- Lotus Is A Beautiful Aquatic Plant Which People Mainly Grow For It's Beautiful Flowers. Lotus Tuber, Stems, Seeds And Flowers Are Edible. Lotus Can Be Grown From Seeds And Tubers. Growing Lotus From Tuber Is Fast And Easy Method. Growing Lotus From Seeds Takes Two Months To Five Years For It's Bloom's. Blooming Is Also Depends On Size Of The Containers And Varieties Of Seeds. Some Lotus Required Big Size Containers And Some Lotus Bloom's In Bowl Too. Many Hybrid Lotus Tubers Are Easily Available Online. You Can Choose According To Your Wish. Bowl, Medium, Large, Micro Lotus Tubers You Can Easily Buy Online.
How To Grow Lotus (Kamal In Hindi) From Tubers:-
1. Check Tubers Before Buying. Some Sale Very Small Size Tuber Which May Damage In Transit. Select Tuber Which Have Many Node And Which Is Thick And Healthy.
2. Prepare Pots Before Planting Tubers. For That Choose Pot According To Varieties Of Tuber. In Beginning Use Big Size Pots For Bowl Varities Like 15 Inch Diameter And Ten To Twelve Inch Deep Pot.
3. For Soil Use Soil From Pond Or Clay Soil Or If Both Not Available You Can Use Your Garden Soil (Soil From Your Garden). 80% Garden Soil And 20% Vermi Compost.
4. Fill Pot 1/3 With Garden Soil+Vermi Compost And Fill Remaining With Water And Keep Pot In Full Sunlight.
5. Deep Tuber In Fungicide Water Before Planting (Tea Spoon Fungicide Powder In One Liter Water) For Ten Minutes. Good Tuber Floats On Water.
6. If Tuber Have Leaves And Roots You Can Plant Tuber Directly In Soil After Ten Minutes And If Tuber Have No Leaves And No Roots Take One Bucket And Fill Bucket With Plain Water And Keep Tuber In Bucket And Keep Bucket In Full Sunlight Untill Tuber Starts Producing Roots And Leaves.
7. When You See Roots And Leaves Plant Tuber In Soil. Gently Press Tuber In Soil. Leaves Side Above And Roots Side With Tuber Inside The Soil. Do Burry Tuber Too Deep In The Soil. Just Press It In The Soil. Do Not Break Growth Tip While Planting Tuber. If Tuber Comes Up Place One Stone Over It.
8. Keep Pot In Full Sunlight.
9. Remove Algae For Good Growth Of Lotus.
10. You Can Add 1ml Neem Oil In Small Size Containers And 3ml Neem Oil In Big Size Containers (24 Inch) To Avoid Mosquitoes. Excess Of Neem Oil May Burn The Leaves. Use Neem Oil In Small Quantity Only.
11. Remove Damage Leaves And Keep Pot Always Clean. You Can Overflow Water Every Day To Keep Water Clean And Mosquito Free.
12. Do Not Cut Aerial Leaves From Below Water Level As Aerial Leaves Stems Have Hole In Its Stems. If Water Goes Into Stems Tuber May Rot.
Note:- Winter Is The Dormancy Period Of Lotus. Keep Pot In Frost Free Area. Do Not Buy Or Plant Lotus Tuber In Winter.

Thanx for the video..i am new to growing lotus . Everything went well untill i started seeing my tub full of slimy algea and my tuber supplier told me to remove the tuber immediately else it will start rotting. From then on i have been trying to find why am i the only one with tub full of algae and others are clean and budding too..after lots of research i came to know that due to high nitrates(manures and fertilisers) algae is formed and after watching ur video i got to know that its common and how to clean it. THANX A LOT
You should make another video with a bit more of algae and how to wash it off..
Sure ... another vdo is available on channel. You can add some fish which cleans the pond. Add some other floating plants on water. Will make separate vdo on that.

Purane leaves yellow ho jaate hain ..jabh galne lage to hata dijiyega Leaves ko. Pond tab aati hain uska use kare aap apne Aquatic plants main. Winter eik month pehle fertilizer dena band kar dijiyega lekin

Yes water plants attracts snails 🐌 but if you change water daily and use fishes then you can grow water plants easily. When I started first time I face those problems but now they are growing fine with me. Change water daily or add fishes like molly and guppies. Add neem oil according to size of the pots.
Can we use neem oil along with fishes to stop mosquitoes breeding...and is it safe to use neem oil in lotus...
Use in small quantity but it's not safe bcoz they burn the leaf. Manual cleaning is better
Fish eats the mosquito larvae so no need of neem oil.

I have just added cow dung manure in soil and temperature in my region is around 37 degree celcius
Ok give some shade if too hot outside. Lotus loves warm climate but too hot tempreture burns leaves

Yes lotus can be grown through Tuber or Seeds. But seeds grown will produce normal lotus only as breeder don't sale excotics varities of lotus seeds and seeds grown will take more then one year to bloom and sometimes it takes five years also.
