Finlay Rippey pretty sure he’s just really short, he was called Archie and originally kicked from the Illager tribe because he didn’t fight the hero with his teammates. Then he went to try to find a village to live in, but his background only got him hatred. Then he found and was manipulated by the Orb of Dominance, becoming Arch-Illager.
He was an Evoker, but messed around in another things like summoning and teleportation. I thought the Orb did it, but I think his power was " enchanted " by the Orb of Dominance. The Redstone Golems and Monstrosity were created by the Orb too, you can see them unactivated in the cave the Orb was found.

Here is his official backstory from the prequel book "Rise of the Arch Illager" Spoilers! Be warned!!! Archie's parents dies when he was very young and he was hardly any help to his Illager tribe. He insisted that if the Illager tribes of the overworld banded together, they could defeat the humans that constantly hunted them, but the Illagers thought that was nonsense. Illagers are power hungry by nature, so if they tried to unite, it would just be coup after coup One day, a human named Karl (who Archie knows instead as "Smacker") completely obliterates Archie's raid party, except for him and his childhood bully, Thord. Thord decided that it was all Archie's fault for not helping (even though he was told to stay out of the fight.) Thord reports to the tribe leader, Walda, and she banishes him. Eventually he arrives at the nearby village of Squid Coast. They are distrustful of him, but a villager named Yumi decides to take him in. He lived there for anywhere from a month to a year before Smacker returned. Smacker threatened to kill Archie, since he could never feel safe in a village if an Illager was there, no matter how small. Yumi wanted him to stay, but she had no choice but to tell Archie to run so Smacker couldn't find him. After a long time of searching, he found the Orb of Dominance, promising to give Archie anything he could ever want. It constructed Archie Highblock Keep as his home, and gave him six Redstone Golems to protect him. However, these golems could not last forever, so he'd need a forge to make more, and a mine to gather redstone, and he'd need workers to do it. The Illagers were willing to work for him, (once he proved the orb would not allow anyone to take it from Archie), but the Orb Insisted they would need to attack the villages of the continent so the Illagers would not get bored. It was a downward spiral, as one thing required another, each more evil then the last. He eventually killed Thord, who attempted to betray him, and depite how he tried to convince Yumi, his adopted mother, to join him, she refused. Yumi almost got him to quit the entire thing and just go back to living in the village, but the Orb, now partially controlling Archie's thoughts, would not let him. Smacker was scared away by Archie's custom made Redstone Monstrosity, and with the new title of the Arch Illager, Archie, or rather, the Orb, vowed to make all of the overworld suffer for taking away the peaceful life he could have had. However, there is no doubt that is the Orb was removed from the equation, Archie would try to undo his misdeeds. Deep down, he's an innocent boy. He never wanted any of it. By the time we actually get to the GAME, we aren't fighting Archie, we're SAVING him from being a puppet on strings.

Why do I feel like the orb of dominance is in someway related the End Crystals? Especially considering we hear the screeches of the Endermen as the Arch-Illager grabs it, and then there's the final boss itself, an Enderman spider thing
I wonder if there is just a conection between the illagers and the end in general, why did they have a statue of the arch illager riding the ender dragon and why did the front door had ender dragons on it? Did they went into the end? Did they slay the beast?

I love how this theme takes minecrafts most iconic instrument, the piano, and completely flip it on its head by using an organ instead for the main melody. The organ still feels very minecrafty but represents the more intense and exciting part of minecraft whereas the piano represents the peace.
I played through the entire game in 2 or three sessions, mainly because I was (and still am!) completely addicted to this game. And yet, I was completely unprepared for the Arch-Illager to transform into the Heart of Ender (I think that's what it's called?). I did notice most of the hints, but I thought they were just easter eggs. So I was definitely caught off guard when the tiny little Illager mage turned into this _giant twisted eldritch horror of the night_ and started shooting death lasers everywhere. I probably would've freaked out more if I wasn't so focused on not dying to the death lasers. Definitely a solid 9/10 boss fight, it was challenging and took a very unexpected turn at the end, but some of the attacks felt a little bit unreasonable as far as damage and avoidability were concerned. I can't wait to see more.
IKR I was with my friend and we killed him so fast and I was like “that’s it” then I heard a screech and I freaked tf out cuz it came running after us and we both died from it’s lasers and we barely won the fight because we weren’t prepared to fight that. Probably one of the best moments in gaming I had this year
The easter eggs are so cool. Even the fact that illagers have an end portal room in their mansions is an easter egg because they've been planning this game since they added those.

I spent the entirety of my blind first playthrough checking every single area I could find looking for secrets, and I actually did find quite a few. But there were also things like me not realizing that the numerous End-related references were hints about the final boss (I honestly thought the Endermen teleportation sounds were only there because it was already an established, recognizable sound tied to teleportation), and the VERY OBVIOUS "secret" level in Highblock Halls. But there was one mistake... One unimaginably stupid mistake, that only the most _painfully_ oblivious person could make. You'll want to sit down for this one. I played through most of the game, all the way until after the Desert Temple level... _without knowing how to select the enchantment I wanted to use._ I played through most of the main story only using the very first enchantment it highlighted, because _somehow,_ it never occurred to me to try moving the cursor left or right in the enchantment window. Needless to say, I can find secrets really easily, but I somehow always miss the obvious stuff.

I literally realized that when I watched Matapt's Illager theory. (I only beleive the ravager part, everything else is stupid) Archie is literally an exiled exile who was also exiled from the people who exiled the original exiles.
I love how most people in the comments know how Archie didn’t want all of what he did and what he went through, I also love how dramatic the music is, you can really feel the pain Archie went through and how at the end he gets released from the orbs grip, Archie was never the enemy, he is the victim/protagonist or main character.
Spoilers for the end The Arch Illager struggles. The Orb of Dominance has become sentient, and it is attempting to escape. It pulls and tugs at him as it tries to pull free from his staff. Until suddenly, it explodes, blasting away all your armor and weapons, and blinding you with a harsh white glow. The Arch-Illager, the enemy of the Villagers, was defeated. The Illager lies there, then opens his eyes with a vengeful look. However, he shakes his head, and he looks regretful. He notices you and your teammates. He cowers as you slowly approach. Great heroes saved the day, and vanquished evil. This is the end for him. But what's this? The heroes don't hurt the illager. They instead help him up. Then, all together, they dance at the peak of the Obsidian Pinnacle. Thanks to you, all was well... Until... It wasn't. A harsh storm crashes down at the Obsidian Pinnacle. The Orb of Dominance lays in pieces. The pieces begin glowing. They slowly move towards each other. The pieces all come together to reform the Orb of Dominance. The End.

I can relate. It is by far the best music track in Minecraft Dungeons. I think the Arch Illager would also make a great third boss for vanilla Minecraft.
I still remember how I thought I beat the arch illager on his first phase, then the heart of ender appeard. I used up half of my corrupted beacon. When he started firing it's lasers, I thought to myself, "Finally, something that can match my *TRUE* power!"
Came back to this theme after the game is pretty much abandoned now - they basically don't update it. And now that my main friend I played it with is not doing good. 1:34 hits me hard );
From what I understand, "the heart of ender" is what was corrupting Archie and is infact the weak form of its true form called The Ender Demon, a being so powerful it warps reality and space and even time, but ever since it was defeated by the ancients, it was bound to a crystal or as we know it, the crystal of dominance, with this the ender demon has been traped in the crystal for millenias but it is profited to come back and reek it's revenge on the players and turn the overworld into the new END, and it will rule as the god of the minecraft universe for all of eternity, it is said that once it reaches it's full power, only one being can stop it, only one being is more powerful then the ender demon, only one holds the power over it, but unfortunately this being is not known, the only thing that is found of this mythical being are legends found in ancient caves, and there are eleged sightings of the being, but no proof, all that's known is that the being is seemingly allpowerful and is always watching, and has been around since the creation of minecraft itself, and the being never shows its face, but some how is every were and no were at the same time, we'll regardless of who it is, they are the only one that can defeat the Ender demon once in its true form and have gained it's full power, but just to clarify the heart of ender was simply the Ender demon's weak state and not even it's true form or full power.
This theme reminds me of Kirby. It has alot of Kirby vibes to it. Almost like you could throw it as a final boss theme for Kirby and it would fit right in.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but thinking about it now, Magolor and Archie are kinda similar in a way. They are both controlled/influenced and later taken over by a greater evil in the form of an sentient object and both regret it later. And they are both short lol

Don't you just hate it when the Arch Illager spawns a Redstone Golem right as hes about to die and then you accidentally bring him to the second phase before killing the Golem? You have to deal with essentially TWO bosses at once. This happened to me TWICE. Its sorta unfair that literally with the Golem there the fight just becomes 3x harder.
U gotta admit something, making Bête Noires is already proving to be the most fatal mistake ever in MULTIPLE things, just look at poor Archie who got REJECTED by his FELLOW Illagers and HATED by all the other mobs, go check on the Bête Noire term to understand what I mean since Archie, as a Bête Noire, became the antagonist of this game
@@DerpaTure9503 1. We already have a Dragon Boss in smash, being Rathalos 2. The Ender Dragon is sorta lame but fits the main minecraft game. Even though I personally don’t think the Dragon suits the rest of the end well, it’s fight is about building precisely and crafting. Which sorta makes sense that you’re using all the skills in the game from that point. But the Heart of Ender fits smash more. It’s fight is far more fast paced, frantic, and erratic. While the Ender Dragon is certainly more popular, The Arch Illager is honestly a better fit. And the atmosphere of the fight would be better
This is so much more somber than the one in Smash. Fitting from what I know of his story personally, I prefer the one in Smash Bros. for how amazingly bombastic it is. really takes those hits and gives them to a full orchestra and choir and it sounds incredible it really emphasizes what a great battle theme it is, and yet this takes the Funeral of Flowers (from FE3H) route and it works beautifully

As some who just beat the Arch-Illager, this theme is a banger. It's also kinda sad thinking about the Arch Illager's backstory. He was exiled from the villagers and his own people. And it seemed all he wanted was revenge. Or the orb was controlling him.
He wanted revenge, and the Orb only channeled that revenge with whispers of power and wishes. It turned from revenge to retribution, and finally to redemption.
Here a couple of hours before Steve drops in Smash, hopefully the remix of this song is as good or even more good than the original (And hopefully Yoko Shimomura remixed it)

I literally realized that when I watched Matapt's Illager theory. (I only beleive the ravager part, everything else is stupid) Archie is literally an exiled exile who was also exiled from the people who exiled the original exiles.

I love how most people in the comments know how Archie didn’t want all of what he did and what he went through, I also love how dramatic the music is, you can really feel the pain Archie went through and how at the end he gets released from the orbs grip, Archie was never the enemy, he is the victim/protagonist or main character.
The hype of Steve getting into smash can be easily shown from that beginning. You know what's coming but it suprises you anyway

The Arch Illager struggles.
The Orb of Dominance has become sentient, and it is attempting to escape. It pulls and tugs at him as it tries to pull free from his staff.
Until suddenly, it explodes, blasting away all your armor and weapons, and blinding you with a harsh white glow.
The Arch-Illager, the enemy of the Villagers, was defeated.
The Illager lies there, then opens his eyes with a vengeful look. However, he shakes his head, and he looks regretful.
He notices you and your teammates.
He cowers as you slowly approach.
Great heroes saved the day, and vanquished evil.
This is the end for him.
But what's this? The heroes don't hurt the illager. They instead help him up. Then, all together, they dance at the peak of the Obsidian Pinnacle.
Thanks to you, all was well...
Until... It wasn't.
A harsh storm crashes down at the Obsidian Pinnacle. The Orb of Dominance lays in pieces.
The pieces begin glowing. They slowly move towards each other. The pieces all come together to reform the Orb of Dominance.
The End.

Because, its the chanting of the end. Its the evil, resonating through its puppet, the arch illager.
From what I understand, "the heart of ender" is what was corrupting Archie and is infact the weak form of its true form called The Ender Demon, a being so powerful it warps reality and space and even time, but ever since it was defeated by the ancients, it was bound to a crystal or as we know it, the crystal of dominance, with this the ender demon has been traped in the crystal for millenias but it is profited to come back and reek it's revenge on the players and turn the overworld into the new END, and it will rule as the god of the minecraft universe for all of eternity, it is said that once it reaches it's full power, only one being can stop it, only one being is more powerful then the ender demon, only one holds the power over it, but unfortunately this being is not known, the only thing that is found of this mythical being are legends found in ancient caves, and there are eleged sightings of the being, but no proof, all that's known is that the being is seemingly allpowerful and is always watching, and has been around since the creation of minecraft itself, and the being never shows its face, but some how is every were and no were at the same time, we'll regardless of who it is, they are the only one that can defeat the Ender demon once in its true form and have gained it's full power, but just to clarify the heart of ender was simply the Ender demon's weak state and not even it's true form or full power.
This theme reminds me of Kirby. It has alot of Kirby vibes to it. Almost like you could throw it as a final boss theme for Kirby and it would fit right in.
Kirby's final bosses themes are always so good. this Could fit well in a kirby game, but i think it would need to sound little different

Correct me if I'm wrong, but thinking about it now, Magolor and Archie are kinda similar in a way. They are both controlled/influenced and later taken over by a greater evil in the form of an sentient object and both regret it later. And they are both short lol
to think that motoi sakuraba (dark souls, tales of, golden sun, mario tennis, etc) would compose the smash remix of this. it's so good!

Finally I was looking for this.

Don't you just hate it when the Arch Illager spawns a Redstone Golem right as hes about to die and then you accidentally bring him to the second phase before killing the Golem? You have to deal with essentially TWO bosses at once. This happened to me TWICE. Its sorta unfair that literally with the Golem there the fight just becomes 3x harder.

2. The Ender Dragon is sorta lame but fits the main minecraft game. Even though I personally don’t think the Dragon suits the rest of the end well, it’s fight is about building precisely and crafting. Which sorta makes sense that you’re using all the skills in the game from that point. But the Heart of Ender fits smash more. It’s fight is far more fast paced, frantic, and erratic. While the Ender Dragon is certainly more popular, The Arch Illager is honestly a better fit. And the atmosphere of the fight would be better

As some who just beat the Arch-Illager, this theme is a banger. It's also kinda sad thinking about the Arch Illager's backstory. He was exiled from the villagers and his own people. And it seemed all he wanted was revenge. Or the orb was controlling him.
He wanted revenge, and the Orb only channeled that revenge with whispers of power and wishes. It turned from revenge to retribution, and finally to redemption.
I feel like u can use this as a final battle theme for pokemon idk why
