Never fished the Whopper Plopper but I started fishing the Choppo this year and I have smoked them on it. Started with the 90 and I have caught more bass on the Choppo 90 in Bone this year than everything else I’ve thrown combined. I’ve thrown the larger ones a little but they didn’t get me the bites the 90 has on the small ponds I bank fish. The 90 has caught me bass when nothing else would even get a bite. Also, I’ve never had a Choppo break. I’ve bounced them off of everything and ripped them out of trees with zero issues.

Loved the video. I have been using the 75 choppo. It's the same length as the wp90 but a tad thicker. It works pretty good in pressured ponds from the shore. I appreciate what you do. Good luck at Eufaula.
Thanks Matt. For what it’s worth, I keep a little dental floss in the boat to clear out those tiny pieces of debris that screw up the plop. Kinda crazy, but saves time.
You know I used to throw the Whopper Plopper all summer long and without fail I would connect. Unfortunately, after everyone found out about them the bite just fell off and I have been going back to a spook. It sucks because the strikes are a lot of fun. I always ran them on braid for the reasons you had said. Perhaps it is time to break them back out again. Great videos Matt, keep them coming.
I found 2 R2S Whopper Ploppers and a Choppo. I have tried both brands and the Choppo has trouble staying in the water; it pops out, slow start-up. Retired it. It also spins so I had to put a swivel on it.

Thank you sir! Typically it’s braid as well but you could definitely get away with a flouro!
