Great video Ryan! Dry ice tip: put blocks of dry ice in your ice chest with wet ice. It will keep the wet ice longer and colder. To preserve the life of the dry ice, be sure and wrap the dry ice in plastic or zip lock so it won't come in contact with melting wet ice. Used to do this for extended camping trips with mom and dad YEARS ago! :D

hi Ryan! for locking the door, if you don't want to go through the hassle of having to use your key to lock from the outside -- once you push down the lock, hold the handle open until you close the door that way the lock mechanism won't go back upwards. hope this helps!
I was about to post the same thing haha. My first vehicle was an 87 Toyota pickup and I had to lock it the same way if I didn't want to use the key after closing the door.
Also, food related - let the rice soak for 30 minutes next time. It helps soften the exterior of the grain. Always 1:1 ratio of rice to water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 6 minutes and sit for at least 5 minutes.
Looks like you got a winner to me! I love how the natural light floods the camper from the window on the morning shot. 🌄 Beautifully done with the setup.
Ryan what about having a taller back rest foam that is held in place with a couple velcro squares on the wall and when in bed mode can go on top of existing foam as a second layer of thickness? Congrats on maiden voyage! It was too funny when your soda froze. I'm glad it did not explode open. Be safe!
It's just a fun project. Once you've built one van you have all kinds of skills and ideas to try on subsequent builds! Plus, this can park places the Promaster can't.
Buy a bar of soap, rub it between the slats of the bed and it will slide better. My mother used to do that to drawers without rails way back in the 50s when they would stick.
Hold the handle up as you close the door. Thats old school Japanese cars for you. We owned many of them growing up and I remember having to do that when you want to lock your doors.
Happy for you for getting the project done and creating content with the mini truck! Personally, I do love your bigger van as it feels more cozy. This one feels like a gimmick to me, I guess that's the best word I can describe it with. But I will definitely be watching more of your content. Good luck, Ryan.
I love how super happy he is with this awesome mini truck! Well done Ryan, I myself and I'm sure most of your 450k subscribers are happy for you! keep going dude, much love to you!
Fold out step for the back would be a nice touch. Alternator charger or just supply some 12v power to the power bank(like solar) when driving. If it has two solar connections that would be nice. 16:10 I would get caps for those jugs under the sink. Put a hole and hot glue the hose in it, so it doesn't spill. Better than that would be to get a similar sized tank and put it underneath if there is space. Lastly, The pull out bed should be a second bunk if you even have two people in there.
Ryan, I've been watching you for some time now and I'm so proud of the work you've put into the channel! I can't wait to see the next project you take on
So I don’t comment a lot, but since you’re going up highway 1 I’ve got to give you some “to do” on your list of things to see. When I was in the Air Force I was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Absolutely loved Lompoc, California. You’ve got to find a spot where you can camp and see the flower fields. Every time I see flowers as crops it brings me back to that time of my life! Other great places to see along the highway are Solvang and Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is what you would expect however Solvang is a one of a kind type of place! The only other place that stands out is Hurst castle, however, I never actually got to be able to see it. So maybe if you go see it I can live through you. Thanks. Oh yeah, I don’t remember their names, but there are a few missions in the area. Well, quite a few missions in the area! Another great place to see. Can’t wait to see your trip!
Big win on the truck bro. Tons of fun seeing your first night after the build videos; it turned out better than I imagined it could be. Looking forward to seeing now how you tweak it for your next big road trip.
Looks amazing what a cool project. Everyone being all skeptical and saying your original van is better are all missing the point. So cool Ryan. Plz more with this Kei camper!
That's SO cool! Ugh dude, I want to do this myself so badly. It would solve my childhood tree house nostalgia while quenching my recent yearning for travel/wanderlust at the same time. Good stuff man! Looking forward to the final touches you make to it.
Hey Ryan I enjoyed your first night in your Kei truck. I recently saw a Honda version of a Kei truck. Very interesting, the back folded down flat. I was so fascinated. Can't wait to see what's next.
Just such suggestion:- (1) You can cut the window beck side off drivingseat and make emergency exit, (2) You can do rooftop much higher or adjustable so you can move around comfortablly (3) You can move your battery department under passenger seat for more space. **Sorry for my English my English is weak😅😅 but i think you understand what am I trying to say**

The build fell flat for me unfortunately. There’s nothing practical about it given the cost, livability and performance. Unless someone’s looking for content for their TH-cam channel none of it makes sense.
Who cares? I haven’t seen any build that is quite like this for a kei truck. And you never know how something is until you try it. I think it looks awesome and does what it needs to.

Bet you could make a slide out insulated drawer for one of your slots under the bed that you could build in a slot in a top lid for dry ice and it cools stuff below it. Good for weekend trips and wouldn’t use power. You can see how well dry ice works and it lasts long enough too.

The radio is tuned for Asia frequencies. I bought a home stereo from Japan and found this out myself :D Bro, sweet kei truck build, the interior looks so beauriful. Any plans to add some security cameras on the outside, particularly facing reward, so you can see whats going on outside? Could be those recessed keyhole type of cameras, I think they're pretty inexpensive.
I just got to say, it would be really hard to Stealth camp in this, LoL, might as well Vinyl wrap it to promote the youtube channel for the the builds in the shop.
Ryan, I think you can lock the button and hold the handle up as you close the door and it will stay locked. So, you don't need to use the key every time. My old 83 honda accord was the same way.
You can use the passenger floor board and seat to store some items in plastic containers. I used to do expedited deliveries in a promaster 3500ext. Because I carried up to 3 pallets, room was limited. I had a bucket with lid where I stored supplies along with a piece of pool noodle and plastic bags so the bucket doubled as an emergency toilet which was only used once 😂. Also had a couple of plastic “ammo” boxes where I stored things I wanted to have but didn’t necessarily use every day.
I live in Eastern NC. Since you started building your mini truck I've seen at least 15 of them. I never saw them before. And they were right hand drive too.
Well looks like some people said the door lock thing. My step dad had a Mazda truck. I thought of that right away. Since they're both Japanese vehicles and older ones.

17:04 just some cooking advice. . if you let the dry ice partially freeze the steak, As long as you have a sharp enough knife it will be easier to cut the steak into thin slices. Also 6.5-7 minutes on them eggs my dude. You should get a solid soft boil egg.
