Please ladies, hire a housekeeper. Ive been one for 7 or 8 years, and ive only worked with a handful of black women. They are always apologetic about having to hire me and I have to remind them that we are helping each other. This is how I pay my bills. No one likes cleaning, but I love the time and freedom that it affords me. Most white people that I've worked with are used to having a housekeeper, so its no big deal. Middle Eastern people (older ones) are horrible, and ive stopped accepting them as clients. I would love to see more black women getting their house cleaned. Even though I'm quitting it very soon 😆
I plan to hire house cleaning services to clean bathrooms and all baseboards and corners 😁, I like the idea of the mutual benefits when hiring ladies who are in the business of house cleaning.

I used to struggle with this notion, now I embrace my feminine grace. I do the bare minimum to get the maximum return in work and relationships. I only invest my best efforts in my myself. I treat me like a queen.
I've been happily married almost 29yrs to my college sweetheart. I pray many others who still want a husband/spouse, find someone who is supportive and find someone who won't stifle your dreams to live your lives differently; out of the box. I am living my dream. It is possible for you too. Joy as a single woman, YES or Joy w/a partner. The bottom line is choosing Joy however it best fits you...Amen.
Most people don’t realize that they have been programmed to be consumers which requires you to spend your precious time in pursuit of things that in the end hold little value. If you aren’t hustling to make more money in order to have more things you are seen as having no ambition. We are trained to desire an unhealthy life. Doing as little as possible is considered lazy by some but in reality it is self-preservation from a very toxic world.
My mom opened a house cleaning business in her 40's and got her B.S. and M.S. and worked her business until her 60th bday. No guilt! I'm getting a house keeper soon!
Me too. I have LOVED being single these last 3 years. I’ve experienced the most personal growth ever in my life. What it’s actually done though is not convince me to stay single forever. It’s convinced me to find that partner that makes my life even better. It’s just raised the bar soooo high that any man that doesn’t recognize the goddess in me is going to be an instant turn off, no matter what. Goes without saying but just to avoid confused people- said partner would be adequately adored and supported in return because literally how could you not when you’ve been given such a gift?
This is one reason I agreed to move to Poland. When we first married, my husband asked me if I'd ever want to move to Poland. Back to his hometown. I said Heck no. I'm used to working and would want to continue to work. After several trips to Europe, I was hooked on traveling. The first half of my childhood dream. Then I started to write again. Hubby said to quit the job that kept me stressed and write. The second half of my childhood dreams. Once I started making twice what it would take to live in Poland, I suggest to him we should move to Poland. Like I really had to convince him. LOL. We had to wait for proof of his citizenship, which we received a week before Thanksgiving. The plan is to leave the day after his doctor appointment (his heart and device) so we're leaving in 83 days. Enough time to get our house ready to sell.
How long have you been in Poland? How do you like living there? What part of the country ate you in? Are you learning to language? My husband is Polish but he doesn't want to live there. He's from Poznań. His entire family is there and we're trying to go every few years. We're just planning a trip for summer 2022 to attend a family wedding.
@@serat0947 Actually, we're still here. He left in 1981, so 2012 was his first time back. I love it there. Plus, going to a different country is like going to another state. We would fly to Poland about once a year after we got married. We would have moved there last year, but hubby didn't have proof of citizenship. Then the initial paperwork was sent to the wrong state in Poland. When they sent the papers to us, the address wasn't spelled out correctly, but FedEx figured it out. So what should have taken 3 months pre pandemic took 11 months. Papers came in a week before Thanksgiving. We're leaving the the day after his doctor appointment for his heart and device. We'll be in Rzeszów in 69 days (I have a counter running on my computer). His older family really don't speak English (especially his best friend who lives down the road), but his younger family do and well well as most of the younger people.
@@MoniqueJoinerSiedlak_Author that's exciting! I don't see us living in Poland but I love to visit. So your husband left during Communism. Mine left late 2000s so he already had a Polish passport. He just renewed it this summer and the wait for an appointment in NYC was months. I know you know about that. Lol. I'm lucky that most of my husband's family speaks English. His parents, aunts/uncles, and cousins are all conversational or above with the exception of one couple. Are you good with languages? I've been learning a little Polish but it's so hard. I'm glad I ran across your comment. I never meet Black American women who are married to Polish men. 🙂 I'm excited about your move and I'm not even involved so I know you are beyond thrilled.
@@serat0947 I know Spanish fairly well, but when I'm around his family, I can get the feel of what they are saying. I do know the days of the week, left right and straight. We haven't practiced in a while since I'm trying to complete as many books as I can before we leave. Since all the kids are grown and have their own homes, it became the best to to go ahead and move.
Yes this topic is so necessary because Black Women do too much ALL the time for OTHER people! I started saying “NO” to everyone my job, my family, my friends, my community, and my church (which no is not a cuss word)! We get burned out and have health issues and have STUFF to show for it! Peace and ease is the goal like you said Stephanie!
Congratulations on the Black Enterprise article. As a mother six, who reared my children in Chicago. I can truly say that my three daughters ages 29,25, and 24 live the life of embracing ease!!!
If daughters wanted luxury, they'd attract a high earning man? It's the MEN who supposed to provide it, or...just relax I remember when stores were CLOSED on sundays, and dad limited hours.. Everything closed by 8pm
constantly grinding, hustling, and striving to obtain wealth is inherently masculine. This is a masculine trait, along with competition. We all have masculine and feminine, but its important to find BALANCE. participating in your masculine 24/7 always thinking about money is going to stress you out. this is why i feel so stressed and rough from constantly hustling and obtaining wealth. i had a short fuse, aggressive and stubborn. i'm now participating more in my feminine, have reduced my constant need for so much money, and my patience has increased 10 fold. I'm much more relaxed, caring, and flexible in my thinking. its a powerful feeling. we need to embrace our feminine as well. femininity isn't just getting your hair and nails done. you can LOOK very feminine and not be practicing in your feminine. there has to be balance
i love this mini!!!! i planned and put myself on sabbatical for the next three months. its only been a few weeks but i am still obsesing about work!! everyday i am like "what am i going to do about my business etc etc etc." allowing myself to be at ease feels like work because that's the mode i have been for so long. i have to intentionally find a time to just get away and let spirit do what needs to be done.
There is nothing masculine about women having the control that comes with financial control and security. Women can create wealth for themselves. The question is how.
@@cinemaclassica151 I’m sorry kim but obtaining wealth and hustling are masculine traits wether you like it or not. It’s something we are forced into given our circumstances. Now I’m not saying there is anything inherently wrong with masculine, we all have masculine and feminine. It’s about balance. But it becomes hard to balance when you’re in an environment that forces you into hustle mode 24/7. It’s difficult to practice in your feminine in the states cause when you’re always worried about money and how to obtain it.
@@minismalls3096 I just don't believe masculine and feminine are so rigidly defined and delineated. We are creations of God. God is neither male nor female. Yes, we have the sexes but how we define them is usually the product of made up constructs. Me having the power and control over my life that comes with having my own money is very feminine.
I feel for the blacks in America after all my observations. Being at ease is Ok for everyone or every human being. I can not understand why black people in America should be subjected to all these inhuman treatment. You don't need any one to direct your world. You don't have to feel les important or different from others because of your colour. I am Nigerian leaving in Belgium for the past 34yrs. I never really been subjected to all these stuffs as in America. There are racist in Europe but it has nothing to compare to what is happening in America. I walk with my head up and my children have excellent social lives and I have good social life too. I agree with you Stephanie America is hell for most blacks. There is nothing wrong at all to date out side your race. I have not been with a black man since I was 23 yrs and I am now 57 . I have black and White friend and family and even Mexican lady of whom I have been friend with since 1986, we are still friends. I mean, I don't feel inferior because of my skin colour. I admire my blackness and will never change it for anything in the world.
You are showing that it can be done. I am tired, single and much older. I don't feel like working myself to the point of exhaustion anymore, plus my health took a dive and that I got my attention. I have my own business that is growing. It is gradually growing by the grace of The Most High. I have downsize a lot and just want to live with less drama and stuff.
Stephanie this chat is so real🙏🏿. I just got back from the Caribbean. My husband realized my level of stress so he hired a man to cut the grass & a woman to clean and do laundry while we there. My son made friends to keep him engaged so I truly enjoyed the ease of only doing their meals.
Thanks for this video. I have had a problem with black luxury travel being defined as something black women need. Luxury is not the solution. I wanna be happy and peaceful!
I am so into this movement. In 2015 I asked myself why I felt hopeless, depressed, and stuck every single day- and only was age 25. I did something about the answers I uncovered. I moved to California, smoke my lil weed everyday, life the most lush pleasure-forward life with no kids and a community I'VE chosen for myself. Had enough quiet, relaxed, alone time to EXPLORE MYSELF AND MY PASSIONS- I was on the fast track for being and doing what society expected from me.
This really resonated with me sooo much! I recently entered my mid-twenties and feel the same way you described. I'm in school rn but plan to relocate when I'm finished. I may give the west coast a try after all! Thank you!
I can definitely understand how some women embrace ease by not dealing with a lazy partner, that is a great decision. I am married and we have 3 kids, however we are a team and work together and share responsibilities. We actually love but more importantly like each other. 😂 The funny thing is that my husband has always been a huge supporter of me embracing ease and I was the one holding myself back. He was right! Watching this channel has given me inspiration on how we(my family) can begin adventures abroad...with EASE! Stephanie, thank you for sharing your knowledge. It truly is life changing for me and that will benefit my family. I am capable of doing a lot of extra things but I won't.....I'm a believer in ease.😊
This idea that luxury is the thing is dangerous because these younger women are going to put themselves in massive debt trying to keep up with folks they see on Social Media. Lives of ease don't mean living beyond your means. It means living smart and planning your life in a way that allows you to live your life the way you truly want to live it. That IMHO should be the goal.
You also, make blk women aware that affordable travel is available to and FOR US-by becoming house sitters! 20 years ago I always wandered how others could get out of HS and back pack the world NOW I KNOW! The military is the only way to see the world! So I’m glad your message is for blk women because prior to your channel I never knew 98% of the things I know now! 💪🏾 So thank you for being for US! I WISH I knew this stuff 20 years ago!
I do order groceries and feel no guilt. I order through the supermarket website. I still put the groceries away myself but I love not having to traipse around the supermarket (Stop and Shop has Peapod delivery service) and use so much of my time when I could be relaxing or doing something else for myself.
I started ordering groceries during the pandemic and I never looked back! I order 95% of the groceries but I like to pickup a few things every once in a while. I order from a few different stores because I found that all produce is not equal. During the summer and fall I join a CSA and go to the farmers market.
I have my groceries delivered every Saturday morning from ShopRite (I’m in NJ), and pay someone to do my laundry. These are both things I once was staunchly against doing. I was an anxiety-filled, perfectionistic over achiever who had a nervous breakdown that has taught me the importance of slowing down and not thinking I have to do everything. It’s still quite strange for me, but my body and brain were on overload, so I’m adjusting to embracing ease.
One of the best things I decided to do was including getting my hair braided in my monthly budget. I set aside $100 a month to get it braided every 3 months. That extra hour of sleep before work and being ready in a minutes notice to go out is priceless. I also decided to pay the neighbors' kid $20 a week to take my garbage out 3 times a week (I live in an apartment) I have bad knees and live on the 2nd floor. My brother lives with me (semi-dusty) and will wait until it overflows. This alone will relieve a LOT of stress. I also believe in grocery delivery from Whole foods!
@@saramatthews7159 😂! He just got back from a stint working on a fishing boat in Alaska, and started a new job. Paid off my car because he said "that's what Daddy would have done" and paying 1/2 rent until he finds a place because as he said " no real man lives with his sister." Still dusty in how he deals with women as far as I'm concerned, but better than my ex husband ever did.

And our Daddy was a great example of how men protect and provide until he died: even with dementia,he would try to make sure I got home from work safe by having his nurse call every day(he still had the forethought to set his alarm clock to remind him, I work nights) until he died. I have always been hesitant to get my groceries delivered (covid has helped a bit with that) and to hire housekeeping (watching my grandmother clean her house daily by hand, i felt like it was a slap in the face to her). BUT, I do want more ease in my life, I friggin deserve it (and my grandmother deserved it), I've worked SO hard for SO long. SO, what I will commit to is to do way more grocery delivery from now on and to hire housekeeping for once a month to start (maybe work myself up to 2 to 3 times a month). So far, I have already reduced down my haircare routine and we bought a custom closet system, so I pretty much don't have to fold 90% of my laundry anymore (just hang it up).
I use delivery services for everything, I rarely shop anymore. I order online and have it delivered to my door no contact. I also bought a robotic vac that self empties and it's made my life easier with a big hairy dog who sheds. No more sweeping and mopping the floor. I love how tech has allowed me to eliminate toxic people and still get everything I need to live well.
I love the balance this conversation brings. I love luxury as well and have worked extremely hard to live the lifestyle I created. Adopting a lifestyle of do as little as possible is a struggle for me because I’m used to doing more than necessary. I know I’ll need watch this a few more times for it to really sink in.
I would love to hear more about CSA farming! I spoke to the few blk farmers near me and they all (minus 1) were in bad shape due to the drought and covid. They aren’t getting the same support as other farmers. (Not my words) so I would love to learn how to support local farmers
Yes Normalize free time. I have quit many jobs myself. Working 2 part time jobs and working my biz now. ( need a vacation)This is such an important conversation for us and so refreshing to realize we are not alone in thinking like this. I'm ready to travel and remote position sounds good and also will look into the youtube challenge.
Yes, I just started after embracing a life of ease at the age of 45. I noticed I was exhausted 😩 Now, I feel much better making money, doing the least amount of work possible. I've been binge-watching your videos because it's on my spirit to travel, visit countries, and enjoy other people from other cultures.
Wow that imbalance issue is so toxic. What a mean thing to do to your partner. I hope more women realize they deserve a healthy balance in their relationships and that does not mean only money. Women need love, so our time and love language is the currency in a relationship.
Commenting as I listen. Guilty hack: working full-time and managing a home were meant for two people to do (traditionally husband and wife). You are supposed have help doing both jobs. Two jobs are for two people 😂
My phone must have heard me talking about relieving stress in my day-to-day life and paying attention to what I've been purchasing lately as your channel appeared in my TH-cam feed. I am 31 and I am OVER the stress of doing it all by myself. I've realized that my entire life I've been in survival mode and have decided that it's time for me to live. In an effort to embrace ease I've purchased a portable washer, dryer AND dishwasher. I refuse to leave my apartment to do laundry anymore even if its downstairs lol. The dishwasher even has a fruit setting to it has also made food prep easier. I've also started ordering groceries through Shipt which has been a huge help as well. I've FINALLY found a woman in my area who knows how to care for my crown who I plan to utilize to replace the dreaded wash day routine lol. Next I plan on looking into hiring a chef each week to cook all of my meals and a housekeeper. I am no longer in the business of doing things that I dont enjoy or that causes me stress. And I'm so glad that I've found this channel to help spark more ideas. Thank you and please keep doing what you're doing 😊👊🏾👏🏾
thanks for this Stephanie. new subbie here. i do not feel guilty about getting housekeepers etc. over 15 years ago, a white girlfriend of mine told me she let the folks at laundromat wash her clothes. i was like, "WHET? that is so pretentious and privileged. and i dont want anyone touching my unmentionables." She said, "i work hard and i hate sittting in a laundromat. try it." CHILE...I did. when i ever got my clothes back FOLDED-it was a wrap!!!!! I've been getting my clothes laundered ever since. now, when i am at my mom's i do all of the laundry as she is in elder now and has a washer and dryer and i actually enjoy it. but when i am in my apartment it is much more easeful to take it out. i recognize this is a privilege. the funny thing, sometimes when i get my feet done ( by non black poc) i feel a certain type of way. i dont have an issue if they are black because i feel i am supporting ...it's weird.
You know the thing about us constantly pushing and trying to be perfect and take care of people...nobody really gas. People will take without even realizing that this is weakening us. And some people will intentionally take advantage. I retired in 2019 and have never had more income and less expenses. And I'm on a fixed income, lol Working kept me broke and worn out. Quitting working is the best thing I've ever done for me
Great live conversations! Thanks Stephanie, you are such a blessing!!💫 I plan to add more ease to my life by decluttering, making “me” a priority, completing my Trusted HouseSitters application, and booking business or first class on my next flight (I’ve also never experienced the airport lounges ✈️👀)!
I appreciated this video. I am similar age to you, and struggle with embracing ease in family relationships but fully embraced ease in romantic relationships by taking a sabbatical from them many years ago. the conversation about delegating chores to others as paid work. I don't struggle with the concept but I do struggle with the realities of underpaying for the domestic work just as others do. this has helped me decide that I can hire domestic help, but when i decide to do this I will be paying overmarket for the help (because this work is severely underpaid!!) my grandmother was a housekeeper for over 60 years; I cannot imagine doing it any other way. so i will wait until I'm able to do it with spiritual (as well as financial) ease.
Love this 💖 Less Stress is where its at! Still working on it, but my goal is to live my best life--while doing as little as possible too. Part-Time Van Life is teaching me so much about how to enjoy LESS Work and MORE Adventure with ease 😁
Thank you to Ms. Perry and all the women commenting with your input! I am learning a lot on this journey towards ease. One thing I have experienced as someone who doesn't like living a fast-paced, always on- the- go, grind until you burnout lifestyle, I find that others around me frown upon anything other than that. Anytime I have brought up the idea of doing less and moving at my own pace it's always, "how lazy", "sounds unfulfilling", "you gotta stay motivated". It's quite frustrating to say the least and saying that I am tired is an understatement. All I know is, I don't want to hear a peep from anyone who has made such comments once they see how more comfortable and less stressed a life of ease can really be!

I love all of this. I’m in the US and our dog is largely my responsibility and “pet waste removal” service is a wonderful thing. Yes, we pay someone to come to our backyard and pick up 💩. I would say it’s the best $15/week that I spend, but I also have a cleaning person who I cherish.

I’m going to add more ease to my life by asserting myself and expecting/welcoming accommodation. For example instead of waiting for vehicles to clear/go by I’m going to walk through the pedestrian area and they can just stop.
I've also not actively pursued dating/romantic life while raising my daughters. The youngest graduates next year so maybe that will be the time, or...maybe not.

It is possible for you too. Joy as a single woman, YES or Joy w/a partner. The bottom line is choosing Joy however it best fits you...Amen.
Amen❤
Most people don’t realize that they have been programmed to be consumers which requires you to spend your precious time in pursuit of things that in the end hold little value. If you aren’t hustling to make more money in order to have more things you are seen as having no ambition. We are trained to desire an unhealthy life. Doing as little as possible is considered lazy by some but in reality it is self-preservation from a very toxic world.
Amen, that is the way I start seing it now
Excellent comment 💓💕💞
Me🙋🏾♀️…I am definitely embracing singleness…more money…less stress!
My mom opened a house cleaning business in her 40's and got her B.S. and M.S. and worked her business until her 60th bday. No guilt! I'm getting a house keeper soon!
Not having a man has been THE BEST thing I've ever done
Lol alot of men tend to complicate progress for women.
Pretty much
Maybe you haven't found the RIGHT man!?
Absolutely, men can be a HUGE headache.
God bless you on your life journey!💕✨
Are the MEN in your church ACTIVE?
THEY SHOULD BE. its mostly THEIF responsibility
Congratulations on the Black Enterprise article. As a mother six, who reared my children in Chicago. I can truly say that my three daughters ages 29,25, and 24 live the life of embracing ease!!!
Job well done mom!
If daughters wanted luxury, they'd attract a high earning man?
It's the MEN who supposed to provide it, or...just relax
I remember when stores were CLOSED on sundays, and dad limited hours..
Everything closed by 8pm
SO glad to see black women leaving babylon!
Great phrase!!!
constantly grinding, hustling, and striving to obtain wealth is inherently masculine.
Yes Mini! that part and I'm here for it. Mo "Ease" please. 💆🏾♀️🧘🏾♀️🛀🏾
Me having the power and control over my life that comes with having my own money is very feminine.
i am learning this at 45. i have been doing a lot lately and i am tired.
Married 23 years. Divorced 13 years. Easy, wonderful, peaceful life ever.

I walk with my head up and my children have excellent social lives and I have
good social life too.
@@melbee5767 That is the way it should be.
Praying for you to have better health soon! I have been over to work hard thing for awhile! I am embracing doing less and enjoying more!
Greyhound therapy i call it. I moved FAR away from toxic relatives. NEVER regretted it.
Yesssss, let's change that message that we are the workhorse of the family.
He’s gotta bring something if he’s going to shorten my life😂😂😂too funny
I'm gonna create products that sell while I sleep! That is my vision of EASE!!! I can't wait for that to start.
Thanks for this video. I have had a problem with black luxury travel being defined as something black women need. Luxury is not the solution. I wanna be happy and peaceful!
Yes we are over the physical it is killing us and our sisters, we want and need rest (EASE) for our well begin !
Thank you!
I struggle with taking a break from caregiving in order to take care of my own health. I really need to take time for ME now.
I can definitely understand how some women embrace ease by not dealing with a lazy partner, that is a great decision.
I am married and we have 3 kids, however we are a team and work together and share responsibilities. We actually love but more importantly like each other. 😂
The funny thing is that my husband has always been a huge supporter of me embracing ease and I was the one holding myself back.
Yes!!!
I am going to get back my time by ordering groceries. I am already excited about that! I may also get someone to clean my home. Yayyyy!!!!
How old is your brother? He needs to get his semi-dusty butt up and start helping you.
@@saramatthews7159 😂! He just got back from a stint working on a fishing boat in Alaska, and started a new job. Paid off my car because he said "that's what Daddy would have done" and paying 1/2 rent until he finds a place because as he said " no real man lives with his sister."
Still dusty in how he deals with women as far as I'm concerned, but better than my ex husband ever did.
@@zakiyahamahad7404 well that is good to hear as long as he is helping you out and doing his share that is all that matters...im happy he's looking out for you
@@saramatthews7159 thank you, I wish a lot of BM would choose that path. I think it helps that he has a lot of WM as friends though. And our Daddy was a great example of how men protect and provide until he died: even with dementia,he would try to make sure I got home from work safe by having his nurse call every day(he still had the forethought to set his alarm clock to remind him, I work nights) until he died. I won't get married again until I find THAT kind of man.
@@zakiyahamahad7404 I am just happy that you've had good examples of what a decent and supportive man looks like...there are alot of women that could've used those examples growing up
I have always been hesitant to get my groceries delivered (covid has helped a bit with that) and to hire housekeeping (watching my grandmother clean her house daily by hand, i felt like it was a slap in the face to her).
You’re thinking so practically. I freaking love it!
To embrace more ease, I will not engage with people who troll me.
I'm letting it go. 😆 🤣 😂
You’re right!
Hustle, hustle, hustle. Easy is lazy.
Luxury is empty, but it takes maturity to learn that things don’t create peace and happiness.
My recommendation is get you a man with resources and lives out of town. Long distance is perfect for us, for now.
OMG, You are hilarious. What makes it funnier is you’re so natural.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am Working towards staying home. I am over climbing ladders and chasing degree. My dream at this point, I want 100% ease.
I am starting to work on my my exit plan from my job and the US, by joining your February, 2023 TH-cam challenge.

Yes, I just started after embracing a life of ease at the age of 45.
I noticed I was exhausted 😩
Now, I feel much better making money, doing the least amount of work possible.
I am a Babyboomer and this is my new chill spot😂😂
Im planning more vacations, ordering my groceries, enjoy running my business to MY satisfaction, and taking more time to relax and do "dumb stuff".
I am going to look into a periodic housekeeper and a masseuse monthly
You know the thing about us constantly pushing and trying to be perfect and take care of people...nobody really gas. People will take without even realizing that this is weakening us. And some people will intentionally take advantage.
I retired in 2019 and have never had more income and less expenses. And I'm on a fixed income, lol
Working kept me broke and worn out. Quitting working is the best thing I've ever done for me
Tell me more. How did you lower expenses?
Please write a book about this. This is so needed. I feel guilty sometimes not being productive enough....which is conditioned in this culture.
I love your hair! And of course, your content is soooooo valuable! Thank you for sharing! 🙌🏾💚
God Bless You.
