Hanna/Barbera Productions made the best action cartoons ever. Herculoids, Space Ghost, and others H/B made were great and fun to watch and they weren't as violent as some people said. I love them! I'll be 67 soon and still remember them as they were yesterday.
😩" IT WOULDN'T FLY!.... Why? Different generations are often drawn toward familiar entertainment they grew up with, instead of unfamiliar entertainment they didn't. 1960s & 70s action classics were primarily created for viewers from those generations, like what Anime is to younger generations. Of course, there are exceptions. Still, the fact that so many classic cartoons like The Herculoids are relegated to pay-per-view channels and video platforms underscores their general status as relics of a bygone era. "
Igoo was OK. Gloop and Gleep were cool. Tundro was a badass with his cannon snout. BUT.... Zok remains, to this day, one of the coolest creatures ever penned. A flying space dragon that shoots hi-powered lasers from his eyes and tail. Sometimes he can produce a beam with his eyes that neutralizes his opponents energy. (The "nega-beam')
Igoo always got his ass STOMPED by some random monster.robot because he rushed in with a rock-ape temper tantrum!! Then Zok, Tundro, Gloop and Gleep always had to bail him out!! I LOVED THIS CARTOON!
@@pulsarstargrave256 This opening without a voice-over was probably made for syndication to non-English-speaking countries (with the cartoons themselves dubbed into the language of the country broadcasting the show).
@altfactor\Makes sense to me, THANKS! I always loved this theme! I use to hum it whenever I read FANTASTIC FOUR comics! I wonder, did they create The Herculoids before they got the rights to do the FF cartoon?
This particular video came from a video tape compilation of episodes bought in Canada around 1990. That probably explains the lack of voiceover in the intro.
+Donald Wells I keep telling this story, but when I was younger I used to hum the Herculoids Theme song while reading Fantastic Four comics (who never had a cool themesong of their own!)
if u love this try Future Quest and Future Quest Presents by Jeff Parker from DC Comics the 1st one is about a crisis uniting all the Hanna Barbera Heroes to save the earth from a villain named omnikron the second one is an ongoign starring the heroes after the omnikron crisis here is some art www.bleedingcool.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Future-Quest-promo_56a96b0d86da90.51306406.jpg www.dccomics.com/sites/default/files/GalleryComics_1920x1080_20160518_FUTURE_QUEST_1-copy_57082e5bc46639.25878732.jpg
By the way, "Herculoids" was actually produced in 1967, but WAS rerun throughout the 1970's. This theme music was one of the most iconic theme songs for a cartoon series ever. BTW, "Herculoids" (along with "Space Ghost") was revived in the early 1980's in a less violent form.
This is my favorite show back when I was a kid Tara is so hot she remind me of Shanna the She-Devil that marvel jungle woman heroin the only show I saw her was on Spider-Ma and his amazing Friends episode 6 seven little superheroes
Serious question: If someone did a new, non-'Teen Titans Go' like version of this concept, would you watch it? (I'm talking 'Friendship is Magic'-or-'Avatar-the-Last-Airbender'-type animation here...)

Makes me wish Warner Bros. would make use of them more since they own Hanna Barbera’s lineup of amazing characters!
Deep into the 90’s you could still find Hannah Barbera cartoons syndicated on Cartoon Network. It’s where a lot of us 90’s kids discovered them.
One of the great titles for cartoons. Herculoids good cartoon from 1960s
ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES!!!
Spetacular ! probably, the best cartoon intro ever, par with the original Jonny Quest. !😀
One of my very favorite Saturday cartoons. I now have the episodes on DVD.

These cartoons were made in the 60s,if it had been done in the 70s they would have been dancing around in a disco.
Right! I have corrected my write up to say 60s. Thank you!
Gloop and Gleep we're so cool! 🙂
OMG! This was my shit! Gloop and Gleep were my boys!
Zok was mine!

During this year Taft took over
Hannah - Barbera cartoons
Where is the voice over, y'know, the part about them "teaming up to protect their planet against sinister invaders?"
+kowalski65 You have to punch in Herculoids Theme /w voiceover. You'll see that it's older as Tara's blue outfit looks like a faded bluish-green.

I think the concept of Thundarr the Barbarian was better.

I'm with you, remember the Hanna Barbera World of Adventure hour
I love it I am 60
@@williammason475 Hanna Barbara ruled Saturday mornings in the 70s to the 80s then in the late 80s Disney got jealous and tried to take the crown.
this would make for a good reboot or a live action movie
Love The Herculoids! The music reminds me of some of Les Baxter's music for the Roger Corman Poe movies he scored. Great stuff!
The Fantastic Four's music was inspired by Henry Mancini (Peter Gunn) meets Duke Ellington (Anatomy Of A Murder).
The Herculoids and I are 47 years old. :-)

Herculoids was weird and wonderful, and I'm sure that alot of cartoon artist referenced this.
I used to watch this on TV when I was a kiddie winkie.

Ralph brought me here (KROQ) thumbs up
They can make Land of the Lost into a movie, why not Herculoids and Johnny Quest? Space Ghost would be cool too.
the big rock creature smashes the heads off those two robot things ....

The Herculoids Rule!!!!
