that depending on the terrain in AK, not every type of ground cover is going to hold animal tracks past the next rain...which will be here by the next day! Seriously though, we have a great percentage of ground that is covered in moss. It springs back into its original shape immediately. Obviously, if there were a predation recently, the moss would probably show activity for at least a few days, but that stuff grows constantly. Then, we have lots of fallen and rotten leaf coverage that is constantly being replaced. If a beach is covered by anything besides rocks, its an anomaly almost, and the rocks don't show foot prints. Obviously, there are types of ground that would show tracks for a short while, and I am sure there are some good scouts that could track things other people couldn't, but if they just put a bunch of ground pounders out there, it would just really depend on the terrain he was in. Living in AK, I personally find the fact that the food was left alone indefinitely the most curious factoid here. That is VERY strange! I certainly wouldn't go camping alone here! I probably wouldn't even go with anything short of armed wilderness guides, Coast Guard and some very faithful believers who know the stories from the weird side of things and are not afraid of them. When we came in from my back yard in the morning, Id be taking a hot bath and giving thanks to the Almighty for safety. Also, I do have a Mama bear w 2 cubs and one really huge male bear that make about a month long stay in my immediate area every summer....they definitely come from the creek area in the back yard, so...I wouldn't be camping in my back yard during summer. That leaves winter. ... I think I am traveling out of state to a nice hotel!!

It is for some reason common on these types of cases globally, that shoes/boots are found a mile or something away. There are dozens and dozens of cases like this. What is this thing with boots always? Shoes/boots so often found some distance away when somebody disappears. If you try to reason it with cynicism, boots are propably only thing animals will not want to eat. I dunno.

Poem titled, "His Memory Began." (Rev.)
His memory began the day I heard,
For my mission began where he left off,
No way to know which way to look,
Little remained on trail or tree.
For he loved to trek & dream his time away.
From the colored fields & standing pines.
From the misty mountains that keep the air.
This is what can live or die,
    It whispers in the air.
But I'm here now to coax a way,
From some wandering soul, put to test,
From the dusty tract that keeps & claims,
Some message, here & there, in the mountain air.
I go on to view these things,
Till strength all drained & slowing feet,
Closer to some edge of unknown void,
To feel my blood & some danger too,
Nearer to his test & waiting time,
Seen in a far horizon with moaning air,
Here he'd vanished, where I'd dare not go.
He'd gone missing in the mountain air.

8:44 He couldve been abducted by aliens which would've explained why the area near his camp site was avoided by the local wild life. Also would've explained why his gear was abandoned. Animals are more attuned to Geographic and atmospheric changes to their environment and after a Flying Saucer touches down it always leaves traces of magnetic or radioactive material sometimes even hydrophobic matter too in the area. So the animals wouldn't of liked that much.
