I've been listening to it almost daily since. I also reread "a farewell to arms", which contains nothing to remind me of my father, but has the single saddest ending of any novel, ever. I must be addicted to feeling heartbroken or just the release I get from crying.
Her songs are genius. If you play the song without sound, it reads out in a beautiful & sad poem. If I remember correctly, she said that she had wanted to be a poet. I absolutely think that she could become a poet! Her words are so meaningful... and rhyme too! My sole wish is that she becomes more famous than the artists you hear on the radio today. I just graduated at the age of 26 with my biology degree with first class honours yesterday. This reminds me of my father who passed away in 2012, I never had met him in my life and I was going to meet him the week he passed away, he wasn't waiting on the other side of Ohio (Which is Youngstown) and then me and my mother went home maybe thinking he would be there at our house. Well when we had gotten to my house my Uncle Nick called and said that my father has passed out in the shower and his head hit something severely sharp and he died, but my father was really sick because he had diabetes. I started listening to Lana because of my depression and my life was really bad, Lana made me feel better, her songs meant something to me, I don't know what it is, but the songs are just beautiful and when I hear one my life just lights up, and when it rains and I turn on a Lana Del Rey song it stops raining. I love her so much and her songs have helped me through life a lot. :)

It's been almost a year since I lost my father; i hear this song for the first time a few days ago, & immediately that line "I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side" stuck out, stuck right into my brain, and gave me a good 10 minute cry. I've been listening to it almost daily since. I also reread "a farewell to arms", which contains nothing to remind me of my father, but has the single saddest ending of any novel, ever. I must be addicted to feeling heartbroken or just the release I get from crying.
Her songs are genius. If you play the song without sound, it reads out in a beautiful & sad poem. If I remember correctly, she said that she had wanted to be a poet. I absolutely think that she could become a poet! Her words are so meaningful... and rhyme too! My sole wish is that she becomes more famous than the artists you hear on the radio today. I'd honestly switch out any of them just to hear Lana on the radio.

there’s no words for how hard this song just slaps me in the face. it’s like she’s laying in bed talking to her dead relative crying and panicking. the bridge makes me feel like she’s freaking out and crying on the verge of screaming out of rage of loosing them. lana is probably the only artist that with any song she puts out, makes me feel like i am literally living through her situation

I just graduated at the age of 26 with my biology degree with first class honours yesterday. My journey has not been easy, i was in medical school abroad at 19 years while there i was terribly bullied by someone who was my friend. I then started medical school again locally at 21 .i spent 2 years but i was having mental breakdowns as it was too stressful for me to handle. I felt like giving up on my education. At 23 i decided to change my degree to a science major- biology... i wanted to give up so so many times.. so thankful i didnt. Dont give up...i finally have my bachelors degree at 26.

I learned that the hard way after losing a friend 3 years ago. It’s gonna get better love, trust me. Won’t be the same but it’ll eventually get a little better for you. Don’t suffer in silence. You deserve to talk to someone, remember that. Friends, a dog, journal that pain out if you can. Let it out someway. I don’t think your dad wants you to suffer, remember that. Just slowly approach your mom with the issue when you deeply feel the time may be right? Or be straight forward with her, I don’t know your style with communication with people. So I’m just suggesting and questioning. Remember you’re loved. You’re not alone. You deserve to talk to someone. This pain shall pass. I hope this helped some if you read this. 💕
Me too. My dad died in 2016 but ever since November 8th 2016, I was 17, I'm frozen in time, I still feel as though it is the same year my dad died but it's been 3 yrs. My mother has been broken since , and I died with my best friend my dad. My dad really showed me how a young woman is supposed to be treated and loved... This song tears at my heart so much , the first 2 yrs I wished I was dead. Even now every now and then I catch myself saying I wish I was with my dad instead of here... If you feel okay telling people why your dad passed away, then good for you. I'm just saying that it's a bit insensitive to ask a stranger on the internet why a friend passed away. This reminds me of my father who passed away in 2012, I never had met him in my life and I was going to meet him the week he passed away, he wasn't waiting on the other side of Ohio (Which is Youngstown) and then me and my mother went home maybe thinking he would be there at our house. Well when we had gotten to my house my Uncle Nick called and said that my father has passed out in the shower and his head hit something severely sharp and he died, but my father was really sick because he had diabetes. I started listening to Lana because of my depression and my life was really bad, Lana made me feel better, her songs meant something to me, I don't know what it is, but the songs are just beautiful and when I hear one my life just lights up, and when it rains and I turn on a Lana Del Rey song it stops raining. I love her so much and her songs have helped me through life a lot. :)

I felt alone during those times, and I listened to this song to deal with those harsh thoughts. It's been nearly a year since that happened, but whenever I listen to this, it sends shivers down my spine. I know how much this song can mean to someone, especially the artist since it was written subsequently from a great tragedy. It's been such a long road, and Lana has grown to be a part of my life and mind. It's no surprise she's my favorite singer there is, her songs have such deep thought, and this only happens to be one of many.
