and also, i gotta say that even with all the modern day first person highly intense combat malarky, none of those games are anywhere near as frantic as Llamatron, Jeff Minter is a fucking genius :)
the game player isn't holding his fire in the same direction allowing him to strafe vertically whilst scrolling horizontally. when you do this you're much more effective and get to screen 20 or 30 without losing a life. go straight to bottom of screen if level permits and wipe them out. my friends and i managed to get beyond level 100 holding the fire direction whilst moving in all directions
Terrific videogame. It's one of the only ST games that I can run on Hatari right now, and I'm very thankful for that because Llamatron just kicks. I've also discovered that the game runs much faster and smoother when the CPU is set to 16MHz, without any frame skipping or slowdown. On the emulator, I select Mega STe, 16MHz and 4MB RAM. That seems to work best. The 512K version of Llamatron is also notably inferior and is best avoided. The 1MB version of the game is the definitive take. Thanks for sharing!
@properjakey One time when my parents were blessing the food my brother was playing llamatron in the other room and it did that hahahaha it was the only time I heard it say "oh fuck" lol every other time it would just say "oh (boom)" lolol
Aw, I was hoping we'd see the exploding toilet! 😢 One of my favourite games from way back. Thanks for the memories.😊
Loved this game. The digital sounds - WoW
man, I used to love this game, I'd forgotten all about it!
I remember this! I miss being 10 years old with no worries playing my STE.
Grew up too fast.
I played this for hours, good times
One of my favourite games on atari! So much memories
Llamatron is an epileptics worst nightmare.
The scream is almost as infectious as the voice from Sinistar.

Okay, so I used to play this game for hours. Eight minutes of this and I think my eyes are bleeding. Wow. o.O
I need more. MORE!
I loved this game. The flashing screen, the graphics, the sounds... so good and perfect to annoy your parents ♥
I played this game as a child. Now that I have epilepsy, I am not sure I could watch this long!
one of the best most addictive games i ever had on my atari and sounded feckin awesome
"OOOh!" This game is cool, I remember this. It makes me want to scream.
"Ah Ah Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!"
"Oh Yeah!" I like that.
Comes with a free spliff.
Well, nice to see that game again. Maybe I must boot up my old Amiga just to play.
As seen down the Lass o Gowies games night last night. Along with loads of weird looks from people wondering what the hell is that noise
Love those Williams system 7 sounds.
i remember being very confused by this game as a kid........not much has changed there!
such a trippy game!
Oh how I loved this game
Did Jeff Minter invent dubstep? This sounds just like it :)
If people wonder where modern EDM guys get their ideas from...point them at 80's/90's computer games :-D
I'm so glad someone else remembers the "oh fuck"... XD Is there a video of it somewhere?
What an awesome game :)
You can get the Atari ST version on Pompey Pirates disk 84 and 85. The DOS version is available on reloaded(dot)org
ohh yeh and shooting that thing at the end which screams!!!!
this would be a great game for epileptics!

Where can i get the full rom this???
I love you!
I saw level 9 twice I think...it almost spoils it seeing anything beyond there somehow
I think you can lock the fire direction, i.e you can shoot in one directon and walk in another. Makes it easier.
Yeah I think you can but i've forgotten what key it is.
It's a ROM, I think I was using SainT at the time.
Oh-- BOOM.
Use 2 joysticks, 1 to move, 1 for fire direction...

MY EYES!
The Mandelbrot always freaked me out as a kid, aside from that, I loved this game. Surprisingly I was better at this then Robo-tron...
Has sample - "Oooh - My Ar(se)..." from Porn film Flesh Gordon!
lol i remember using shrooms and playing this........
This game gave me seizures when I was a kid.
It was still awesome though.
